Claims
- 1. A broadcast antenna feed system, comprising:
a tower antenna feed line; a signal splitter having a first terminal connected to said tower antenna feed line; a first antenna connected to a second terminal of said splitter; a second antenna connected to a third terminal of said splitter; and wherein said first antenna is tuned to a first carrier frequency and wherein said second antenna is tuned to a second carrier frequency
- 2. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 1 wherein said splitter includes a first filter at the second terminal and a second filter at the third terminal.
- 3. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 2 wherein said first filter is a bandpass filter.
- 4. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 3 wherein said second filter is a reflective notch.
- 5. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 4 wherein said first filter passes a UHF signal and said second filter filters out said UHF signal.
- 6. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 5 wherein said second filter passes an FM signal.
- 7. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 5 wherein said second filter passes a VHF signal.
- 8. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 3 wherein said second filter is a bandpass filter.
- 9. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 8 wherein said first filter passes a first UHF signal and wherein said second filter passes a second UHF signal.
- 10. A broadcast antenna feed system, comprising:
feeder means for transmitting a feed signal containing first and second broadcast signals; splitter means, connected to said feeder, for separating out a first and second broadcast transmission signal from said feed signal; and first transmission means and a second transmission means on a broadcast tower for, respectively, transmitting said first and second broadcast transmission signals.
- 11. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 10 wherein said splitter means includes a first filter means and a second filter means for, respectively, separating out a first and second broadcast transmission signal from said feed signal.
- 12. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 11 wherein said first filter means is a bandpass filter.
- 13. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 12 wherein said second filter means is a reflective notch.
- 14. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 13 wherein said first filter passes a UHF signal and said second filter filters out said UHF signal.
- 15. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 13 wherein said second filter passes an FM signal.
- 16. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 15 wherein said second filter passes a VHF signal.
- 17. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 12 wherein said second filter is a bandpass filter.
- 18. The broadcast antenna feed system of claim 17 wherein said first filter passes a first UHF signal and wherein said second filter passes a second UHF signal.
- 19. A method of feeding broadcast antennas, comprising the steps of:
feeding a signal containing first and second broadcast signals to a splitter on an antenna tower; splitting said signal into a first and second broadcast transmission signal at said splitter; transmitting said first broadcast signal over a first antenna; and transmitting said second broadcast signal over a second antenna.
- 20. The method of claim 19 wherein said first broadcast signal is a UHF signal and said second broadcast signal is a VHF signal.
- 21. The method of claim 19 wherein said first broadcast signal is a UHF signal and said second broadcast signal is an FM signal.
- 22. The method of claim 19 wherein said first broadcast signal is an FM signal and said second signal is a HI-V signal.
- 23. The method of claim 19 wherein said first and second broadcast signals are UHF signals at different carrier frequencies.
