Claims
- 1. A stowable cargo restraining assembly for a transport vehicle comprising:a securement structure formed with a mounting assembly for mounting to said transport vehicle in abutting relation to a portion of a wall defining a cargo apace in said transport vehicle, said securement structure defining a barrier storage cavity therein; a barrier support structure mounted to said securement structure for movement of said barrier support structure between a stowed position within said barrier storage cavity and a position extending outwardly therefrom into said cargo space; and a barrier member coupled to said barrier support structure for stowing in said barrier storage cavity and movable to a deployed position in said cargo space for limiting movement of cargo when said barrier support structure is in the position extending outwardly from said barrier support cavity; wherein, said securement structure is provided by a bed liner structure having said barrier storage cavity therein and a movable mount provided proximate said barrier storage cavity; and said barrier support structure is coupled to said movable mount for movement to said stowed position substantially inside said barrier storage cavity.
- 2. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 1, wherein,said barrier support structure is provided as a barrier housing configured to be moved to said position substantially inside said barrier storage cavity; and said barrier member is a flexible barrier having sufficient flexibility to be stored in a rolled up condition in said barrier housing, said flexible barrier being mounted in said barrier housing for unrolling therefrom when said barrier housing is moved to extend into said space to enable positioning of said flexible barrier in said deployed position.
- 3. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in clain 2 wherein,said mounting assembly is provided by a bed liner structure having said barrier storage cavity formed to receive said barrier housing therein when said barrier housing is in said stowed position.
- 4. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 1 wherein,said barrier support structure is coupled to said securement structure within said barrier storage cavity.
- 5. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 4 wherein,said barrier support structure is pivotally mounted to said securement structure within said barrier storage cavity.
- 6. A stowable cargo restraining assembly for a transport vehicle comprising:a securement structure formed with a mounting assembly for mounting to said transport vehicle in abutting relation to a portion of a wall defining a cargo space in said transport vehicle, said securement structure defining a barrier storage cavity therein; a barrier support structure mounted to said securement structure for movement of said barrier support structure between a stowed position within said barrier storage cavity and a position extending outwardly therefrom into said cargo space; and a barrier member coupled to said barrier support structure for stowing in said barrier storage cavity and movable to a deployed position in said cargo space for limiting movement of cargo when said barrier support structure is in the position extending outwardly from said barrier support cavity; wherein, said barrier member is a flexible barrier; and movement of said barrier support structure to a position extending into said storage space for deployment of said flexible barrier and movement of said flexible barrier to said deployed position, enables said flexible barrier to encircle at least a portion of said cargo supported on a floor defining said cargo space to limit lateral movement thereof.
- 7. A stowable cargo restraining barrier assembly for a transport vehicle comprising:a bed liner structure formed for positioning in said transport vehicle in abutting relation to a portion of a wall defining a cargo space in said transport vehicle, said bed liner structure including a barrier storage cavity therein: a barrier support structure mounted to said bed liner structure for movement of said barrier support structure between a stowed position within said barrier storage cavity and a position extending outwardly therefrom into said cargo space; and a barrier member coupled to said barrier supoort structure for stowing in said barrier storage cavity and movable to a deployed position in said cargo space for limiting movement of cargo; wherein, said barrier member is a sheet of flexible material providing a flexible barrier member; wherein, said barrier support structure is provided by an elongated barrier housing dimensioned to fit substantially within said barrier storage cavity, and an elongated axle mounted for rotation inside said housing; and said flexible barrier member is connected along a side thereof to said axle and has a length dimensioned outwardly from said axle sufficient to encircle a portion of a piece of cargo to be restrained.
- 8. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 7 wherein,said bed liner structure includes a pivot assembly pivotally coupling one end of said barrier housing to said bed liner structure for movement of said barrier support structure.
- 9. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 8 wherein,said bed liner structure is formed for mounting in said cargo space; and said pivot assembly is formed for pivoting of said barrier support structure to a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to a portion of said bed liner structure to which said barrier support structure is mounted.
- 10. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 9 wherein;said flexible barrier member includes a securement device positioned proximate a distal end of a length of said flexible barrier member.
- 11. The stowable cargo restrainig assembly as defined in claim 7 wherein,a biasing mechanism is coupled between said axle and said barrier housing for biasing said flexible barrier member to roll up on said axle in said barrier housing.
- 12. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 7 wherein,said barrier member is provided by one of an imperforate and a perforate flexible sheet member selected from the group including: flexible metal sheets, flexile plastic sheets, and flexible fabric sheets.
- 13. A stowable cargo restraining assembly for a transport vehicle comprising:a bed liner structure formed for positioning in abutting relation to a portion of a wall defining a cargo space in said transport vehicle, said bed liner structure including a barrier storage cavity therein; a barrier support structure mounted to said bed liner structure for movement of said barrier support structure between a stowed position in said barrier storage cavity and a position extending outwardly therefrom into said cargo space; and a barrrier member coupled to said barrier support structure for stowing in said barrier storage cavity and movable to a deployed position in said cargo space for limiting movement of cargo; wherein said barrier member is a sheet of flexible material providing a flexible barrier member; wherein said barrier support structure is provided by an elongated barrier housing dimensioned to fit substantially within said barrier storage cavity; and an elongated axle mounted for rotation inside said housing; and said flexible barrier is connected along a side thereof to said axle and has a lenth dimensioned outwardly from said axle sufficient to encircle a portion of a piece of cargo to be restrained; wherein said bed liner structure includes a pivot assembly pivotally coupling one end of said barrier housing to said bed liner structure for movement of said barrier support structure; wherein said bed liner structure is formed for mounting in said cargo space; and said pivot assembly is formed for pivoting of said barrier support structure to a substantially perpendicular orientation relative to a portion of said bed liner structure to which said barrier support structure is mounted; wherein said flexible barrier member includes a securement device positioned proximate a distal end of a length of said flexible barrier member; and wherein a coupler structure is mounted to an external surface of said barrier housing to permit mating cooperation with said securement device on said flexible barrier member.
- 14. A stowable cargo restraining assembly for a transport vehicle comprising:a bed liner structure formed for positioning in abutting relation to a portion of a wall defining a cargo space in a said transport vehicle, said bed liner structure includes a plurality of barrier storage cavities; a first barrier support structure mounted to said bed liner structure for movement of said first barrier support structure between a first stowed position in a first one of said barrier storage cavities and a first extended position extending outwardly therefrom into said cargo space; and a first barrier member coupled to said first barrrier support structure for stowing in said first one of said barrier storage cavities and movable to a first deployed position in said cargo space for limiting movement of cargo; a second barrier support structure mounted to said bed liner structure in a second of said barrier storage cavities for movement of said second barrier support structure between a stowed position in said second barrier storage cavity and a position extending outwardly therefrom into said cargo space; and a second barrier member coupled to said second barrier support structure for stowing in said second barrier cavity and movable to a second deployed position in said cargo space for limiting movement of cargo.
- 15. The stowage cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 14 wherein,said first barrier member and said second barrier member are formed for coupling in cooperative interengagement to restrain cargo when deployed.
- 16. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 14 wherein,said first barrier member and said second barrier member are provided as sheet-like flexible barrier members.
- 17. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 16 wherein,said first barrier support structure and said second barrier support structure each provided with a rotable axle and mounting assembly therefor; and each of said flexible barrier members is mounted to one of the axles for movement between a rolled up condition on the respective axle for stowing and an extended condition extending away from the respective axle for deployment.
- 18. The stowable cargo restraining assembly as defined in claim 17 wherein,said first barrier support structure and said second barrier support structure each include a barrier housing substantially enclosing said axles and formed with an elongated slot therein dimensioned for deployment of said flexible barrier member therthrough.
