Abstract
The disclosure, also known as Carols' Styling Comb is the only product of its kind that securely attaches to the middle finger thus allowing for a safer hair cutting performance for users. This unprecedented product is uniquely designed with a comfortable yet durable rubber sleeve that smoothly glides onto the middle finger and remains steady during utilization.
Description
BACKGROUND

To be able to execute an exceptional haircut, proper shear and comb holding techniques are crucial. Yet, holding both tools can be challenging for an individual attempting to perform a personal cut considering the comb often gets in the way of the scissors which not only can lead to cuts on the fingers but also may result in an uneven haircut. There have been no products available as original equipment or as an aftermarket to address this problem.

An apparatus to simplify the process of having to hold shears and combs while cutting hair, protecting fingers as well, is not being met by any known device or system at present. There have been no products available as original equipment or as an aftermarket to address this problem either.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main purpose of the styling comb is to provide users with a universal comb that attaches to the middle finger to facilitate hair styling.

The disclosure includes a comb comprising a shaft and a row of teeth wherein the shaft has a length and a width and a first end and a second end. The disclosure also includes a clip attached to the shaft of the comb wherein the clip has a length and a relation to the shaft length. The disclosure also includes a ring attached to the comb via the clip wherein the ring has a height and a diameter configured to receive a user's finger.

Throughout the description, similar reference numbers may be used to identify similar elements depicted in multiple embodiments. Although specific embodiments of the invention have been described and illustrated, the invention is not to be limited to the specific forms or arrangements of parts so described and illustrated. The scope of the invention is to be defined by the claims appended hereto and their equivalents.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Reference will now be made to exemplary embodiments illustrated in the drawings and specific language will be used herein to describe the same. It will nevertheless be understood that no limitation of the scope of the disclosure is thereby intended. Alterations and further modifications of the inventive features illustrated herein and additional applications of the principles of the inventions as illustrated herein, which would occur to one skilled in the relevant art and having possession of this disclosure, are to be considered within the scope of the invention.

FIG. 1 is a top elevational view of the styling comb showing: styling comb referenced as A and having a shaft portion and a row of teeth, a clip referenced as B and attached to the comb, and a ring C to attach to the clip B on a middle finger in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a top elevational view of the ring C in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The ring C has a groove G on an inner surface configured to receive the clip B in a flush relation thereto so a finger inserted therein does not rub on the clip B. Embodiments of the ring are devoid of the groove G.

FIG. 3 is a side view of the clip attached to the comb in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The view depicts an embedded clip base E in the comb A to both strengthen the attachment an to provide a flush surface for the insertion of the ring between the clip B and the shaft of the comb A. Embodiments of the comb A are devoid of the embedded base E for the clip B in the shaft of the comb. The length of the clip is referenced as L.

FIG. 4 is a top view of multiple clips attached to the comb in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The multiple clips are pivotally attached via a pivot P which is a screw or a nail or a hinge in embodiments. The pivot enables the clip to swivel and rotate to match an angle of adjacent fingers received into a respect ring on a respective clip. The angle theta 1 and theta 2 represent respective angles of fingers F. The length of each clip B is shown as L.

FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the ring in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure. The groove G is formed on an inside surface of the diameter D of the ring. The height h is a band or ring width and determines a clip length which exceeds the ring height in order to secure the ring to the comb. A thickness of the ring is determined by a difference of the inside diameter and the outside diameter. The groove G depth GD is less than the thickness t of the ring B, also known as a band or sleeve.

FIG. 6 is an end view of the shaft of the comb and three rings attached thereto via the clips in accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure. The groove depth GD is shown in a ring thickness t. The ring diameter D is also shown. It is noted that the fingers received into the rings are substantially parallel with the teeth of the comb A emanating angularly from the shaft of the comb.

FIG. 7 is a top view of the rings attached at the shaft of the comb and extending therefrom in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The height h of each ring, the angle theta 1 and theta 2 in order to receive each adjacent finger ergonomically are shown and the width of the shaft W is depicted.
