The disclosure relates to storage assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new storage assembly for storing and protecting wigs. The present invention discloses a storage assembly for wigs comprising a cabinet configured for positioning of wigs therein, such that the cabinet shields the wigs from the environment.
The prior art relates to storage assemblies for wigs. Such art storage assemblies may comprise stands upon which multiple wigs can be positioned. The stands are open and the wigs are exposed to the environment in which the stand is positioned. What is lacking in the prior art is a storage assembly for wigs comprising a cabinet configured for positioning of wigs therein, such that the cabinet shields the wigs from the environment.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cabinet and a plurality of forms. The cabinet has a front, which is open. A door hingedly engaged to the cabinet is positioned to selectively close the front. A set of shelves is engaged to and positioned within the cabinet. Each form is engaged to a respective shelf or a bottom of the cabinet and is configured to have positioned thereupon a respective wig so that the respective wig is engaged thereto.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A set of castors 24 is rotationally engaged to a bottom 26 of the cabinet 12. The castors 24 are configured to allow locomotion of the cabinet 12 upon a surface. The set of castors 24 comprises four castors 24 positioned singly proximate to corners 28 of the bottom 26. The castors 24 positioned proximate to the front 16 of the cabinet 12 are selectively lockable so that the castors 24 are prevented from rotating.
A first connector 30 is engaged to one door 20 of the pair of doors 20. A second connector 32 is engaged to the other door 20 of the pair of doors 20. The second connector 32 is complementary to the first connector 30. The second connector 32 is positioned to selectively engage the first connector 30 to secure the pair of doors 20 across the front 16 of the cabinet 12. The second connector 32 may comprise a latch 34 and the first connector 30 may comprise a striker 36, as shown in
Each of a pair of knobs 38 is engaged to a respective door 20 of the pair of doors 20. The knob 38 is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user so that the user is positioned to pull on the knob 38 to open the respective door 20. A respective knob 38 is engaged to the latch 34 and is rotatable relative to the door 20 to which the respective knob 38 is engaged. The respective knob 38 is configured to be turned to selectively engage the latch 34 to the striker 36.
A set of shelves 40 is engaged to and positioned within the cabinet 12. Each shelf 40 extends between the opposed sides 22 of the cabinet 12. Each shelf 40 is positioned substantially equally distant from the front 16 and the back 18 of the cabinet 12. Each shelf 40 has a depth 42, which is less than a separation 44 between the front 16 and the back 18 of the cabinet 12. The shelf 40 thus is separated by a first gap 46 from the back 18 and by a second gap 48 from the front 16.
The set of shelves 40 and the cabinet 12 define a plurality of chambers 50. Each chamber 50 has a respective height 52 so that the plurality of chambers 50 comprises chambers 50 having a variety of heights 52. The plurality of chambers 50 may comprise an upper compartment 54, a medial compartment 56, and a lower compartment 58, as shown in
Each form 14 is engaged to a respective shelf 40 or the bottom 26 of the cabinet 12 and is configured to have positioned thereupon a respective wig so that the respective wig is engaged thereto. The plurality of forms 14 may comprise nine forms 14 positioned three apiece in each of the upper compartment 54, the medial compartment 56, and the lower compartment 58, as shown in
Each form 14 comprises a post 60 and a block 62, with the block 62 being engaged to the post 60 distal from an associated shelf 40 or the bottom 26 of the cabinet 12. The block 62 is substantially spherically shaped and thus is complementary to a foundation of a wig. Each post 60 has a respective length 64 so that the plurality of forms 14 comprises forms 14 having posts 60 of a variety of lengths 64. The forms 14 positioned in the upper compartment 54 have posts 60 of greater length 64 than the forms 14 positioned in the medial compartment 56. The forms 14 positioned in the medial compartment 56 have posts 60 of greater length 64 than the forms 14 positioned in the lower compartment 58. The forms 14 positioned in the upper compartment 54, the medial compartment 56, and the lower compartment 58 are configured to have long wigs, medium wigs, and short wigs positioned thereupon, respectively.
The cabinet 12 may be one of a pair of cabinets 12, as shown in
The top 70 of the lower cabinet 72 has a set of pegs 74 extending therefrom. The lower end 68 of the upper cabinet 66 has a set of holes 76 extending thereinto. Each peg 74 is selectively insertable into a respective hole 76 to selectively engage the upper cabinet 66 to the lower cabinet 72. The set of pegs 74 comprises four pegs 74 positioned singly proximate to each corner 78 of the top 70.
In use, the cabinet 12 is positioned in a desired location by rolling it upon the castors 24. The doors 20 can be opened, to allow a user to position wigs upon the forms 14, and then closed. Longer wigs positioned on forms 14 in the upper compartment 54 can hang through the second gap 48 into the medial compartment 56. Medium wigs positioned on forms 14 in the medial compartment 56 can hang through the second gap 48 into the lower compartment 58. Short wigs can be positioned on forms 14 in the lower compartment 58. The wigs thus stored are not subject to matting and are protected from the environment in which the cabinet 12 is positioned. The doors 20 can be reopened when access to the wigs is required.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
