Claims
- 1. A clay-like athletic field, comprising:
(a) an athletic field; and (b) a surfacing composition disposed over the athletic field, wherein the surfacing composition comprises cullet particles.
- 2. The athletic field of claim 1, wherein the cullet particles include a portion selected from the group consisting of container glass, plate glass, ceramic glass, or combinations thereof
- 3. The athletic field of claim 1, wherein the cullet particles include a portion selected from the group consisting of amber cullet, clear cullet, red cullet, orange cullet, green cullet, blue cullet and combinations thereof.
- 4. The athletic field of claim 1, wherein the surfacing composition further includes an additional ingredient selected from the group consisting of fines, polymer coatings, or combinations thereof
- 5. The athletic field of claim 1, wherein the cullet particles are compacted over the athletic field.
- 6. The athletic field of claim 1, wherein the cullet particles are disposed over the athletic field as an in-fill material.
- 7. The athletic field of claim 1, wherein the cullet particles have a size between about 1.4 millimeters to about 20 microns in diameter.
- 8. A clay-like tennis court, comprising:
a tennis court substrate; and cullet particles having a size between about 1.4 millimeters to about 20 microns disposed over the tennis court substrate.
- 9. The tennis court of claim 8, wherein the cullet particles include a portion selected from the group consisting of container glass, plate glass, ceramic glass, or combinations thereof.
- 10. The tennis court of claim 8, wherein the cullet particles include a portion selected from the group consisting of amber cullet, clear cullet, red cullet, orange cullet, green cullet, blue cullet and combinations thereof.
- 11. The tennis court of claim 8, wherein the tennis court substrate comprises a compacted base course disposed over a compacted subgrade.
- 12. The tennis court of claim 8, wherein the tennis court substrate comprises a carpet and said cullet particles are an in-fill material.
- 13. The tennis court of claim 8, wherein the tennis court further includes an additional ingredient mixed with the cullet, said additional ingredient being selected from the group consisting of fines, polymer coatings, or combinations thereof.
- 14. The tennis court of claim 8, wherein the cullet particles are compacted over the tennis court substrate.
- 15. A clay-like tennis court, comprising:
a compacted subgrade, compacted stone disposed over the compacted subgrade; and a surfacing composition disposed over the compacted stone, said surfacing composition comprising cullet particles having a size between about 1.4 millimeters to about 20 microns.
- 16. The tennis court of claim 15, wherein the cullet particles include a portion selected from the group consisting of container glass, plate glass, ceramic glass, or combinations thereof
- 17. The tennis court of claim 15, wherein the cullet particles include a portion selected from the group consisting of amber cullet, clear cullet, red cullet, orange cullet, green cullet, blue cullet, and combinations thereof.
- 18. The tennis court of claim 15 further comprising a carpet over said compacted stone within which said cullet particles are disposed as an in-fill material.
- 19. The tennis court of claim 15, wherein the surfacing composition further includes an additional ingredient selected from the group consisting of fines, polymer coatings, or combinations thereof.
- 20. The tennis court of claim 15, wherein the cullet particles are compacted over said compacted stone.
- 21. A surfacing composition comprising cullet compacted upon a substrate.
