- 8. Stirrup according to claim 7, wherein the inner hollow spaces run across the direction of a load caused by a rider's shoe.
- 9. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is substantially non-elastic.
- 10. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is exchangeably and removably connected to the crossbar.
- 11. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is an elastomer block.
- 12. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is made of a material which has an elasticoviscous behavior.
- 13. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body has a slope running crosswise to the crossbar.
- 14. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is a rubber block.
- 15. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is provided with inner hollow spaces.
- 16. Stirrup according to claim 15, wherein the inner hollow spaces run across the direction of a load caused by a rider's shoe.
- 17. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is substantially non-elastic.
- 18. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is exchangeably and removably connected to the crossbar.
- 19. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is an elastomer block.

- 30. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is a rubber block.
- 31. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is provided with inner hollow spaces.
- 32. Stirrup according to claim 31, wherein the inner hollow spaces run across the direction of a load caused by a rider's shoe.
- 33. Stirrup according to claim 1, wherein the damping body is substantially non-elastic.
- 34. A stirrup, comprising:a crossbar that supports a rider's shoe during riding; an upper portion having fastening means for a carrying belt of said stirrup; and a damping body arranged on the stirrup between the crossbar and the rider's shoe, wherein the damping body deflects more readily than it rebounds; wherein the thickness of the damping body is between approximately 23 and 40 mm.
- 35. A stirrup, comprising:a crossbar that supports a rider's shoe during riding; an upper portion having fastening means for a carrying belt of said stirrup; and a damping body arranged on the stirrup between the crossbar and the rider's shoe, wherein the damping body deflects more readily than it rebounds; wherein the damping body has an upper surface on which the rider's shoe can rest during riding, the upper surface being substantially parallel to the crossbar, in a transverse direction.
- 36. A stirrup, comprising:a crossbar that supports a rider's shoe during riding; an upper portion having fastening means for a carrying belt of said stirrup; and a damping body arranged on the stirrup between the crossbar and the rider's shoe; wherein the damping body has a plate surrounding the rider's shoe, wherein the damping body deflects more readily than it rebounds; and wherein the plate is connected to a shock absorber arranged on the crossbar.
