Claims
- 1. In a method of forming a plastic film or sheet on or against a release sheet, setting the film or sheet, and separating the set film or sheet from the release sheet, the improvement wherein the release sheet comprises a paper web having on at least one side thereof a coating of an electron beam radiation curable composition or material which has been cured by electron beam radiation, the outer surface of the coating having a desired surface effect formed by curing the coating in intimate contact with a replicative surface having the desired surface effect.
- 2. In a heat transferable printed design, including a release sheet, a printed design thereon of polyvinyl chloride plastisol ink or offset printing ink and an overcoat of polyvinyl chloride plastisol, the improvement wherein the release sheet comprises a paper web having on at least one side thereof a coating of an electron beam radiation curable composition or material which has been cured by electron beam radiation, the outer surface of the coating having a desired surface effect formed by curing the coating in intimate contact with a replicative surface having the desired surface effect.
- 3. In a pressure sensitive adhesive coated web, including a sheet material with an adhesive coat attached to a release sheet, the improvement wherein the release sheet comprises a paper web having on at least one side thereof a coating of an electron beam radiation curable composition or material which has been cured by electron beam radiation, the outer surface of the coating having a desired surface effect formed by curing the coating in intimate contact with a replicative surface having the desired surface effect.
- 4. In a method of heat and pressure consolidating decorative plastic laminates, comprising pressing two separate groups of laminae at the same time in back to back configuration with an interleavor placed between the groups, the improvement wherein the interleavor comprises a paper web having on at least one side thereof a coating of an electron beam radiation curable composition or material which has been cured by electron beam radiation, the outer surface of the coating having a desired surface effect formed by curing the coating in intimate contact with a replicative surface having the desired surface effect.
- 5. The improved method of claim 1, wherein the plastic film or sheet formed on or against a release sheet is panel pressed, by which a plurality of laminae impregnated with thermosetting resin are consolidated by simultaneously heating and pressing the laminae, and wherein the surface effect in the electron beam radiation cured coating is a contoured surface existing only in the coating and not in the substrate.
