Claims
- 1. A system for configuring a user interface presenting patient medical parameter data in a trend indicative display indicating a time period comprising patient parameter acquisition time intervals, comprising:
an acquisition processor for acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter; and a processor for initiating generation of data representing at least one display image for use in configuring a trend indicative display of a patient parameter together with an associated data item by enabling user selection of said data item for trend indicative display and by enabling user association of said selected data item with a property indicating at least one of, (a) said data item represents volume data to be used in patient fluid infusion or output calculation, (b) said data item represents a rate for use in calculation of volume of patient fluid infusion or output and (c) said data item value is to be used in multiple acquisition time intervals of said trend indicative display.
- 2. A user interface system according to claim 1, wherein
said at least one display image enables user association of said data item with a property indicating a unit of measure for said data item.
- 3. A user interface system according to claim 1, wherein
said at least one display image enables at least one of, (a) user selection of data identifying said data item from a menu of existing data items and (b) user creation of data identifying said data item.
- 4. A user interface system according to claim 3, wherein
said at least one display image supports creation of data identifying said data item by enabling user determination of at least one of, (a) a name for said data item, (b) an identification of a type of data of said data item and (c) and ancillary data associated with said type of data.
- 5. A user interface system according to claim 1, wherein
said at least one display image supports association of said patient parameter with at least one of, (a) a parameter label and (b) supplemental data.
- 6. A user interface system according to claim 5, wherein
said at least one display image supports user selection of text characters to comprise said parameter label.
- 7. A user interface system according to claim 5, wherein
said supplemental data is for display in an image window in response to user selection of an image element in said trend indicative display.
- 8. A user interface system according to claim 5, wherein
in response to user selection of an image element in said at least one display image, said processor initiates generation of data representing a display window supporting user entry of supplemental data associated with said patient parameter.
- 9. A user interface system according to claim 8, wherein
said image element comprises said parameter label.
- 10. A user interface system according to claim 1, wherein
said at least one display image supports user selection of an identifier for said data item for presentation in said trend indicative display.
- 11. A user interface system according to claim 8, wherein
said at least one display image supports user selection of text characters to at least one of, (a) comprise said data item identifier, (b) comprise a parameter label associated with said patient parameter, (c) be adjacent to said data identifier and (d) be adjacent to said patient parameter label.
- 12. A user interface system according to claim 1, wherein
said patient parameter comprises at least one of, (a) a blood pressure parameter, (b) a ventilation parameter, (c) a vital sign parameter, (d) a blood oxygen concentration representative parameter, (e) an infusion pump parameter associated with fluid delivery, (f) a drip medication related parameter and (g) another fluid related parameter.
- 13. A user interface system according to claim 1, wherein
said data item comprises at least one of, (a) a volume of patient fluid infusion or output, (b) a rate of volume of patient fluid infusion or output, (c) a blood bank identification number, (d) a blood type identifier, (e) a dosage indicator, (f) an indicator of a drip medication, (g) an intravenous fluid type identifier, (h) a site on a patient associated with said patient parameter and (i) a healthcare worker identifier.
- 14. A user interface system providing a trend indicative display of
patient medical parameter data showing patient parameter acquisition time intervals, comprising:
an acquisition processor for acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter; and a processor for initiating, in response to user command, generation of data representing at least one display image comprising a trend indicative display of,
said patient parameter, and a data item associated with said patient parameter and with a property indicating at least one of, (a) said data item represents volume data to be used in patient fluid infusion or output calculation, (b) said data item represents a rate for use in calculation of volume of patient fluid infusion or output and (c) said data item value is to be used in multiple acquisition time intervals of said trend indicative display.
- 15. A user interface system according to claim 13, wherein
said trend indicative display includes at least one of, (a) a name for said data item, (b) a unit of measure of said data item, (c) a parameter label, (d) an identifier for said data item
- 16. A user interface system according to claim 13, wherein
in response to user selection of an image element in said trend indicative display said processor initiates generation of data representing at least one display image including supplemental data associated with said patient parameter.
- 17. A user interface system according to claim 15, wherein
said image element comprises said parameter label.
- 18. A user interface system providing a trend indicative display of patient medical parameter data showing patient parameter acquisition time intervals, comprising:
an acquisition processor for acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter; and a processor for initiating, in response to user command, generation of data representing at least one display image comprising,
a trend indicative display of said patient parameter, and an image element in said trend indicative display responsive to user selection for initiating generation of data representing an image window including supplemental data associated with said patient parameter, said supplemental data being excluded from a window presenting said trend indicative display of said patient parameter.
- 19. A user interface system according to claim 18, wherein
said image element comprises said parameter label.
- 20. A method for configuring a system for presenting patient medical parameter data in a trend indicative display indicating a time period comprising patient parameter acquisition time intervals, comprising the steps of:
acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter; and initiating generation of data representing at least one display image for use in configuring a trend indicative display of a patient parameter together with an associated data item by enabling user selection of said data item for trend indicative display and by enabling user association of said selected data item with a property indicating at least one of, (a) said data item represents volume data to be used in patient fluid infusion or output calculation, (b) said data item represents a rate for use in calculation of volume of patient fluid infusion or output and (c) said data item value is to be used in multiple acquisition time intervals of said trend indicative display.
- 21. A method for providing a trend indicative display of patient medical parameter data showing patient parameter acquisition time intervals, comprising the steps of:
acquiring, from a patient monitoring device, data representing a patient parameter; and initiating, in response to user command, generation of data representing at least one display image comprising a trend indicative display of,
said patient parameter, and a data item associated with said patient parameter and with a property indicating at least one of, (a) said data item represents volume data to be used in patient fluid infusion or output calculation, (b) said data item represents a rate for use in calculation of volume of patient fluid infusion or output and (c) said data item value is to be used in multiple acquisition time intervals of said trend indicative display.
