Stern drive motor or out board motor that can rotate 360 degrees and still go vertical or horizontal or both at the same time at any given time

Abstract
The out board motor and stern drive motor have been around for over 100 years using the same concept, the only change has been in the performance and the physical design, (there still very limited in use). Just by the very simple rotation 360 degrees and flexibility movements horizontal or vertical of the out board motor or stern drive motor, the operator will no longer get caught with in its own wake when turning sharp and the operator now can have a much safer ride and a more exciting ride, docking your boat will be ever so easily since the out board motor or stern drive motor can now rotate 360 degrees so your turning radius is no long a factor because you can turn 360 degrees safely at any given time, and with the built in safety censors you also have the advance protection to prevent accidents.

    • 1) The motor (01) boat (02) The flexible horizontal axel (03) the split drive horizontal drive shaft (09) Vertical axel (16) Propeller blade horizontal axel (05) propeller blade (06) horizontal lifting piston (07) the Complete stern drive unit (08) the upper unit (10) and lower unit (11) the flexible seal between the upper and lower unit (12) showing the boat going forward (13)

FIG. 2

    • 2) The boat (02) going in reverse (14) in the water (15) as the lower unit (11) is in Reverse (14) but not the propeller blade (06), or the vertical axle (16) is still in the same position as before, just like the complete stern drive motor unit (08) and as the lower unit (11) has rotate 180 degrees (40) to go in to reverse (14) and staying horizontal (19) at any given time, or rotate 360 degrees (26) vertically (20) at any given time, and the flexible seal between the upper and lower units (12) will keep out any water (15) from entering the lower unit (11) or the upper unit (10) that would cause harm to the inside gears.

FIG. 3

    • 3) Showing the boat (02) going forward (13) as the motor (01) is turning the flexible horizontal axel (03) with the split drive horizontal shaft (09) as this turns the vertical axel (16) as this will connect to the horizontal propeller blade axel (05) and will also turn the propeller blade (06) as the complete stern drive unit (08) will start to rise a little, as the horizontal lifting pistons (07) will push out, and up as the boat will start to go faster.

FIG. 4

    • 4) As the boat (02) is now headed in reverse (14) and the complete stern drive motor unit (08) hasn't been changed, except as the lower unit (11) is now going in reverse (4) and there is no changed in any other part of the complete stern drive motor unit (08) as the stern drive prolusion unit (21) is still in the same direction as before. even as if the complete stern drive motor unit (08) has a reverse gear (18) with in It self

FIG. 5

    • 5) The boat (02) and the motor (01) is now traveling to the starboard side with no changed to the complete stern drive motor (08) but now the boat (02) is making a safe and tight turn, using the lower unit (11) only, and as the boat (02) is moving at a safe and secure course, looking at the propeller blade (06) any one in the marine business, or the average boater can clearly see the advantages of the 360 degree rotating horizontally (26) stern drive propulsion unit (21) or the out board motor propulsion unit (22)

FIG. 6

    • 6) Now the boat (02) is traveling to the port side as the propeller blade (06) is now pushing the boat (02) safely to the port side port side as the boat (02) maneuvering in a tight docking space, and the stern drive lower unit (11) can turn 360 degrees (26) horizontally (19) and vertically (20) at any give time, the motor (01) is still working the same as before, and now there is less use for the conventional steering wheel, and more control because of 360 degree rotating (26) horizontally (19) lower unit (11) or 360 degrees (26) vertically (20) at any given time, and the stern drive propulsion unit (21) can also go horizontal (19) and vertical (20) at the same time as the operator is operating the boat.

FIG. 7

    • 7) As the boat (02) is going forward (13) on the calm water (15) the complete stern drive unit (08) is proceeding with out any problems, the motor (01) is proceeding, as the lower unit (11) and the propeller blade (06) is going smooth through the water (15) just up a head is a rock (24) as the lower unit (11) gets closer to rock (24) the automatic censors unit (25) that protects the, complete stern drive unit (08) in case of accidents with fix objects, humans, manatees, or any other objects that may be harmed or harm the complete stern drive unit (08)

FIG. 8

    • 8) The boat (02) is now getting closer to the rock (24) and the special automatic censor unit (25) is starting to pick up danger, and accident and the stern drive proposition unit (21) Is starting to raise (27) as the piston (07) and the automatic censors unit (25) are Working together in a less then a split second in time, to avoid the rock (24) Also the flexible horizontal axel (03) is now starting to move up, as well as the Split drive shaft (09) is also moving in an upward position.

FIG. 9

    • 9) As the boat (02) is getting even closer to the rock (24) and the automatic censors unit (25) is getting a stronger read out of danger ahead and the horizontal pistons (07) Are pushing the complete stern drive unit (08) back and up to prevent any contact with the rock (24) the split drive shaft (09) is at a greater angel and now the propeller blade (06) as well as the entire drive train system together, the motor (01) the flexible horizontal drive shaft (03) vertical axel (16) propeller blade horizontal axel (05) is now starting to stop in less then a split second in a very safe way. This will help prevent any damage to the complete drive system (08) as the boat (02) will continue to go forward and safety over the rock (24) but all moving systems will be stopped.

FIG. 10

    • 10) As the complete stern drive unit (08) is getting even closer to the rock (24) the automatic censors unit (25) continues sending out warning, and the horizontal pistons (07) have now push the complete stern drive unit (08) far away from any danger from the rock (24) below the water (15) and as the boat (02) will continue to go over the rock (24) the entire drive system has been safely stopped and out of danger, as one can clearly see how far out of the water (15) the complete stern drive unit (08) will go, and just how lighting fast and efficient this automatic censors safety system will work to help prevent damage to the entire stern drive system (08) and the motor (01) as well, and because there is no sunned stop, there is less chance of any people of getting hurt

FIG. 11

    • 11) Now your looking at the boat (02) and the complete stern drive unit (08) back down In the water (15) and proceeding at a normal speed and moving condition, as one can clearly see there is no damage to the stern complete stern drive unit (08) or the motor, (01) propeller blade (06) lower unit (11) or any other part of the entire stern drive propos ion unit (21) any other part of the entire boat (02) and the automatic censors unit (25) has done its job one hundred percent in saving lives, equipment and vacation time.

FIG. 12

    • 12) Now your looking at the lower unit (11) in reverse (14) and the motor (01) is operating at normal operating range, the entire stern drive proposition unit (21) is working fine also and the automatic censors units (25) is always on and doing its job protecting people, other living thing and material.

FIG. 13

    • 13) Another automatic way of avoiding rocks (24) is to have the stern drive unit (08) lower unit (11) go straight up automatically when the automatic censor (25) are sensing danger, In to the upper unit (10) this will also prevent added stress or damaged to the horizontal drive shaft (33) because the horizontal drive shaft (33) never bends or goes on an angle, and now in stead of having horizontal pistons (07) lifting up the stern drive unit (08) out ward and taking up more space to do this task, because the length extends out ward, the lower units (11) will simple go straight up in to the upper unit (10) by the way of vertical lifting pistons (28) now the only space that is taken up is in the same area as the upper unit (10) it self and now if the boater needs to increase speed, even when they are raising the lower unit (11) they don't have to worry about the extra stress that is put on the horizontal drive shaft (33) because it doesn't have to bend or be moved, and the split drive shaft (09) will be eliminated, this will allow the boater to go faster if they need to in lower water (15) and not have to worry about the extra stress force that is put on the horizontal drive shaft (33) because its staying in place, and not being forced to bend looking at the boat (02) going forward (13) and the stern drive propulsion unit (21) and the flexible boot seal (41) is clearly attach to the upper unit (10) and the lower unit (11) this so if the lower unit (11) wants to go up in to the upper unit (10) and the vertical two part drive shaft axels together, (36) the upper part drive shaft axel (35) will start to go in to the lower part drive shaft axel (34) as the axels are moving together as one and in perfect form, the lower part drive shaft drive axel (34) will slide in to the upper part drive shaft axel (35) as the lower unit (11) travels upward.

FIG. 14

    • 14) As your looking at the stern drive unit (08) you can see the automatic censors (25) wave lengths picking up danger, hundreds of feet or more, ahead, behind, port side or the starboard side of the boat (02) lower unit (11) is going in to the upper unit (10) automatically by the way of the vertical lifting pistons (28) and the boot seal (41) is starting to go closer together. And the horizontal drive shaft (33) is staying in place, and the boat (02) is maintaining speed, even though the lower unit (11) is going up, automatically and the under water (15) the rock (24) that is in the way is now being avoided, as the vertical two part drive shaft axels together (36) is more compact as the lower part drive shaft axel (35) goes in to the upper part drive shaft axel (34) as the lower unit (11) is now traveling up in to the upper unit (10) to avoid an accident from the rock (24)

FIG. 15

    • 15) The boat (02) is now coming in to a more dangerous area of under water (15) debris log, weeds and more (44) automatically the censors (25) is sensing more danger, and the lower unit (11) is going up in to the upper unit (10) automatically even faster so to avoid any accidents, and as long as there is enough water (15) for the boats (02) propeller (06) the boat (02) will still continue to travel at a normal speed, as your looking at the vertical lifting pistons (28) go even closer together, and the boot seal (41) is even more compress, and keeping out the water (15) of the lower unit (11) and the upper unit (10)

FIG. 16

    • 16) Now the boat (02) is about to beach (45) it self, and the lower unit (11) is now all the way in to the upper unit (10) and above the bottom (29) of the boat (02) as well as the vertical pistons (28) is full compresses and so is the boot seal (41) is also full compresses, and the stern drive system (08) as well as the propeller (06) is safely out of danger form being damaged by the beaching the boat (02)

FIG. 17

    • 17) Looking at the flexible stern drive unit (46) that can rotate 360 degrees (26) and between the upper unit (10) and the lower unit (11) there is a flexible boot seal (41) that will protect the vertical split drive axel shafts (36) and the vertical turning pistons (37) from getting water (15) in to the lower unit (11) or the upper unit (10) as the left vertical pushing piston (38) is now pushing up so the upper unit (10) is now starting to angel freely to the right side depending on which way the boat (02) Is turning, this system will allow the boat to turn as sharp as the operator would like to, and never start to cavitations in the water (15) so the propeller (06) will never loose any grip in the water and this will also prevent any loss of steering or speed since the entire lower unit (11) will be in the water (15) at all times.

FIG. 18

    • 18) As your looking at the flexible stern drive unit (46) that can rotate 360 degrees (26) And between the upper unit (10) and the lower unit (11) there is a flexible boot seal (41) that will protect the vertical split drive axels shafts (36) and the left vertical pushing pistons (38) from getting water (15) in to the lower unit (11) and the upper unit (10) as the right vertical pushing piston (39) is pushing up ward to be able to bend freely at a left side (38) depending on which way the boat (02) is turning, this system will allow the boat to turn as sharp as the operator would like to, and never start to cavitations in the water (15) so the propeller (06) will never loose any grip in the water and this will also prevent any loss or steering of speed since the entire lower unit (11) will be in the water (15) at all times

FIG. 19

    • 19) Now your looking at the protective shield (29) this will help prevent the dangers area of the propeller blade (06) from any one getting hurt, unlike all the other protective shields, that have been in place, this protective shield (29) will not cause any drag on the movement or the boat (02) and this will also help to prevent the danger of any one or thing from getting hurt by the propeller (06)

FIG. 20

    • 20) The main wing section (30) along with the fin (31) is clearly on the upper unit (10) and in the water (15) as the boat (02) is going forward (13) the fin is (31) is starting to face downward, as the propeller (06) is safely moving through the water (15)

FIG. 21

    • 21) Showing how the boat (02) will operate as the boat (02) is straight and level, and the stern drive propulsion unit (21) is in the vertical position (32)

    • 22) now your looking at the boat (02) turning to the right (35) and the stern drive proposition unit (21) is still at the vertical position (32) not loosing any grip with in the water (15)

    • 23) The boat (02) is now in a very steep turn to the right (43) and the stern drive propulsion unit (21) is still completely in the vertical position (32) and still, even at such a high rate of speed and the very sharp turns to the right or to the left, the propeller (06) will always get deep in to the water (15) and never loose the traction that the water (15) will provide.

FIG. 22

    • 24) The out board motor is going forward (13) that's attach to the transom of the boat (02) looking at the flexible boot seal (41) between the upper unit (10) and the lower unit (11) and now the lower unit (11) has rotated 180 degrees (40) so now the boat is going in to reverse (14) and the out board motor can just as easily go 360 degrees (26) in to any direction at any given time, and staying horizontal (19) or vertical (20) and all way with the protection of the automatic censors units.

FIG. 23

    • 25) Showing the adaptor (48) with the universal seals going between the existing stern drive (08) upper unit (10) and the lower unit (11) then threes also the automatic censors units boot (49) that will just pull up from the bottom of the lower unit (11) and the standard wire connections (51) that will attach to any boats power source, and the censors units can also be strapped or any other easily way to install an connect to the existing stern drive motor (08) or any out board motor (23)

Claims

You're also able to maneuver in very tight docking spaces just as convenient as a twin drive system.
  • 2) Their are automatic censors that are mounted with in the stern drive motor and the out board motor that react when they sense danger at any time automatically This is accomplish by a computer chip that can identify millions of objects hundreds of feet away in less then a split second. This will determine if the object is dangerous to the boat, stern drive motor or the out board motor and to take the proper precautions so there is no or little damage or no one harmed in the event of an accident. This system will give the boat operator the much needed time to make a correct decision, because they are warned well in advance of any possible danger.
  • 3) There's safety automatic censor circuits built right in to help prevent accidents. There's a warning light, buzzer or horn, on the dash board where the operators sits and there's a light and or a buzzer or a horn at the bow, stern, port and starboard section of the boat, and the stern drive units or the out board motors as well, that has a warning light out side the boat, that clearly tells the occupants in the boat and in the water, as a water skier, water tuber or just a swimmer would need to know if the boats motor is running and the propeller blades are moving or not, this along safety system will save thousands of lives and injuries alone, and yet the cost will be minimal, to in stall at the factory or just a little more a on existing boats, also the special computer chip will not be affected or fooled by the boats motor, warmth of the body heat, sunlight, darkness of the clouds weather, water movement, and any thing else. This computer chip as stated in claim 1, can identify millions of objects in less then a split second to determine if the object will harm the stern drive motor or the out board motor and if so what kind of possible damage this object may cause, or will harm be brought to a human or some other living things.
  • 4) In the event that the stern drive motor propulsion drive steering system or the out board motor propulsion drive steering system, is involved in an accident, the safety system will be alerted in less then a split second, just be for the impact, the propeller blades that are on the stern drive motor unit or the out board motor unit will stop right away and so will the motor, and at the same time the stern drive unit or the out board unit will lift out of the water as the boat will continue to travel, so there wont be any damage to the propeller blades or any part on the drive units them selves, and no sunned stopping, that in it self could cause harm to any one that is in the boat, they could be thrown about with in the boat or be thrown over board and in to the water, and if the object was a human or a manatees or something else they would less likely to be harmed or killed, simply because of the many built in safety features that will prevent accidents and damage before it happens.
  • 5) There's a permanent wing, with small fins on the end of the wing, that help plain faster and easer. These wings have flexibility and movement, they are also able to change there pitch. Furthermore the design and the area of the wing or wings and fins are so much different in size, style, shape and performance, there is no comparison what so ever, this automatic system will simply help and get the boat up much easer and faster on top of the water, automatically sensing the boats weight, speed, and wind conditions, for a much smoother ride and a more fuel efficient ride as well as a safer ride.
  • 6) The use of the wing or the wings on the rotating stern drive motor proposition steering system or the out board motor drive motor proposition steering system not only with this specially design, help the boat get up and stay on plain faster, but will also get the boat above the water and just float through the air, just above the water with only the stern drive motor proposition drive steering system or the out board motor proposition drive steering system in the water, and the wing as well as the fins are keeping the boat above the water, at a lower speed. this will also help the boater avoid rough waters and the constant bouncing around on top of the water. They can stay above the water as long as the operator wants to, for a very smooth and enjoyable ride, and when the operator wants to go back down to the water, all they would have to do is to slow down and just glide back down on to the surface of the water.
  • 7) The advantages to change the pre existing out dated, stern drive motor drive systems, and the out board motor drive systems, would improve the performance many times over, and the fun, or safety of the occupants would for ever be change for life, they would no longer go back to the old out dated power drive and steering systems ever again. The stern drive systems and out board motor systems as we know them now, are going the way of the dinosaur.
  • 8) There's a universal adaptor you can put on and in stall between the existing upper unit and lower unit, this adaptor will make your stern drive motor or out board motor rotate 360 degrees, and is easy to installed and connect to the existing power supply and hydraulics unit, the rotating plate seal adaptor that will rotate 360 degrees will easily fit between the upper and lower unit. This will also allow the unit to go vertical or horizontal.
  • 9) This new steering system, wing system and power drive system will also give the operator more control, freedom and fun like they have never had before, furthermore because of the special design, the performance will be better and the fuel consumption will be less.
  • 10) by using this turning system the driver can make much sharper turns then ever before because the stern drive motor proposition steering system unit and propeller blades are never in danger of going out of the water or cavitations out of water. The out board steering motor proposition steering system unit and propeller blades system unit is now turning at an angle, so the boat and the stern drive motor proposition steering system unit or the out board motor proposition steering system unit is now turning together as one unit, on the turning angle, and by doing this, your not loosing any of the water between the propeller blades. With out this steering system, the boat and the stern drive motor propulsion system or out board motor propulsion is completely in line when turning and then what happens, on and sharp or hard turns the propeller blades start to cavitations in the water, and you will now loose all your steering and speed, even throw the motor is still running high.
  • 11) The wing or the wings that are on the rotating stern drive motor steering system, or the out board motor steering system along with the fin or fins at the end of the wings that are movable and flexible, this system has an automatic controlled censors or controlled from the operators station, manually, the choice is up to the operator, will help the boat or other vessel get up on plain a lot faster, and if the operator wants to, they can also get air born and fly above the rough water or choppy water for a smooth and more thrilling ride for as long as they want the feeling of true flight and excitement.
  • 12) The operator has much more control using the angel steering system, so there is less likely to become in an accident because of the added control.
  • 13) The stern drive motor or the out board motor, upper unit and lower unit can extended or contract automatically as the water level may become shallow or deep or if there is an object in the water. The censors will automatically pick up danger and tell the lower unit to go up in to the upper unit, until the danger has pasted and the operator has one less thing to worry about. This safety system is always completely automatic and the drive shaft axels will go up and down automatically, as the upper unit drive axel shaft will go in to the lower drive shaft axel automatically at the same time as the two units moves up or down together the two work at the same time.
  • 14) The advantages of the upper unit and the lower unit to contract or extended automatically with theses specials built in automatic safety censors and vertical pistons will help the out side horizontal pistons and increase the safety as the stern drive unit or out board unit will be able to protect its self at all times and conditions, and this will make boating a lot safer for the operator.
  • 15) Another advantage of the upper and lower units that they can bend, at the same time the operator would turn, this would keep at all time the propeller blade in the water as the turning radius would follow the turn, and there wouldn't be any water cavitations or loss of steering or speed because the propeller blade will all ways be in the water.
  • 16) On the rear of the stern drive motor lower unit or the out board motor lower unit, there is a vertical and a horizontal guard, that also helps to support the main wing. Further more there are censors build right in to the vertical and horizontal guards In case there is an impact against the guard. If that happens, the censors will stop the propeller blade and the motor to help prevent damage to the lower unit or the entire drive system, and also this will help prevent harm to humans, manatees, whales or other living things.
  • 17) The sensors unit computer chips can be in stalled by a simple boot attachment or some other simple attachment, on to existing stern drive motor units or the out board motor units as well. Furthermore this simple device can also be installed on fix horizontal propeller drive shafts but not limited to, any one in the marine field would easily see and understand clearly how effective this system is.
  • 18) This is the only protective automatic safety system that you will be able to be installed on pre-existing stern drive motors, out board motors, or fix drive systems, that will increase there use fullness and be more effective then there pre existing systems, that are very limited at best, and when looking at there designs over the years, there really hasn't been to much of a change especially in safety. This will also help the boater in being more safe, and be able to detect danger, this computer chip that can recognized millions of different objects in less then a split second, and will take evasive actions it self automatically this will give the boat operator, hundreds of feet in advance notice to take the proper actions to avoid an accident, and in boating time that is a lot of advance warning for any boater any where going full speed ahead, just on top of the water, if not just skimming or flying on top of the water it self, automatically as the safety censors will be one more of a safety factor for the boater and passengers, they will come to appreciate more, as this system is in more use, and easy to use, the boating insurance company's will recognized just how much this simple device is saving in claims alone, and later will lower any boat that has this automatic safety device in stalled, and some day will be required on all new boats being built, just as air bag have been required to be installed on all cars thought the world.
