Claims
- 1. A method of decorating a surface decorated article by using glitter paints each containing a flaky glitter material as a pigment, wherein the method comprises:particulating a first glitter paint at a first viscosity with a first solvent dilution ratio to form first paint particles and a second glitter paint at a second viscosity with a second solvent dilution ration to form second paint particles, respectively, and, at the same time, coating the first and second paint particles in a state being mixed with each other on the surface decorated article, thereby forming a coating of the mixed glitter paints on the surface, wherein the first viscosity is lower than the second viscosity and the first solvent dilution ratio is higher than the second solvent dilution ration.
- 2. A decoration method as defined in claim 1, wherein the average grain size of the first and second paint particles upon particulation is from 50 to 500 μm.
- 3. A decoration method as defined in claim 1, wherein the content of flaky glitter material in the first glitter paint and in the second glitter paint is from 1 to 20% by weight based on the entire amount of the paint.
- 4. A decoration method as defined in claim 1, wherein the solvent dilution ratio for each of the first and second paints is selected such that the difference of content of non-volatile components (ΔNV) between the first glitter paint and the second glitter paint is at least 5 to 8% by weight upon coarse granulation and from 10 to 20% by weight upon coating.
- 5. A decoration method as defined in claim 1, wherein the coating includes areas of dried, solidified first paint particles and areas of dried, solidified second paint particles mixed together in a spot pattern.
- 6. A decoration method as defined in claim 1, further comprising forming a coating of clear paint on the coating of the mixed glitter paints.
- 7. A decoration method as defined in claim 1, further comprising printing an ink pattern on the coating of the mixed glitter paints.
- 8. A decoration method as defined in claim 7, wherein the printing is performed by a hydraulic pressure transfer.
- 9. A decoration method as defined in claim 7, further comprising forming a coating of clear paint on the coating of the mixed glitter paints and the ink pattern.
- 10. A decoration method as defined in claim 6, further comprising printing an ink pattern on the coating of clear paint.
- 11. A decoration method as defined in claim 10, further comprising forming a second coating of clear paint on the coating of clear paint with the ink pattern printed thereon.
