Abstract
A holder for holding a surface contact card (100) includes a receiving groove and a latch structure (20). The receiving groove is defined at one side of the main body (10). The latching structure rotatably engages in the receiving groove and is configured for receiving the surface contact card (30) therein.
Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Many aspects of the surface contact card holder can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present surface contact card holder. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.

FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of a surface contact card holder with a surface contact card in accordance with a preferred embodiment;

FIG. 2 is similar to FIG. 1 but viewed from another aspect;

FIG. 3 is an isometric view of the tray shown in FIG. 1;

FIG. 4 is an assembled view of the surface contact card holder with the surface contact card shown in FIG. 1;

FIG. 5 is similar to FIG. 3, but viewed from another aspect;

FIG. 6 is a process view of the surface contact card holder with the surface contact card showing the tray rotating out from the receiving groove; and

FIG. 7 is an assembled view of a conventional SIM card holder.

Claims
  • 1. A holder for holding a surface contact card, comprising: a receiving groove formed at one side of a main body of an electronic device; anda latch structure rotatably engaging in the receiving groove and being configured for receiving the surface contact card therein.
  • 2. The holder as claimed in claim 1, wherein the latch structure includes a tray and a shaft, the tray receives the surface contact card, the shaft fixes the tray in the main body, and the tray rotates relative to the shaft.
  • 3. The holder as claimed in claim 2, wherein the main body further defines a cutout, the cutout is positioned adjacent to the receiving groove, and the tray forms an operating portion engaging in the cutout.
  • 4. The holder as claimed in claim 2, wherein the tray includes a bottom wall and four sidewalls, cooperatively partially surrounding a space for receiving the surface contact card.
  • 5. The holder as claimed in claim 4, wherein a top edge extends from one of the sidewalls, and is bent perpendicularly so as to partially cover the two near sidewalls thereof.
  • 6. The holder as claimed in claim 5, wherein the top edge and the bottom wall respectively define a through hole at a corner thereof, and the shaft is inserted into the through hole of the tray.
  • 7. The holder as claimed in claim 2, wherein the main body has a receiving cavity cooperatively defined by a peripheral wall and a bottom portion, the peripheral wall has an end portion, the receiving groove is defined in the end portion.
  • 8. The holder as claimed in claim 7, wherein the main body has a latching portion adjacent to the receiving cavity, the receiving groove communicates with the latching portion so as to connect the two sides of the main body.
  • 9. The holder as claimed in claim 8, wherein the latching portion has a protrusion formed on the end portion, the protrusion defines a pivotal hole, and the tray defines a through hole at a corner, and the shaft passes through the pivotal hole and the through hole of the tray.
  • 10. A portable electronic device comprising: a device body defining a groove for receiving a receiving element, the receiving element structured and arranged for receiving a surface contact card, a shaft pivotally connecting the receiving element to the device body in a manner such that the receiving element is allowed to rotate from the groove for insertion and removal of a surface contact card.
  • 11. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 10, wherein the main body defines a receiving cavity cooperatively defined by a peripheral wall and a bottom portion, the peripheral wall has an end portion, and the groove is defined in the end portion.
  • 12. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 11, wherein the main body has a latching portion adjacent to the receiving cavity, the groove communicates with the latching portion so as to connect the two sides of the main body.
  • 13. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 12, wherein the latching portion has a protrusion formed on the end portion, the protrusion define a pivotal hole, and the receiving element defines a through hole at a corner, and the shaft passes through the pivotal hole and the through hole of the receiving element.
  • 14. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 10, wherein the receiving element includes a tray, the tray receives the surface contact card and can rotate relative to the shaft.
  • 15. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 14, wherein the main body further defines a cutout, the cutout is positioned adjacent to the groove, the tray forms an operating portion engaging in the cutout.
  • 16. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 14, wherein the tray includes a bottom wall and four sidewalls, cooperatively partially surrounding a space for receiving the surface contact card.
  • 17. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 16, wherein a top edge extends from one of the sidewalls, and is bent perpendicularly so as to partially cover the two near sidewalls thereof.
  • 18. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 17, wherein the top edge and the bottom wall respectively define a through hole at a corner thereof, and the shaft is inserted into the through hole.
  • 19. A portable electronic device comprising: a main body defining a receiving groove;a card carrier attached to the main body and pivotable into and out of the receiving groove about a pivot axis perpendicular to the main body, the card carrier being configured for carrying a surface contact card therewith, and the receiving groove configured for electrically connecting the surface contact card to the main body.
  • 20. The portable electronic device as claimed in claim 19, wherein the main body has a space adjacent to a receiving cavity, the groove communicates with the space so as to connect the two sides of the main body, and the card carrier is inserted into the receiving groove so as to be received in the space.
