Claims
- 1. A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot in order to trap an insect on the flower pot cover, comprising the steps of:
- providing a pre-formed flower pot cover suitable for disposing on a flower pot, comprising
- a flower pot cover constructed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an inner surface and an outer surface;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect comes into contact with the sticky element;
- providing a flower pot having an outer surface;
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot; and
- disposing the sticky element on at least a portion of one surface of the flower pot cover such that the sticky element is exposed to capture an insect when an insect contacts the sticky element.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
- 7. A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot in order to trap an insect on the flower pot cover, comprising the steps of:
- providing a pre-formed flower pot cover suitable for disposing on the flower pot, comprising
- a flower pot cover constructed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an outer surface and an opening therein forming an inner surface, at least a portion of the sheet of material forming a flange about the opening when the sheet of material is formed into the flower pot cover;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect comes into contact with the sticky element;
- disposing the sticky element on a portion of the flange of the flower pot cover;
- providing a flower pot having an outer surface;
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot; and
- positioning the flange by turning the flange outward such that the sticky element thereon is exposed to capture an insect when an insect contacts at least a portion of the sticky element.
- 8. (New) The method of claim 7, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 9. The method of claim 7, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 10. The method of claim 7, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 11. The method of claim 7, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 12. The method of claim 7, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
- 13. A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot in order to trap an insect on the flower pot cover, comprising the steps of:
- providing a pre-formed flower pot cover suitable for disposing on the flower pot, comprising
- a flower pot cover constructed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an outer surface and an opening therein forming an inner surface, at least a portion of the sheet of material forming a flange about the opening when the sheet of material is formed into the flower pot cover;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect comes into contact with the sticky element;
- providing a flower pot having an outer surface;
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot;
- disposing the sticky element on a portion of the flange of the flower pot cover; and
- positioning the flange by turning the flange outward such that the sticky element thereon is exposed to capture an insect when an insect contacts at least a portion of the sticky element.
- 14. The method of claim 13, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 15. The method of claim 13, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 16. The method of claim 13, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 17. The method of claim 13, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 18. The method of claim 13, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
- 19. A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot in order to trap an insect on the flower pot cover, comprising the steps of:
- providing a pre-formed flower pot cover suitable for disposing on a flower pot, comprising
- a flower pot cover constructed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an inner surface and an outer surface;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect comes into contact with the sticky element, the sticky element having a sticky element disposing means;
- positioning the sticky element disposing means such that when the sticky element is disposed upon the flower pot cover via the sticky element disposing means the sticky element substantially encircles at least a portion of the inner surface of the flower pot cover, said portion of the inner surface being positioned outward such that the sticky element is exposed to capture an insect when an insect contacts the sticky element;
- disposing the sticky element on said portion of the inner surface of the flower pot cover via the sticky element disposing means such that said sticky element encircles at least a portion of the inner surface;
- providing a flower pot having an outer surface; and
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot, wherein the sticky element on the flower pot cover remains exposed to capture an insect after the flower pot is inserted in said flower pot cover.
- 20. The method of claim 19, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 21. The method of claim 19, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 22. The method of claim 19, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 23. The method of claim 19, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 24. The method of claim 19, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
- 25. A method of disposing a flower pot cover on a flower pot in order to trap an insect on the flower pot cover, comprising the steps of:
- providing a pre-formed flower pot cover suitable for disposing on a flower pot, comprising
- a flower pot cover constructed from a sheet of material, the flower pot cover having an inner surface and an outer surface;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect comes into contact with the sticky element, the sticky element having a sticky element disposing means;
- positioning the sticky element disposing means such that when the sticky element is disposed upon the flower pot cover via the sticky element disposing means the sticky element substantially encircles at least a portion of the outer surface of the flower pot cover, said portion of the outer surface being positioned outward such that the sticky element is exposed to capture an insect when an insect contacts the sticky element;
- disposing the sticky element on said portion of the outer surface of the flower pot cover via the sticky element disposing means such that said sticky element encircles at least a portion of the outer surface;
- providing a flower pot having an outer surface; and
- inserting the flower pot into the flower pot cover, the flower pot cover substantially surrounding and covering the outer surface of the flower pot, wherein the sticky element on the flower pot cover remains exposed to capture an insect after the flower pot is inserted in said flower pot cover.
- 26. The method of claim 25, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 27. The method of claim 25, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 28. The method of claim 25, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 29. The method of claim 25, wherein in the step of providing a pre-formed flower pot cover, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 30. The method of claim 25, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
- 31. A method of wrapping a floral arrangement with a wrapping material in order to trap an insect on the wrapping material, comprising the steps of:
- providing a wrapping material comprising a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery, the sheet of material sized to wrap about a floral arrangement;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect contacts the sticky element;
- providing a floral arrangement having a bloom portion and a stem portion;
- disposing the floral arrangement on the sheet of material;
- wrapping the sheet of material about the floral arrangement by overlapping a portion of the sheet of material over another portion of the sheet of material and bonding the overlapping portions of the sheet of material together, the sheet of material substantially encompassing and surrounding a substantial portion of the floral arrangement; and
- disposing the sticky element on at least a portion of one surface of the sheet of material such that the sticky element is exposed on said surface adjacent the bloom portion of the floral arrangement to capture an insect when an insect contacts the sticky element.
- 32. The method of claim 31, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 33. The method of claim 31, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 34. The method of claim 31, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 35. The method of claim 31, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 36. The method of claim 31, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
- 37. A method of wrapping a floral arrangement with a wrapping material in order to trap an insect on the wrapping material, comprising the steps of:
- providing a wrapping material comprising a sheet of material having an upper surface, a lower surface, and an outer periphery, the sheet of material sized to wrap about a floral arrangement;
- providing a sticky element comprising sufficient sticky qualities to cause an insect to become permanently attached to the sticky element when any portion of an insect contacts the sticky element;
- providing a floral arrangement having a bloom portion and a stem portion;
- disposing the sticky element on at least a portion of one surface of the sheet of material;
- disposing the floral arrangement on the sheet of material;
- positioning said portion of said surface of the sheet of material having the sticky element thereon such that the sticky element is exposed adjacent the bloom portion of the floral arrangement to capture an insect when an insect contacts the sticky element; and
- wrapping the sheet of material about the floral arrangement by overlapping a portion of the sheet of material over another portion of the sheet of material and bonding the overlapping portions of the sheet of material together, the sheet of material substantially encompassing and surrounding a substantial portion of the floral arrangement, wherein the sticky element on said portion of said surface of said sheet of material remains exposed to capture an insect after the floral arrangement has been wrapped by the sheet of material.
- 38. The method of claim 37, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of paper, cellophane, foil, polymer film, fiber, burlap, and any combination thereof.
- 39. The method of claim 37, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting scent.
- 40. The method of claim 37, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material further comprises an insect attracting color.
- 41. The method of claim 37, wherein in the step of providing a wrapping material, the sheet of material further comprises an insecticide.
- 42. The method of claim 37, wherein in the step of providing a sticky element, the sticky element further comprises an adhesive.
