Claims
- 1. A perfume composition having a vetiver character comprising (i) a composition of matter consisting of a mixture of three compounds defined by the structure:
- wherein one of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon double bond and each of the other of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon single bond in an olfactorily effective amount and (ii) at least one adjuvant selected from the group consisting of natural perfume oils, synthetic perfume oils, alcohols, aldehydes, ketones other than ketones contained in said mixture (i), nitriles, esters and lactones.
- 2. A cologne composition comprising ethanol, water and a composition of matter consisting of a mixture of three compounds defined by the structure: ##STR82## wherein one of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon double bond and each of the other of the dashed lines is a carbon-carbon single bond in an olfactorily effective amount, said cologne having a vetiver character.
