Claims
- 1. A method of treating inflammation in a warmblooded mammal which comprises administering to a warmblooded mammal suffering from an inflammatory process an anti-inflammatorially effective amount of a compound of the formula: ##STR5## wherein R.sup.1 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl; when taken singly, R.sup.2 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, or Cl and R.sup.3 is H; and
- R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 when taken together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a benzene ring;
- R.sup.4 is H, Cl or F;
- R.sup.5 is OH, H or phenyl;
- Y is O or H.sub.2 ;
- Z is --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 -- or --CHR.sup.6 -- wherein R.sup.6 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl.
- 2. A method according to claim 1 in which 6-phenyl-1H-pyrrolo[1,2,3-de]quinoxalin-2,5(3H,6H)-dione is administered.
