Claims
- 1. Switching power supply for converting AC or pulsating DC input signal into output signal, comprising:
- a node;
- a switch means responsive to a single control signal for selectively applying the input signal of one polarity to the node;
- an inductive means coupled to the node for attaining a current;
- a rectifying means coupled between the node and ground for conducting the current;
- a capacitive means coupled between the inductive means and ground for providing the output signal;
- a first comparator means for comparing the input signal against a first signal;
- a second comparator means for comparing the output signal against a second signal; and
- a control means responsive to the first and second comparator means for providing the single control signal.
- 2. Switching power supply of claim 1 further including a third comparator means for determining a minimum value of the current by sensing a voltage appearing across the rectifying means,
- wherein the control means is responsive to the third comparator means.
- 3. Switching power supply of claim 1 further including:
- a resistive means for obtaining a voltage in response to the current; and
- a third comparator means for determining an excess of the current by comparing the resistive means voltage against a third signal,
- wherein the control means is responsive to the third comparator means.
- 4. Switching power supply of claim 1 wherein the control means includes a flip-flop which is triggered and reset in responsive to the first and second comparator means respectively.
- 5. Switching power supply of claim 3 wherein the resistive means is coupled in series with the switch means.
