Claims
- 1. A method of treating ulcerative colitis, comprised of administering to a patient with ulcerative colitis an effective amount of a substance that is isolated from the germinated seed of a barley, rice or rye plant, wherein said substance is a sieve-passing fraction comprising 10 to 70% protein by weight and 20 to 70% insoluble dietary fiber by weight.
