- 2. The method of claim 1 further comprising the step of rendering the merged data on a hardcopy document.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the machine-readable code is a glyph code.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the merging step further comprises the step of superimposing the machine-readable code over the inputted text.
- 5. A method for converting a document from a first language into a second language comprising the steps of:
inputting a document into a computer, wherein said document comprises human-readable text written in a first language and at least one foreign language translation of said human-readable text in machine-readable code; selecting at least one of said foreign language translations; and outputting a human-readable translation of said document in said selected foreign language.
- 6. The method of claim 5, wherein said machine-readable code is a glyph code.
- 7. The method of claim 5 wherein said inputting step is further comprised of the step of performing OCR of the human-readable text.
- 8. The method of claim 7 further comprising the step of utilizing an assist channel to perform OCR.
- 9. The method of claim 5 wherein said selecting step is further comprised of the steps of:
manually selecting a desired foreign language; identifying the machine-readable code on the document that corresponds to the desired foreign language; and decoding the machine-readable code.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein said decoding step is further comprised of steps of:
