STTR Phase I: Oral Cancer Detection Using Redox Magnetohydrodynamic Microfluidics-based Bioassay Chips

This Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) Phase I project aims to develop a molecular signature-based redox magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) microfluidic system for the detection of oral cancer. The microfluidic chips are expected to interface with a handheld readout instrument that has a low operator skill requirement and is suited for point-of-care operation.

If successful, the methodology can be used for early detection of oral squamous cell carcinoma, as well as other forms of cancer and as such may benefit a large number of individuals suffering from cancer.
