Claims
- 1. A method for stimulating hair-growth on an animal in need thereof, comprising administering to the animal an effective amount of a peptide-copper complex having the structure:
- [R.sub.1 --R.sub.2 --R.sub.3 ]:copper (II)
- wherein R.sub.1 is an amino acid or amino acid derivative, R.sub.2 is histidine or arginine; and R.sub.3 is a chemical moiety joined to R.sub.2 by an amide bond, wherein R.sub.3 is --NH.sub.2, an alkylamino moiety having from 1-20 carbon atoms or an arylamino moiety having from 6-20 carbon atoms.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 is an amino acid.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein R.sub.2 is histidine.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein R.sub.2 is arginine.
