Claims
- 1. In an adaptive brake application and initial skid detection system for braking of a wheel of a vehicle, the system including means for controlling a maximum allowable brake torque to provide an anti-skid control signal responsive to a brake torque signal and a wheel velocity error signal; and command brake pressure signal generating means for generating a command brake pressure signal in response to a deceleration command and said anti-skid control signal, the improvement comprising:means for initializing the means for controlling a maximum allowable brake torque with a predetermined threshold plus a predetermined constant value, to thereby minimize delay of said means for controlling a maximum allowable brake torque in controlling the maximum allowable brake torque.
- 2. The adaptive brake application and initial skid detection system of claim 1, further comprising means for initializing the means for controlling a maximum allowable brake torque to the value of a measured brake torque when the wheel velocity error signal becomes greater than a velocity error threshold.
