Claims
- 1. A process for producing a compound of the formula: ##STR7## wherein Y is selected from the group consisting of ##STR8## and L and L' taken together are a dibasic carboxylate selected from the group consisting of ##STR9## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or lower alkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.5) or R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 taken together is --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- where n is 2 to 5 and moieties of the structure: ##STR10## which comprises reacting a bis-dimethylsulfoxide platinum dichloride complex with a dicarboxylic acid in aqueous solution, protected from light, giving a carboxylic acid compound of the formula ##STR11## where L and L' are as described above, which is then reacted with an amine of the formula ##STR12## where Y is as described above, in an aqueous solution at room temperature to reflux temperature.
- 2. A process for producing a compound of the formula: ##STR13## wherein Y is selected from the group consisting of ##STR14## and L and L' taken together are a dibasic carboxylate selected from the group consisting of ##STR15## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or lower alkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.5) or R.sub.1 and R.sup.2 taken together is --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- where n is 2 to 5 and moieties of the structure: ##STR16## in accordance with claim 1, which comprises reacting a carboxylic acid-bis[dimethylsulfoxide]platinum compound of the formula ##STR17## where L and L' are as described above in warm aqueous solution at 25.degree.-100.degree. C. with an amine of the formula ##STR18## where Y is as described above, giving a compound of the formula: ##STR19## which is further reacted in an aqueous solution at room temperature to reflux temperature.
- 3. The process in accordance with claim 1 wherein the bis[dimethylsulfoxide]platinum dichloride complex is reacted with the disilver salt of 1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid in aqueous medium in the absence of visible light to provide the intermediate of the formula: ##STR20## which is then reacted with tetrahydro-4H-pyran-4,4-dimethanamine in aqueous medium at about 50.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. to provide [1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylato-(2-)-O.sup.1,O.sup.1 ](tetrahydro-4H-pyran-4,4-dimethanamine-N,N')platinum of the formula: ##STR21##
- 4. The process in accordance with claim 1 wherein the bis[dimethylsulfoxide]platinum dichloride complex of the formula: ##STR22## is reacted with the disilver salt of 1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylic acid in aqueous medium in the absence of visible light to provide the intermediate [1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylato(2-)-O,O.sup.1 ]bis-[dimethylsulfoxide]platinum which is then reacted with 2,2-bis(aminomethyl)-1,3-propanediol in aqueous medium at about 50.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. to provide [1,1-cyclobutanedicarboxylato-(2-)-O.sup.1,O.sup.1 ][2,2-bis(aminomethyl)-1,3-propanediol-N,N']platinum of the formula: ##STR23##
