Claims
- 1. A polystyrene-based resin composition comprising 15-99% by weight of (A) a styrene-based resin with a mainly syndiotactic configuration selected from the group consisting of polystyrene, poly(alkylstyrene), poly(halogenated styrene), poly(alkoxystyrene), styrene copolymers comprised of polymerized units of at least two of styrene, alkylstyrene, halogenated styrene and alkoxystyrene, and mixtures thereof, and 1 to 85% by weight of (B) an inorganic filler selected from the group consisting of glass fibers and carbon fibers.
- 2. The composition of claim 1, comprising 50 to 95% by weight of the styrene-based resin (A) and 50 to 5% by weight of the inorganic filler (B).
- 3. The composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 4. The composition as claimed in claim 2, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
- 5. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 6. The composition as claimed in claim 1, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
- 7. The composition of claim 1, further comprising an antioxidant.
- 8. The composition as claimed in claim 7, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 9. The composition as claimed in claim 7, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
- 10. The composition of claim 1, further comprising at least one rubber polymer (C) selected from a rubber polymer produced by polymerizing vinyl monomers in the presence of polymers obtained by polymerizing one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of alkyl acrylate, alkyl methacrylate and polyfunctional monomers having conjugated diene double bonds, and one block or graft copolymer selected from an a-b block copolymer, an a-b-a copolymer, a b-a-b block copolymer, an a grafted b copolymer and a b grafted a copolymer:
- wherein a is atactic polystyrene, and b is at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of conjugated dienes, hydrogenated products of conjugated dienes, conjugated dienes modified with acid anhydrides, and hydrogenated products of conjugated dienes modified with acid anhydrides.
- 11. The composition as claimed in claim 10, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 12. The composition as claimed in claim 10, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
- 13. The composition as claimed in claim 12, wherein said rubber polymer has a particle size of 0.2-4 um.
- 14. The composition as claimed in claim 11, wherein said rubber polymer has a particle diameter of 0.2-4 um.
- 15. The composition of claim 10, wherein said rubber polymer (C) is SBS, SIS, SEBS, SEPS, SB, SI; BSB, ISI or a hydrogenated product thereof.
- 16. The composition as claimed in claim 15, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 17. The composition as claimed in claim 15, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
- 18. The composition of claim 10, wherein said rubber polymer (C) is maleated SBS, maleated SEBS, maleated SEP or maleated SIS.
- 19. The composition as claimed in claim 18, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 20. The composition as claimed in claim 18, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
- 21. The composition of claim 10, further comprising an antioxidant.
- 22. The composition as claimed in claim 21, wherein said inorganic filler is glass fibers.
- 23. The composition as claimed in claim 21, wherein said inorganic filler is carbon fibers.
