The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
The present invention relates generally to the field of construction and more specifically relates to support systems.
All houses, garages, and other buildings are built on top of a strong, durable foundation. Despite proper installation of footers, the walls of a home can still shift over time. If the walls shift too much on top of the footer, the structural integrity of a home can decrease. People may have to make expensive repairs in order to prevent complete collapse of the home over time. A suitable solution is desired.
U.S. Pub. No. 2006/0026911 to Adam Sutton relates to a footer track with moisture vent. The described footer track with moisture vent includes a footer track for supporting a plurality of wall studs, and a method for making a footer track, including a web and a pair of legs extending from opposing sides of the web. The pair of legs are spaced from one another a distance sufficient to accommodate a wall stud therebetween. The footer track defines a plurality of drain openings spaced along a length of the footer track. Preferably, each of the plurality of drain openings has a boundary defined by both of the web and one of the pairs of legs. In one arrangement, each drain opening extends a distance into the web such that the opening, itself, is defined by both the web and leg.
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known construction art, the present disclosure provides a novel support footer system. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a structurally sound base support for installing prior to erecting a building or other structure.
A support footer system is disclosed herein. The support footer system includes a footer assembly including at least one pre-cast footer. The at least one pre-cast footer is inserted into a ground surface and installed forming a defined base perimeter. One of the at least one pre-cast footers is installed at each corner of the defined base perimeter. The at least one pre-cast footer comprises concrete in preferred embodiments. Each of the at least one pre-cast footer comprises a ground-insertion-member and a planar-member. The ground-insertion-member and a planar-member together form a single unit. The ground-insertion-member extends vertically from the planar-member. The ground-insertion-member is configured to be inserted into the ground surface such that the planar-member is positioned above the ground surface when the ground-insertion-member is fully inserted into the ground surface. The planar-member comprises a planar surface for supporting a structure thereon. A footer-unit is installed on top of the at least one pre-cast footers forming a support base for the structure to be built thereon.
For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
The figures which accompany the written portion of this specification illustrate embodiments and methods of use for the present disclosure, a support footer system, constructed and operative according to the teachings of the present disclosure.
The various embodiments of the present invention will hereinafter be described in conjunction with the appended drawings, wherein like designations denote like elements.
As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to construction and more particularly to a support footer system as used to improve the foundation of a structure.
Generally, the present invention provides general contractors, developers, building contractors, etc. with pre-cast concrete footers installed in the ground prior to erecting the foundation of a home, garage, and more. Includes wing supports and stop notches for installation when mounting the footers into the ground. It allows users to easily install the device before the footer, ensuring walls are properly constructed and all shifting and moving is prevented. The device improves the building's structure, eliminating the need to make future repairs and adjustments due to shifting walls.
The system includes a set of pre-cast concrete footers designed to offer additional support for a home, garage, or other building's structural integrity. The pre-cast footers are installed underneath the main footer unit, effectively preventing walls from shifting and moving over time. Each pre-cast footer can have wing supports and stop notches for installation into the ground. Users can insert the pre-cast footers into the ground before applying the main footer unit. The main footer is installed on top of the pre-cast footers present on each corner of the main footer. The walls can be erected as normal after installation of the main footer unit. The pre-cast footers can be useful for accommodating wall systems, poured walls, and other applications with minimal effort required. Support footer system can be constructed using concrete and other suitable materials. Each footer may measure approximately 8-30′ in length, 16″ in width, and 12″ in height.
