STONE SLAB WITH FASTENERS

Abstract
A stone slab with fasteners has two chambers respectively defined at two sides thereof. Two fasteners are respectively secured in the chambers. The fasteners each have a central portion. A first wing is formed at a first end of the central portion, and perpendicular to the central portion. The first wing has a hole defined therethrough. A second wing is formed at a second end of the central portion, perpendicular to the central portion, and extending oppositely to the first wing. The second wing has two straight edges respectively formed at a top and a bottom thereof, and two arcuate hooks respectively extending inwards from the straight edges. The second wings of the fasteners are received in the respective chambers. Whereby, a plurality of stone slabs can be installed on a frame on a wall by screws inserted through the holes.
Description


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention is related to a constructional material, and more particularly to a stone slab with fasteners.


[0003] 2. Description of Related Art


[0004] Buildings or constructions usually have stone slabs such as marble slabs covering outer walls for economically improving the external appearance of the building. The stone slabs are installed on the outer walls by fasteners secured thereon.


[0005] Referring to FIG. 6, a conventional stone slab has two channels longitudinally defined through two side surfaces thereof. Two fasteners are respectively securely received in the channels. Each of the fasteners has a central portion, and two bending portions respectively formed at two ends of the central portion and perpendicular to the central portion. The first bending portion has a plurality of teeth and notches alternately formed thereon and is embedded in the respective channel. The second bending portion is engaged with a frame (not shown) on an outer wall of a building. Thus, the stone slab can be installed on the outer wall.


[0006] However, the conventional stone slab has some shortcomings as following:


[0007] 1. The strength of the stone slab is weakened by the channels longitudinally defined through the side surface of the stone slab.


[0008] 2. In a situation of a shock such as an earthquake, the first bending portion has a great chance of escaping from the channel, and the stone slab will drop down to certainly fracture and possibly cause an accident.


[0009] 3. It is very inconvenient to process the channels and secure the first bending portions in the channels, and a manufacture cost of the stone slab is high.


[0010] Therefore, the invention provides a stone slab with fasteners to mitigate and/or obviate the aforementioned problems.



SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0011] The main objective of the invention is to provide a stone slab with fasteners that has a reinforced strength.


[0012] Another objective of the invention is to provide a stone slab with fasteners that can be installed securely.


[0013] A further objective of the invention is to provide a stone slab with fasteners that is convenient to manufacture and install.


[0014] Another objective of the invention is to provide a stone slab with fasteners of which a manufacturing cost is low.


[0015] Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0022] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, in accordance with the invention, a stone slab (40) has two fasteners (10) respectively provided at two sides thereof.


[0023] Each of the fasteners (10) has an S-like cross-section and is composed of a central portion (not numbered), two wings (12, 30) respectively formed at two ends of the central portion and extending oppositely and perpendicular to the central portion. The first wing (12) has a hole (14) defined therethrough. The U-like second wing (30) has two straight edges (32, 34) respectively formed at a top and a bottom thereof, and two arcuate hooks (36, 38) respectively extending inwards from the straight edges (32, 34).


[0024] The stone slab (40) has two arcuate chambers (42) defined at the sides thereof and at an upper position and a lower position respectively. The arcuate chambers (42) each have two straight portions (not numbered), one at an upper point, the other at a lower point, formed adjacent the side surface of the stone slab (40).


[0025] In assembling, referring to FIGS. 3-5, the second wings (30) are respectively received in the arcuate chambers (42) of the stone slab (40), wherein the straight edges (32, 34) are respectively abutted the straight portions of the chambers (42). Afterwards, resin is poured in the arcuate chambers (42) to secure the second wings (30) in the chambers (42).


[0026] Used for decorating a building, a plurality of stone slabs (40) is installed on a frame (20) on an outer wall by screws inserted through the holes (14).


[0027] From the above description, it is noted that the invention has the following advantages:


[0028] 1. Because there are only two arcuate chambers defined in the stone slab, the strength of the stone slab is high. The curvature of the chambers eliminates stress and fracture points found in prior art cornered channels.


[0029] 2. The stone slab is stably supported by the fasteners, so that it is impossible for the stone slab to drop even if in a situation of a great shock.


[0030] 3. It is very convenient for workers to assemble the fasteners in the stone slab and install the stone slabs on a building.


[0031] 4. Because of the simple shape of the fastener, it is easy to manufacture and a cost of the product is low.

Claims
  • 1. A stone slab (40) with fasteners (10), the stone slab comprising: two chambers (42) respectively defined at two sides thereof; and two fasteners (10) respectively secured in the chambers (42), wherein the fasteners (10) each have a central portion; a first wing (12) formed at a first end of the central portion, and perpendicular to the central portion, the first wing (12) having a hole (14) defined therethrough; and a second wing (30) received in the respective chamber (42), the second wing (30) formed at a second end of the central portion, perpendicular to the central portion, and extending oppositely to the first wing (12), the second wing (30) having two straight edges (32, 34) respectively formed at a top and a bottom thereof, and two arcuate hooks (36, 38) respectively extending inwards from the straight edges (32, 34), whereby, a plurality of stone slabs (40) can be installed on a frame (20) on a wall of a building by screws inserted through the holes (14).
  • 2. The stone slab as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second wing (30) is U-like.
  • 3. The stone slab as claimed in claim 2, wherein the chambers (42) are arcuate and defined at an upper position and a lower position respectively.
  • 4. The stone slab as claimed in claim 3, wherein each of the chambers (42) is filled with resin to secure the fasteners in the stone slab (40).
