Claims
- 1. A composition comprising an edible composition and sweetening effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of N-L-Aspartyl-D-alanine[.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester, N-L aspartyl-2-methylalanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester, a food acceptable salt of N-L-aspartyl-D-alanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester, and a food acceptable salt of N-L-aspartyl-2-methylalanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester.
- 2. A composition according to claim 1 which further comprises a food acceptable carrier.
- 3. A composition comprising an edible composition and a sweetening effective amount of N-L-aspartyl-D-alanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester.
- 4. An edible composition according to claim 3 which is a beverage.
- 5. An edible composition according to claim 2 which is a gelatin dessert.
- 6. An edible composition according to claim 2 which is a milk-based composition.
- 7. An edible composition according to claim 2 which further comprises an additional sweetener.
- 8. An edible composition according to claim 7 wherein the additional sweetener is sucrose, fructose, corn syrup solids, dextrose, xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, acetosulfam, thaumatin, invert sugar, saccharin, thiophene-saccharin, meta-aminobenzoic acid, meta-hydroxybenzoic acid, cyclamate, chlorosucrose, dihydrochalcone, hydrogenated glucose syrup, aspartame or other dipepties, glycyrrhizin or stevioside or mixtures thereof.
- 9. A composition according to claim 2 which is a chewing gum.
- 10. A composition comprising an edible composition and a sweetening effective amount of N-L-aspartyl-2-methylalanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester.
- 11. An edible composition according to claim 10 which is a beverage.
- 12. An edible composition according to claim 10 which is a gelatin dessert.
- 13. An edible composition according to claim 10 which is a milk-based composition.
- 14. An edible composition according to claim 10 which further comprises an additional sweetener.
- 15. An edible composition according to claim 14 wherein the additional sweetener is sucrose, fructose, corn syrup solids, dextrose, xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, acetosulfam, thaumatin, invert sugar, saccharin, thiophene-saccharin, meta-aminobenzoic acid, meta-hydroxybenzoic acid, cyclamate, chlorosucrose, dihydrochalcone, hydrogenated glucose syrup, aspartame or other dipepties, glycyrrhizin or stevioside or mixtures thereof.
- 16. A composition according to claim 10 which is a beverage is a chewing gum.
- 17. A composition comprising an edible composition and a sweetening effective amount of food acceptable salt of N-L-aspartyl-D-alanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester.
- 18. An edible composition according to claim 17 which is a beverage.
- 19. An edible composition according to claim 17 which is a gelatin dessert.
- 20. An edible composition according to claim 17 which is a milk-based composition.
- 21. An edible composition according to claim 17 which further comprises an additional sweetener.
- 22. An edible composition according to claim 21 wherein the additional sweetener is sucrose, fructose, corn syrup solids, dextrose, xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, acetosulfam, thaumatin, invert sugar, saccharin, thiophene-saccharin, meta-aminobenzoic acid, meta-hydroxybenzoic acid, cyclamate, chlorosucrose, dihydrochalcone, hydrogenated glucose syrup, aspartame or other dipepties, glycyrrhizin or stevioside or mixtures thereof.
- 23. A composition according to claim 17 which is a chewing gum.
- 24. A composition comprising an edible composition and a sweetening amount of a food acceptable salt of N-L-aspartyl-2-methylalanine [.beta.(+)fenchyl]ester.
- 25. An edible composition according to claim 24 which is a beverage.
- 26. An edible composition according to claim 24 which is a gelatin dessert.
- 27. An edible composition according to claim 24 which is a milk-based composition.
- 28. An edible composition according to claim 24 which further comprises an additional sweetener.
- 29. An edible composition according to claim 28 wherein the additional sweetener is sucrose, fructose, corn syrup solids, dextrose, xylitol, sorbitol, mannitol, acetosulfam, thaumatin, invert sugar, saccharin, thiophene-saccharin, meta-aminobenzoic acid, meta-hydroxybenzoic acid, cyclamate, chlorosucrose, dihydrochalcone, hydrogenated glycose syrup, aspartame or other dipepties, glycyrrhizin or stevioside or mixtures thereof.
