Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] (a) Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a centrifugal propeller, and in particular, a propeller powered by a power mechanism to drive a rotating disc via a transmission shaft.

[0003] (b) Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Referring to FIG. 1, there is shown a conventional propeller 1, comprising a transmission shaft 11 protruded from the bottom, rear section of a boat 2 and a blade 12 is secured at the end head of the transmission shaft 11. A power mechanism located at the interior of the boat 2 drives the transmission shaft 11 to rotate the blade 12 in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. The blade 12 rotating in the water produces a forward or backward power so as to drive the boat 2. However, the transmission shaft 11 and the blade 12 are immersed, most of the time, in the water, and therefore corrosion can be easily found to the conventional propeller and some of the components of the propeller are required to be replaced after some time, and the replacement of parts causes an increase in maintenance fees. Furthermore, the rotation of the blade 12 produces noises and when the blade 12 is driven to rotate, the resistance of water reduces the kinetic energy of the power mechanism, which is transmitted to the blade 12. As a result, the effective energy is reduced and energy is inappropriately wasted. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to mitigate the above drawbacks.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a structure of a centrifugal propeller, wherein a power mechanism is used to drive a rotating disc having magnetism to rotate at the original position and the rotating disc drives an eccentrically connected centrifugal disc to rotate and by the application of the centrifugal disc, a forward propulsion is formed so as to achieve the objective of forwarding a load (boat or vessel).

[0006] Yet another object of the present invention to provide a structure of a centrifugal propeller, wherein the propeller is located within the interior of the boat and no resistance is produced during rotating of the propeller and the output power of the power mechanism can be fully utilized and the energy utilization is improved.

[0007] Another object of the present invention to provide a structure of a centrifugal propeller, wherein the propeller is located within the interior of the boat and the all the components of the propeller will not be corroded by water, and therefore, the maintenance fees are lowered.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

[0014] For the purpose of promoting an understanding of the principles of the invention, reference will now be made to the embodiment illustrated in the drawings. Specific language will be used to describe same. It will, nevertheless, be understood that no limitation of the scope of the invention is thereby intended, alterations and further modifications in the illustrated device, and further applications of the principles of the invention as illustrated herein being contemplated as would normally occur to one skilled in the art to which the invention relates.

[0015] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the propeller of the present invention comprises a transmission shaft 3, a rotating disc 4 and a centrifugal disc 5, wherein the transmission shaft 3 is secured at the center of the rotating disc 4. In a preferred embodiment, the rotating disc 4 is a circular disc with magnetism The circumferential edge of the rotating shaft 3 is provided with a driven gear 41, and the end face of the driven gear 41 is mounted with an upward protruded sleeve 42, and the transmission shaft 3 is inserted into the center hole of the sleeve 42, and one lateral side of the driven gear 41 is connected to a driving gear 43. The driving gear 43 is pegged to the disc-like centrifugal disc 5 with a pegging rod 44 together with a bearing 45, and is eccentrically rotating with the rotating disc 4. The centrifugal disc 5 can be driven to rotate by the driving gear 43 and the centrifugal disc 5 is preferably made from a magnetic metallic material. Furthermore, the other lateral side of the rotating disc 4 is provided with an extension element 46 mounted with a support disc 47 corresponding to the rotating disc 4. The other lateral end of the extension element 46 of the support disc 47 is pegged with a pegging rod 44, such that the rotating disc 4 and the support disc 47 are simultaneously rotated by the transmission shaft 3, and the centrifugal disc 5 rotates between the rotating disc 4 and the support disc 47.

[0016] Referring to FIG. 4, there is shown schematically the mounting of the propeller of the present invention to the boat 6. The bottom of the interior section of the boat 6 has a hollow actuating chamber 61, and the rotating disc 4 is mounted to the upper board surface of the actuating chamber 61 by means of the sleeve 42. At the same time, the support disc 47 is pegged to the bottom side of the actuating chamber 61 by means of the bearing 48. The present invention is positioned at the actuating chamber 61 such that the rotating disc 4 and the centrifugal disc 5 rotate in the space of the actuating chamber 61. Furthermore, the transmission shaft 3 protruded out of the actuating chamber 61 is engaged with the power mechanism 7, and the engagement of the transmission shaft 3 and the power mechanism 7 can be connected by a belt, a chain or gears or other methods of connection, such that the power mechanism 7 can drive the transmission shaft 3 to rotate.

[0017] Referring to FIG. 5, after the power mechanism 7 is initiated, the transmission shaft 3 is driven to rotate by the power mechanism 7. Due to the fact that the transmission shaft 3 is inserted into the center hole of the sleeve 42 and then mounted together with the rotating disc 4 at the center region thereof and is driven to rotate by the power mechanism 7 of the transmission shaft 3, then the rotating disc 4 and the corresponding support disc 47 are driven by the transmission shaft 3 to rotate at the original position. In the course of rotating of the rotating disc 4 at the original position, the driving gear 43 is rotated by the driven gear 41. Due to the fact that the centrifugal disc 5 is pegged together with the driven gear 43, the centrifugal disc 5 rotates by the driven gear 43 about the pegging rod 44. As the centrifugal disc 5 is eccentrically mounted at one lateral side of the rotating disc 4, the rotation of the centrifugal disc 5 is eccentrically rotated with the rotating disc 3. As the rotating disc 4 is provided with magnetism, and the centrifugal disc 5 is made from a magnetic material, the centrifugal disc 5, when it rotates to the position corresponding to the rotating disc 4, will be attracted to the rotating disc 4, but will be rapidly thrown away by the driven gear 43. Thus, by the application of the eccentric rotation to produce a centrifugal force, forming a thrust, a force to drive a load (boat or other vehicle) is needed. The transmission shaft 3 of the power mechanism 7 can be made clockwise and anticlockwise rotation such that the centrifugal force of the centrifugal disc 5 follows the clockwise and anticlockwise direction so that the load can be moved forward or backward.

[0018] In view of the effectiveness of the present invention, the present propeller is mounted at the interior of the boat (load), and no resistance is formed as the rotating disc 4 and the centrifugal force 5 rotate within the space of the actuating chamber 61. Thus, no power is lost when power is transmitted from the power mechanism 7 to the rotating disc 4. The output power of the power mechanism 7 is fully utilized and can effectively upgrade the utilization effectiveness of energy to avoid inappropriate waste of energy. The present invention is located within the interior of the boat (load) and therefore corrosion will not be occurred and the longevity of the propeller is longer and the maintenance fees are a lot lesser.

[0019] While the invention has been described with respect to preferred embodiment, it will be clear to those skilled in the art that modifications and improvements may be made to the invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Therefore, the invention is not to be limited by the specific illustrative embodiment, but only by the scope of the appended claims.
