Claims
- 1. A berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel comprising:
an elongate support shaft having a longitudinal axis and first and second opposing ends; first and second generally duplicate end plates, one affixed to and adjacent to but spaced from respective each said first and second ends of said support shaft, each said end plate including a plurality of connection points regularly spaced along the periphery thereof, said periphery of said end plates forming a generally drum-like plane; a plurality of generally identical elongate bars affixed to each end plate, each said bar being generally symmetrical and hat-shaped in plan view made up of a generally concave portion with first and second opposing ends, said concave portion opening outwardly toward said drum-like plane; and each of said first and second ends of each said bar affixed to one of said plurality of connection points on each said end plate.
- 2. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 1, wherein:
each said bar has a generally identical flat horizontal portion on each of said first and second ends of said concave portion.
- 3. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 2, wherein:
said concave portion opens generally radially outwardly along a radial plane through said longitudinal axis of said support shaft.
- 4. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 3, wherein:
each said bar has a generally flat cross-section.
- 5. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 4, wherein:
said connection points are slots, and said bars fit into said slots.
- 6. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 5, further including:
a generally inverted u-shaped support yoke affixed to said first and second ends of said support shaft such that said reel may rotate freely within the support yoke.
- 7. The conditioning rotary reel of claim 6, wherein:
said end plates are generally circular in plan view and include semi-circular scalloped edges between adjacent slots.
- 8. In a conditioning rotary reel having an elongate support shaft having a longitudinal axis and first and second opposing ends;
first and second generally duplicate end plates, one affixed to and adjacent to but spaced from respective each said first and second ends of said support shaft, each said end plate including a plurality of connection points regularly spaced along the periphery thereof, said periphery of said end plates forming a generally drum-like plane, the improvement comprising: a plurality of generally identical elongate bars affixed to each end plate, each said bar being generally symmetrical and hat-shaped in plan view made up of a generally concave portion with first and second opposing ends, said concave portion opening radially outwardly toward said drum-like plane; and each of said first and second ends of each said bar affixed to one of said plurality of connection points on each said end plate.
- 9. The improvement of claim 8, wherein:
each said bar has a generally identical flat horizontal portion on each of said first and second ends of said concave portion.
- 10. The improvement of claim 9, wherein:
each said bar has a generally flat cross-section.
- 11. The improvement of claim 10, wherein:
said concave portion opens generally radially outwardly along a radial plane through said longitudinal axis of said support shaft.
- 12. The improvement of claim 11, wherein:
said connection points are slots, and said bars fit into said slots.
- 13. The improvement of claim 12, further including:
a generally inverted u-shaped support yoke affixed to said first and second ends of said support shaft such that said reel may rotate freely within the support yoke.
- 14. The conditioning rotary reel of claim 13, wherein:
said end plates are generally circular in plan view and include semi-circular scalloped edges between adjacent slots.
- 15. A berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel comprising:
an elongate support shaft having a longitudinal axis and first and second opposing ends; first and second generally duplicate end plates, one affixed to and adjacent to but spaced from respective each said first and second ends of said support shaft, each said end plate including a plurality of connection points comprising slots regularly spaced along the periphery thereof; a plurality of generally identical elongate bars affixed to each end plate, each said bar being of generally flat cross-section and generally symmetrical hat-shaped in plan view made up of a generally concave portion with first and second ends and a generally identical flat horizontal portion on each said first and second ends of said concave portion, said concave portion opening radially outwardly along a radial plane through said longitudinal axis of said support shaft; and each said horizontal portion of each said bar fitted in one of said plurality of slots on each said end plate.
- 16. The conditioning rotary reel of claim 15, further including:
a generally inverted u-shaped support yoke affixed to said first and second ends of said support shaft such that said reel may rotate freely within the support yoke.
- 17. The conditioning rotary reel of claim 16, wherein:
said end plates are generally circular in plan view and include semi-circular scalloped edges between adjacent slots.
- 18. A berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel comprising:
an elongate support shaft having a longitudinal axis and first and second opposing ends; first and second generally duplicate end plates, one affixed to and adjacent to but spaced from respective each said first and second ends of said support shaft, each said end plate including a plurality of connection points regularly spaced along the periphery thereof, said periphery of said end plates forming a generally drum-like plane; a plurality of generally identical elongate bars affixed to each end plate, each said bar being generally symmetrical and made up of a generally convex portion with first and second opposing ends, said convex portion opening inwardly toward said support shaft; and each of said first and second ends of each said bar affixed to one of said plurality of connection points on each said end plate.
- 19. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 18, wherein:
each said bar has a generally identical flat horizontal portion on each of said first and second ends of said convex portion.
- 20. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 19, wherein:
said convex portion opens generally radially inwardly along a radial plane through said longitudinal axis of said support shaft.
- 21. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 20, wherein:
each said bar has a generally flat cross-section.
- 22. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 21, wherein:
said connection points are slots, and said bars fit into said slots.
- 23. The berm-shaping conditioning rotary reel of claim 22, further including:
a generally inverted u-shaped support yoke affixed to said first and second ends of said support shaft such that said reel may rotate freely within the support yoke.
- 24. The conditioning rotary reel of claim 23, wherein:
said end plates are generally circular in plan view and include semi-circular scalloped edges between adjacent slots.
