Claims
- 1. A method for remotely ordering image products or services by a customer with respect to digitally stored images, comprising the steps of:
obtaining a digital file of at least one image on behalf of a customer; storing said digital file in a memory device by a third party service provider on behalf of said customer; facilitating remote electronically ordering an image product or service by said customer from said service provider with respect to said at least one image over a communication network: and designating a party by said customer to which said image product or service is to be provided.
- 2. A method according to claim 1 wherein said electronic ordering is accomplished by entering said order using a device capable of providing electronic communication over said communication network.
- 3. A method according to claim 2 wherein said device is a touch pad.
- 4. A method according to claim 3 wherein said device is a phone.
- 5. A method according to claim 4 wherein a touch pad is used on said phone.
- 6. A method according to claim 1 wherein said image product comprises a photographic print.
- 7. A method according to claim 1 wherein said obtaining said digital file comprises scanning a photographic media.
- 8. A method according to claim 1 wherein said electronic ordering comprises ordering by voice.
- 9. A method according to claim 1 wherein said digital file is obtained by scanning a photographic film.
- 10 A method according to claim 1 wherein said image comprises a plurality of images.
- 11. A method according to claim 10 wherein said plurality of images and said order number are printed on an index print.
- 12. A method according to claim 1 further including the step of verifying the address and credit card number of the customer ordering said image product or service.
- 13. A method according to claim 7 wherein the images are scanned in a first location and transferred to a second location for storage.
- 14. An image management system for remotely ordering image products or services by a plurality of customers with respect to digitally stored images, comprising the steps of:
obtaining a digital file of at least one image for each of said plurality of customers; storing said digital file in a memory device by a third party service provider on behalf of each of said customers, each of said digital files have an associated number therewith that can be used for identifying images in said associated digital image file for ordering of said products or services with respect to any image in said associated digital file; and facilitating remote electronically ordering an image product or service by each of said customers from said service provider with respect to said at least one image over a communication network using said using said associated number.
- 15. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said image product or serviced is provided to a party designated by one of said customers.
- 16. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said electronic ordering is accomplished by entering said order using a device capable of providing electronic communication over said communication network.
- 17. An image management system according to claim 16 wherein said device is a touch pad.
- 18. An image management system according to claim 17 wherein said device is a phone.
- 19. An image management system according to claim 17 wherein a touch pad is used on said phone.
- 18. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said image product comprises a photographic print.
- 19. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said obtaining said digital file comprises scanning a photographic media.
- 20. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said electronic ordering comprises ordering by voice.
- 21. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said digital file is obtained by scanning a photographic film.
- 22. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said image comprises a plurality of images.
- 23. An image management system according to claim 22 wherein said plurality of images and said order number is printed on an index print.
- 24. An image management system according to claim 14 wherein said order number identifies the digital file of said index print.
- 25. An image management system according to claim 14 further including the step of verifying the address and credit card number of the customer ordering said image product or service.
- 26. An image management system according to claim 21 wherein the image is scanned in a first location and transferred to a second location for storage.
