Claims
- 1. A display article for displaying printed images comprisinga base having a generally flat upper surface, said upper surface being arranged to receive the printed images, encapsulating means being affixed to an area of said generally flat upper surface for encapsulating the printed images and defining a perimeter around the printed images, and an ink barrier being applied to said generally flat upper surface for defining said area and retaining said encapsulating means, said ink barrier being applied on said upper surface and creating a barrier on said upper surface for defining said perimeter and confining the encapsulating means, said ink barrier having an upper surface on which said encapsulating means contacts and creates said perimeter.
- 2. The display article according to claim 1 wherein the upper surface of said base is formed by a plastic material.
- 3. The display article according to claim 1 wherein said encapsulating means forms a dome over said area.
- 4. The display article according to claim 3 wherein said dome is fabricated from a flowable material.
- 5. The display article according to claim 4 wherein said flowable material is polyurethane.
- 6. The display article according to claim 1 wherein said base is a substrate having an upper flat plastic layer and a lower stitchable layer having a flat configuration with border portions extending beyond said plastic layer to permit stitching.
- 7. A display article comprisinga base having printed images on an upper surface, said upper surface being generally flat, a hardened dome being formed from a flowable material for encapsulating said printing images in an area on said upper surface, said dome being connected to said base along a perimeter defining a predetermined area, said perimeter being defined by an ink barrier being applied on said upper surface and containing said dome, and said base having border portions extending beyond said perimeter in coplanar relationship to said area and forming portions to permit mechanical fastening of said base to an item.
