- a seal dispenser mounted on said casing, said seal dispenser having a dispensing slot for selective communication with said channel;
- a push pin mounted on said casing for movement into said dispensing slot and said channel; and
- an actuator means for moving said casing into engagement with said box to cause said seal-insert tool to capture said catch and position said exit port adjacent said opening.
- 12. The tool of claim 11 wherein said dispenser includes a seal container capable of holding a supply of said seals, and a second actuator means for moving said dispensing slot into communication with said seal container and selectively placing one of said seals into said dispensing slot.
- 13. The tool of claim 12 wherein said insert means further includes a third actuator means for selectively extending said push pin into said dispensing slot and pushing said seal from said dispensing slot into said channel, and for selectively extending said push pin into said channel for pushing said seal through said exit port into said opening.
- 14. The tool of claim 13 wherein said casing includes a pivoted jaw having means for permitting said jaw to pivot and clear said inserted seal while said insert means disengages said box.
- 15. The tool of claim 14 wherein said dispenser includes a seal sensor mounted adjacent said dispensing slot, said seal sensor including an optical fiber network mounted in communication with said dispensing slot, and a light generator and a light detector connected to said optical fiber network.
- 16. The tool of claim 15 further including a motive means connected to said first, second and third actuator means for imparting motion thereto, and a computer means for controlling said motive means.
- 17. The tool of claim 16 wherein said first, second and third actuator means include pneumatic actuators and said motive means includes a pneumatic supply system.
- 18. The tool of claim 17 wherein said seal sensor connects to said computer means, and said computer means causes said motive means to activate said second actuator means in response to said seal sensor.
- 19. A method of inserting a security seal into an opening in a catch on a coin-collection box, said method comprising:
- mounting a seal inserter on a tool frame, said seal inserter including a channel that terminates at an exit port, a seal dispenser with a dispensing slot for selective communication with said channel, and a push pin for movement into said dispensing slot and said channel;
- moving said seal inserter into engagement with said catch and positioning said exit port adjacent said opening;
- extending said push pin into said dispensing slot and pushing a seal from said dispensing slot into said channel; and
- extending said push pin into said channel for pushing said seal through said exit port into said opening.
- 20. The method of claim 19 wherein said seal inserter includes a seal container capable of holding a supply of said seals, and further including moving said dispensing slot into communication with said seal container and selectively placing one of said seals into said dispensing slot.
- 21. The method of claim 20 wherein said seal inserter includes a seal sensor, rand further including sensing the presence of a seal in said dispensing slot and, in response to failing to sense the presence of a seal in said dispensing slot, moving said dispensing slot into communication with said seal container to deposit a seal into said dispensing slot from said container.
- 22. A seal-insert tool for threading a flexible, rod-shaped security seal, having a longitudinal axis, into a catch having a planar opening with a central axis positioned normal to the plane of said opening, said seal-insert tool comprising:
