Claims
- 1. A synthetic platelet storage media, comprising an aqueous solution of:
45-120 mM sodium chloride; 5-15 mM sodium citrate; 20-40 mM sodium acetate; 20-30 mM sodium phosphate; and a psoralen at a concentration below its maximum solubility in water.
- 2. The synthetic platelet storage media of claim 1 wherein said media has a pH of approximately 7.2.
- 3. A synthetic platelet storage media, comprising an aqueous solution of:
approximately 86 mM sodium chloride; approximately 10 mM sodium citrate; approximately 30 mM sodium acetate; approximately 26 mM sodium phosphate; and a psoralen at a concentration below its maximum solubility in water.
- 4. The synthetic platelet storage media of claim 3 wherein said media has a pH of approximately pH 7.2 and an osmolarity of approximately 300 mOsm/Kg.
- 5. A synthetic platelet storage media, comprising an aqueous solution of:
approximately 86 mM sodium chloride; approximately 10 mM sodium citrate; approximately 30 mM sodium acetate; and approximately 26 mM sodium phosphate.
