Claims
- 1. A writing instrument, including:
a housing having an outward appearance of a familiar and/or proprietary object; and a writing implement mounted at least substantially within said housing, said writing implement having a writing tip capable of extending from said housing.
- 2. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a compact disk case.
- 3. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a book.
- 4. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a cereal box.
- 5. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a pack of cigarettes.
- 6. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a detergent container.
- 7. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a bar of soap.
- 8. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a soap container.
- 9. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a bottle of alcohol.
- 10. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said outward appearance is that of a box of matches.
- 11. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said housing is substantially rectangular and said tip protrudes from a corner where two sides of said housing come together.
- 12. A writing instrument as recited in claim 1, wherein said housing is substantially rectangular and said tip protrudes from a side between two corners.
- 13. A writing instrument, including:
a housing having an outward appearance of a familiar and/or proprietary object, said housing having a front end and a back end; a writing implement within said housing, said writing implement having a writing tip, and said writing implement capable of moving between a first position where said writing tip is retracted into said housing and a second position where said writing tip is extended from said housing out of said front end, said writing implement moving between said first and second positions as a result of a gravitational force; a stop adjacent said back end of said housing, said stop having a circular wall surrounding a central opening, wherein said writing implement is capable of wedging against a portion of said circular wall to lock said writing implement in said second position; and a tube capable of moving between a first position adjacent to said back end and a second position adjacent to said front end, said tube moving between said first and second positions as a result of said gravitational force, said tube surrounding said writing instrument and said tube, when in said first position, capable of funneling a portion of said writing instrument into said opening in said stop and away from said circular wall to allow said writing instrument to move to said second position.
