Claims
- 1. A process for the preparation of a syndio-isoblock polymer having molecular chains in which syndiotactic and isotactic sequences are present and the sequence length is 3 to 50 monomer units by polymerization of propylene or an olefin of the formula RCH═CHR′ in which R and R′ are identical or different and are an alkyl radical having 1 to 14 carbon atoms or R and R′ combine with the carbon atoms joining them together to form a ring at a temperature of −60 to 100° C., a pressure of 0.5 to 100 bar, in solution, in suspension or in the gas phase, in the presence of a catalyst which is composed of a metallocene and an aluminoxane, wherein the metallocene is a compound of the formula I in whichM1 is titanium zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium or tantalum, R1 and R2 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl or C8-C40-arylalkenyl, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl or a halogen atom, with the proviso that at least one of the substitutents R3 through R8 is not hydrogen, R9 is ═BR10, ═AlR10, —Ge—, —Sn—, —O—, —S—, ═SO, ═SO2, ═NR10, ═CO, ═PR10 or ═P(O)R10, where R10, R11, R12, R13 and R14 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-fluoroalkyl, C6-C10-fluoroaryl, C6-C10-aryl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl, or C7-C40-alkylaryl, or R10 and R11, or R10 and R12, together in each case with the atoms joining them, form a ring, andM2 is silicon, germanium or tin.
- 2. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein propylene is polymerized.
- 3. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein M1 is zirconium or hafnium.
- 4. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are identical or different and are hydrogen atom or C1-C3-alkyl.
- 5. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein R9 is selected from the group consisting of ═CR10R11, ═SiR10R11, ═GeR10R11, —O—, —S—, ═SO, ═PR10 and ═P(O)R10.
- 6. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein the aluminoxane is of formula in the case of linear type and/or of the formula III in the case of the cyclic type, wherein R15 is a C1-C6-alkyl and n is an integer from 2 to 50.
- 7. The process as claimed in claim 6, wherein R15 is selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, isobutyl, butyl, neopentyl, phenyl and benzyl.
- 8. The process as claimed in claim 6, wherein n is an integer from 5 to 40.
- 9. A process for the preparation of a syndio-isoblock polymer having molecular chains in which syndiotactic and isotactic sequences are present and the sequence length is 3-50 monomer units by polymerization of propylene or an olefin of the formula RCH═CHR′ in which R and R′ are identical or different and are an alkyl radical having 1 to 14 carbon atoms or R and R′ with the carbon atoms joining them, form a ring at a temperature of −60 to 100° C., a pressure of 0.5 to 100 bar, in solution, in suspension or in the gas phase, in the presence of a catalyst which is composed of a metallocene and an aluminoxane, wherein the metallocene is a compound of the formula I in whichM1 is titanium, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium or tantalum, R1 and R2 are identical or different and are hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, C1-C10 alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl or C8-C40-arylalkenyl, R3 is C1-C10-alkyl, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkenyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl or a halogen atom, R9 is ═BR10, ═AlR10, —Ge—, —Sn—, —O—, —S—, ═SO, ═SO2, ═NR10, ═CO, ═PR10 or ═P(O)R10, where R10, R11, R12, R13 and R14 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-fluoroalkyl, C6-C10-fluoroaryl, C6-C10-aryl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl, or C7-C40-alkylaryl, or R10 and R11, or R10 and R12, together in each case with the atoms joining them, form a ring andM2 is silicon, germanium or tin.
- 10. A process as claimed in claim 9, wherein R3 is methyl.
- 11. A process as claimed in claim 9, wherein R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are a hydrogen atom.
- 12. A process for the preparation of snydio-isoblock polymer having molecular chains in which syndiotactic and isotactic sequences are present and the sequence length is 3-50 monomer units by polymerization of propylene or an olefin of the formula RCH═CHR′ in which R and R′ are identical or different and are an alkyl radical having 1 to 14 carbon atoms or R and R′ combine with the carbon atoms joining them together to form a ring at a temperature of −60 to 100° C., a pressure of 0.5 to 100 bar, in solution, in suspension or in the gas phase, in the presence of a catalyst which is composed of a metallocene and an aluminoxane, wherein the metallocene is a compound of the formula I in whichM1 is zirconim or hafnium, R1 and R2 are chorine, R3 is methyl, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are a hydrogen atom, and R9 is where R10 and R11 are C1-C10-alkyl.
- 13. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein R3 is C1-C10-alkyl or, in the case when R4 is C1-C10-alkyl, then R3 is hydrogen.
- 14. The process as claimed in claim 13, wherein R3 is C1-C10-alkyl or, in the case when R4 is methyl, then R3 is hydrogen.
- 15. The process as claimed in claim 14, wherein R3 is methyl and R4 through R8 are hydrogen.
- 16. The process as claimed in claim 1, wherein R1 and R2 are identical or different and are a halogen atom, R3 is C1-C10-alkyl or, in the case when R4 is methyl, then R3 is hydrogen.
- 17. The process as claimed in claim 16, wherein R9 is R10 and R11 are C1-C10-alkyl.
- 18. The process as claimed in claim 17, wherein R3 is methyl and R4-R8 are hydrogen.
- 19. The process as claimed in claim 18, wherein M1 is zirconium or hafnium.
- 20. A process for the preparation of a syndio-isoblock polymer having molecular chains in which syndiotactic and isotactic sequences are present and the sequence length is 3 to 50 monomer units by polymerization of an olefin of the formula RCH═CHR′ in which R and R′ are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having 1 to 14 carbon atoms or R and R′ combine with the carbon atoms joining them together to form a ring at a temperature of −60 to 100° C., a pressure of 0.5 to 100 bar, in solution, in suspension or in the gas phase, in the presence of a catalyst which is composed of a metallocene and an aluminoxane, wherein the metallocene is a compound of the formula I in whichM1 is titanium zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium or tantalum, R1 and R2 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl or C8-C40-arylalkenyl, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C10-alkylaryl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl or a halogen atom, with the proviso that R3 and R4 are not hydrogen at the same time, R9 is ═BR10, ═AlR10, —Ge—, —Sn—, —O—, —S—, ═SO, ═SO2, ═NR10, ═CO, ═PR10 or ═P(O)R10, where R10, R11, R12, R13 and R14 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-fluoroalkyl, C6-C10-fluoroaryl, C6-C10-aryl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl, or C7-C40-alkylaryl, or R10 and R11, or R10 and R12, together in each case with the atoms joining them, form a ring, andM2 is silicon, germanium or tin.
- 21. A metallocene used to make a catalyst to produce syndio-isoblock polymers having molecular chains in which syndiotactic and isotactic sequences are present and the sequence length is 3 to 50 monomer units by polymerization of an olefin of the formula RCH═CHR′ in which R and R′ are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having 1 to 14 carbon atoms or R and R′ combine with the carbon atoms joining them together to form a ring and said metallocene is a compound of the formula I in whichM1 is titanium zirconium, hafnium, vanadium, niobium or tantalum, R1 and R2 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C21∝C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl or C8-C40-arylalkenyl, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7 and R8 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C6-C10-aryl, C6-C10-aryloxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C7-C40-alkylaryl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl or a halogen atom, with the proviso that R3 and R4 are not hydrogen at the same time, R9 is ═BR10, ═AlR10, —Ge—, —Sn—, —O—, —S—, ═SO, ═SO2, ═NR10, ═CO, ═PR10 or ═P(O)R10, where R10, R11, R12, R13 and R14 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C10-alkyl, C1-C10-fluoroalkyl, C6-C10-fluoroaryl, C6-C10-aryl, C1-C10-alkoxy, C2-C10-alkenyl, C7-C40-arylalkyl, C8-C40-arylalkenyl, or C7-C40-alkylaryl, or R10 and R11, or R10 and R12, together in each case with the atoms joining them, form a ring, andM2 is silicon, germanium or tin.
- 22. A metallocene catalyst comprising the metallocene as claimed in claim 21 and an aluminoxane and said metallocene catalyst produces a syndio-isoblock polymers having molecular chains in which syndiotactic and isotactic sequences are present and the sequence length is 3 to 50 monomer units.
- 23. The metallocene as claimed in claim 21, wherein said metallocene is isopropylidene-(9-fluorenyl-3-methylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride and said olefin is propylene.
- 24. The catalyst as claimed in claim 22, wherein said metallocene is isopropylidene-(9-fluorenyl-3-methylcyclopentadienyl)zirconium dichloride and said olefin is propylene.
- 25. The process as claimed in claim 20, wherein said olefin is ethylene or propylene.
- 26. The process as claimed in claim 20, wherein said olefin is a 1-olefin.
