Claims
- 1. A method for treating contaminated soil comprising:
spraying contaminated soil with water; collecting water bearing contaminants; adding a photocatalytic slurry to the water bearing contaminants; and exposing the photocatalytic slurry with the water bearing contaminants to electromagnetic radiation.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein collecting water bearing contaminants comprises pumping subterranean water from the water table.
- 3. The method of claim 1 further comprising adding a conditioner to the photocatalytic slurry.
- 4. The method of claim 3 further comprising adding an irreversible electron acceptor to the photocatalytic slurry.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein exposing the photocatalytic slurry with the water bearing contaminants to electromagnetic radiation comprises exposing the photocatalytic slurry with the water bearing contaminants to ultraviolet radiation.
- 6. The method of claim 1 further comprising:
adding a hole scavenger to the photocatalytic slurry to enhance reduction.
