Claims
- 1. A compound of the Formula (III) ##STR8## wherein R.sup.1 stands for a halogenated alkyl group containing 1 to 2 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.2 stands for a straight or branched alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.3 stands for an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkoxyalkyl group of altogether 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group; or
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together stand for a propylene group or a butylene group; or
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 stand independently from each other for hydrogen or a methyl group; or
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 together stand for a propylene group or a butylene group.
- 2. A compound of the Formula (III) ##STR9## wherein R.sup.3 stands for an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkoxyalkyl group of altogether 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group.
- 3. The compound of the Formula (III) defined in claim 2 which is
- N-allyl-N-(2-methoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide;
- N-allyl-N-(2-ethoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide; or
- N-allyl-N-(2-phenoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide.
- 4. An antidote composition comprising as active ingredient 1 to 99% by weight of the compound of the Formula (III) as defined in claim 1.
- 5. An antidote containing herbicide composition, which comprises as an antidote, at least one compound of the Formula (III) as defined in claim 1, and as an herbicide at least one thiolcarbamate of the Formula (I) ##STR10## or chloroacetanilide of the Formula (II) ##STR11## wherein R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 each stand for an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a cyclohexyl group; or
- R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 together form a hexamethylene group;
- R.sup.8 stands for an alkyl group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 stand for hydrogen, or an alkyl group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and
- R.sup.11 stands for an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or an alkoxyalkyl group of altogether 2 to 4 carbon atoms; and the ratio of the herbicide to the antidote is 50:1 to 1:1.
- 6. The antidote-containing herbicide composition defined in claim 5 which comprises as an antidote a compound of the Formula (III) selected from the group consisting of
- N-allyl-N-(2-methoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide,
- N-allyl-N-(2-ethoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide, and
- N-allyl-N-(2-phenoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide;
- and as an herbicide of the Formula (I) the compound EPTC.
- 7. The antidote-containing herbicide composition defined in claim 5 which comprises as an antidote a compound of the Formula (III) selected from the group consisting of
- N-allyl-N-(2-methoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide,
- N-allyl-N-(2-ethoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide, and
- N-allyl-N-(2-phenoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide;
- and as an herbicide of the Formula (II) the compound acetochlor.
- 8. A method of cultivating crop plants at a plant site which comprises applying to said site an amount of a herbicide effective to kill weeds, in the presense of an antidote in an amount effective to protect the crop plants, said antidote consisting of at least one acetamide of the Formula (III) ##STR12## wherein R.sup.1 stands for a halogenated alkyl group containing 1 to 2 carbon atoms;
- R.sup.2 stands for a straight or branched alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 stands for an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkoxyalkyl group of altogether 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group, or R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 together stand for a propylene group or a butylene group, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 stand independently from each other for hydrogen or a methyl group, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 together stand for a propylene group or a butylene group; and said herbicide being at least one thiobamate of the Formula (I) ##STR13## or chloroacetanilide of the Formula (II) ##STR14## wherein R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 stand for an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or a cyclohexyl group, or R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 together form a hexamethylene group, R.sup.8 stands for an alkyl group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 stand for hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, R.sup.11 stands for an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an alkoxyalkyl group of altogether 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and the ratio of the herbicide to the antidote is 50:1 to 1:1.
- 9. The method of cultivating a plant or crop as defined in claim 8 wherein the compound of the Formula (I) is selected from the group consisting of
- N-allyl-N-(2-methoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide,
- N-allyl-N-(2-ethoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide, and
- N-allyl-N-(2-phenoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide;
- and the herbicide of the Formula (II) is EPTC.
- 10. The method of cultivating a plant crop as defined in claim 8 wherein the compound of the Formula (I) is selected from the group consisting of
- N-allyl-N-(2-methoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide,
- N-allyl-N-(2-ethoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide, and
- N-allyl-N-(2phenoxyethoxymethyl)-dichloroacetamide;
- and the herbicide of the Formula (III) is acetochlor.
