Claims
- 1. A structural fastener bracket adapted for being secured to a supporting structure by a screw having a head, the structural fastener bracket comprising:
a first plate having a clearance hole with at least enough clearance for the head of the screw to pass therethrough; a second plate disposed substantially parallel to and spaced apart from said first plate, said first plate being superimposed upon said second plate in plan view, said second plate having a countersunk hole which is adapted for being engaged by the head of the screw, said countersunk hole being in registry with said clearance hole; and a third plate extending between said first plate and said second plate to thereby fix said first plate relative to said second plate, said first, second and third plates are substantially rectangular.
- 2. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 1, wherein said third plate has a thickness dimension, and said first plate and said second plate are of constant thickness with increasing distance from said third plate when the structural fastener bracket is viewed in side elevation by a viewer along a line of sight perpendicular to the thickness dimension of said third plate and passing intermediate said first plate and said second plate.
- 3. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 1, wherein said third plate has a thickness dimension, said first plate and said second plate are substantially rectangular in plan view, said third plate has a length substantially equal to a diameter of said first plate, and a plane cooperatively defined by a diameter of said first plate and a diameter of said second plate bisects the thickness dimension of said third plate.
- 4. A structural fastener bracket adapted for being secured to a supporting structure by a pair of screws each having a head, the structural fastener bracket comprising:
a first plate having a first edge, a second edge, a first face, a second face, and a width, said first plate being substantially rectangular, and said first plate having a pair of countersunk holes each being adapted for engagement by the head of a respective one of the pair of screws; a first wedge projecting from said first face of said first plate, said first wedge being attached to said first plate along said first edge; and a second wedge projecting from said first face of said first plate intermediate said first wedge and said second edge of said first plate, said second wedge being attached to said first plate along the width of said first plate, said second wedge being disposed substantially parallel to and spaced apart from said first wedge, said first wedge and said second wedge being superimposed in plan view, and said pair of countersunk holes being located intermediate said second wedge and said second edge of said first plate.
- 5. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 4, wherein said first plate has a thickness dimension, said first wedge and said second wedge being of constant thickness with increasing distance from said first plate when the structural fastener bracket is viewed in side elevation by a viewer along a line of sight perpendicular to the thickness dimension of said first plate and parallel to the width of said first plate.
- 6. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 4, wherein said first plate has a thickness dimension, said first wedge and said second wedge are substantially rectangular in plan view.
- 7. A rectangular structural fastener bracket comprising, in combination with a supporting structure fastened thereto by at least one mechanical fasteners and wherein said bracket includes:
a first plate having a clearance hole with at least enough clearance for the head of the screw to pass therethrough; a second plate disposed substantially parallel to and spaced apart from said first plate, said first plate being superimposed upon said second plate in plan view, said second plate having a countersunk hole which is adapted for being engaged by the head of the screw, said countersunk hole being in registry with said clearance hole; and a third plate extending between said first plate and said second plate to thereby fix said first plate relative to said second plate, said third plate being substantially rectangular.
- 8. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 7, wherein said third plate has a thickness dimension, and said first plate and said second plate being of constant thickness with increasing distance from said third plate when the structural fastener bracket is viewed in side elevation by a viewer along a line of sight perpendicular to the thickness dimension of said third plate and passing intermediate said first plate and said second plate.
- 9. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 7, wherein said third plate has a thickness dimension, said first plate and said second plate are substantially rectangular in plan view, said third plate has a length substantially equal to a said first plate, and a plane cooperatively defined by a plane of said first plate and a plane of said second plate bisects the thickness dimension of said third plate.
- 10. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 7, wherein said supporting structure is a metallic supporting structure.
- 11. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 10, wherein said supporting structure is aluminum.
- 12. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 10, wherein said supporting structure is made of a stain-less steel material.
- 13. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 7, wherein said supporting structure is made of a high impact plastic material.
- 14. A structural fastener bracket adapted for being secured to a supporting structure by a screw having a head, the structural fastener bracket comprising, in combination with a plurality of wooden planks:
a first plate having a clearance hole with at least enough clearance for the head of the screw to pass therethrough; a second plate disposed substantially parallel to and spaced apart from said first plate, said first plate being superimposed upon said second plate in plan view, said second plate having a countersunk hole which is adapted for being engaged by the head of the screw, said countersunk hole being in registry with said clearance hole; and a third plate extending between said first plate and said second plate to thereby fix said first plate relative to said second plate, said first, second and third plates are substantially rectangular.
- 15. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 14, wherein said third plate has a thickness dimension, and said first plate and said second plate being of constant thickness with increasing distance from said third plate when the structural fastener bracket is viewed in side elevation by a viewer along a line of sight perpendicular to the thickness dimension of said third plate and passing intermediate said first plate and said second plate.
- 16. The structural fastener bracket according to claim 14, wherein said third plate has a thickness dimension, said first plate and said second plate are substantially rectangular in plan view, said third plate has a length substantially equal to said first plate, and a plane cooperatively defined by the dimensions of said first plate and a plane said second plate bisects the thickness dimension of said third plate.
