Abstract
A storage assembly for vacuum sealing objects in a suitcase includes the suitcase. A bag is coupled to the suitcase. The bag is positioned within an interior of the suitcase. The bag may contain a plurality of objects. A pump is coupled to the suitcase. The pump is in communication with the bag. The pump urges air outwardly from the bag. The bag may collapse around the plurality of objects so additional space is created within the bag.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to storage devices and more particularly pertains to a new storage device for vacuum sealing objects in a suitcase.


SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a suitcase. A bag is coupled to the suitcase. The bag is positioned within an interior of the suitcase. The bag may contain a plurality of objects. A pump is coupled to the suitcase. The pump is in communication with the bag. The pump urges air outwardly from the bag. The bag may collapse around the plurality of objects so additional space is created within the bag.


There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.


The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new storage device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.


As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the storage assembly 10 generally comprises a suitcase 12. The suitcase 12 may be of any conventional design. Indicia 14 is printed on a bottom surface 16 of a lid 18 of the suitcase 12. The indicia 14 may comprise the words “Not intended for children under the age of 14”. A bag 20 is provided. The bag 20 has an outer wall 22.


A top side 24 of the outer wall 22 of the bag 20 has a cut 21 extending between each of a first 26 and a second 28 lateral side of the outer wall 22 of the bag 20 to access an interior of the bag 20. The bag 20 is positioned within an interior of the suitcase 12. Additionally, the bag 20 may contain a plurality of objects 30. The plurality of objects 30 may be articles of clothing. The bag 20 may be comprised of an air-impermeable material.


A coupler 32 is coupled to the cut 21 on the bag 20. The coupler 32 selectively closes the cut 21 on the bag 20. Moreover, the coupler 32 forms an airtight seal. The coupler 32 selectively opens the cut 21 on the bag 20. The coupler 32 may be a zipper of any conventional design.


A housing 34 is provided. The housing 34 has an outer wall 36. A back side 38 of the outer wall 36 of the housing 34 is coupled to an outer surface 40 of the suitcase 12. A pump 42 is coupled to the housing 34. The pump 42 is positioned within an interior of the housing 34. The pump 42 may be an electrical air pump of any conventional design.


A suction port 44 is coupled to the back side 38 of the outer wall 36 of the housing 34. The suction port 44 extends through the suitcase 12. Moreover, the suction port 44 is fluidly coupled between an interior of the bag 20 and the pump 42. The pump 42 urges air outwardly from the bag 20. The bag 20 may collapse around the plurality of objects 30 so additional space is created within the bag 20.


An exhaust 48 is coupled to a first lateral side 50 of the outer wall 36 of the housing 34. The exhaust 48 is in fluid communication with the pump 42. The pump 42 urges air outwardly through the exhaust 48. The exhaust 48 may comprise a plurality of vents.


An actuator 52 is coupled to a front side 54 of the outer wall 36 of the housing 34.


The actuator 52 is electrically coupled to the pump 42. Additionally, the actuator 52 actuates and de-actuates the pump 42. The actuator 52 receives a key 56 in order for the actuator 52 to actuate and de-actuate the pump 42. The key 56 may be a key to the suitcase 12.


An auxiliary port 58 is coupled to the front side 54 of the outer wall 36 of the housing 34. The auxiliary port 58 is fluidly coupled to the pump 42. Additionally, the auxiliary port 58 may be fluidly coupled to an external vacuum 60. The external vacuum 60 may be used to urge the air outwardly from the bag 20 in lieu of the pump 42.


A power supply 62 is coupled to the housing 12. The power supply 62 is electrically coupled to the actuator 52. The power supply 62 comprises at least one battery 64.


In use, the plurality of objects 30 are packed into the bag 20. The bag 20 is closed with the coupler 32. Continuing, the pump 42 is actuated so the bag 20 deflates around the plurality of objects 30. The bag 20 may be opened and additional objects 30 may be positioned within the bag 20. The bag 20 is deflated again with the pump 42. The pump 42 and the bag 20 increases the number of objects 30 that can be positioned within the suitcase 12.


With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.


Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims
  • 1. A storage assembly comprising: a suitcase;a bag coupled to said suitcase, said bag being positioned within an interior of said suitcase such that said bag is configured to contain a plurality of objects; anda pump coupled to said suitcase such that said pump is in communication with said bag, said pump urging air outwardly from said bag such that said bag is configured to collapse around the plurality of objects wherein additional space is created within said bag.
  • 2. The storage assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said bag having an outer wall, a top side of said outer wall of said bag having a cut extending between each of a first and a second lateral side of said outer wall of said bag to access an interior of said bag.
  • 3. The storage assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a coupler coupled to said cut on said bag, said coupler selectively closing said cut on said bag such that said coupler forms an airtight seal, said coupler selectively opening said cut on said bag.
  • 4. The storage assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a housing having an outer wall, a back side of said outer wall of said housing being coupled to an outer surface of said suitcase.
  • 5. The assembly according to claim 4, further comprising said pump being coupled to said housing such that said pump is positioned within an interior of said housing.
  • 6. The storage assembly according to claim 4, further comprising a suction port coupled to said back side of said outer wall of said housing.
  • 7. The storage assembly according to claim 6, further comprising said suction port extending through said suitcase such that said suction port is fluidly coupled between an interior of said bag and said pump.
  • 8. The storage assembly according to claim 4, further comprising an exhaust coupled to a first lateral side of said outer wall of said housing.
  • 9. The storage assembly according to claim 8, further comprising said exhaust being in fluid communication with said pump such that said pump urges air outwardly through said exhaust.
  • 10. The storage assembly according to claim 4, further comprising an actuator coupled to a front side of said outer wall of said housing.
  • 11. The storage assembly according to claim 10, further comprising said actuator being electrically coupled to said pump such that said actuator actuates and de-actuates said pump.
  • 12. The storage assembly according to claim 4, further comprising a power supply coupled to said housing.
  • 13. The storage assembly according to claim 12, further comprising said power supply being electrically coupled to an actuator.
  • 14. The storage assembly according to claim 13, further comprising said power supply comprising at least one battery.
  • 15. A storage assembly comprising: a suitcase;a bag, said bag having an outer wall, a top side of said outer wall of said bag having a cut extending between each of a first and a second lateral side of said outer wall of said bag to access an interior of said bag, said bag being positioned within an interior of said suitcase such that said bag is configured to contain a plurality of objects;a coupler coupled to said cut on said bag, said coupler selectively closing said cut on said bag such that said coupler forms an airtight seal, said coupler selectively opening said cut on said bag;a housing having an outer wall, a back side of said outer wall of said housing being coupled to an outer surface of said suitcase;a pump coupled to said housing such that said pump is positioned within an interior of said housing;a suction port coupled to said back side of said outer wall of housing, said suction port extending through said suitcase such that said suction port is fluidly coupled between an interior of said bag and said pump, said pump urging air outwardly from said bag such that said bag is configured to collapse around the plurality of objects wherein additional space is created within said bag;an exhaust coupled to a first lateral side of said outer wall of said housing, said exhaust being in fluid communication with said pump such that said pump urges air outwardly through said exhaust;an actuator coupled to a front side of said outer wall of said housing, said actuator being electrically coupled to said pump such that said actuator actuates and de-actuates said pump; anda power supply coupled to said housing, said power supply being electrically coupled to said actuator, said power supply comprising at least one battery.
