Abstract
A system component (1), such as, for example a knitting machine needle (2), intended for a loop-forming machine has in its foot (8) at least one cutout (14) that is set up to accommodate a section of a holder (17). This holder can be clipped into the cutout in order to hold several such system components in a pre-specified sequence and at a lateral distance and in alignment with respect to each other. The systems components, which are thus temporarily connected to each other, can be handled as a unit and, in this manner, can be removed from the bed (5), can be treated, for example be cleaned, and can be replaced in the same sequence and alignment in the bed (5).
Description

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a schematic side view of a system component designed as a knitting machine needle.

FIG. 2 is a detail of a schematic side view of a modified embodiment of a system component designed as a double-foot knitting machine needle.

FIG. 3 is a detail of a perspective view, using a different scale, of the knitting machine needle in accordance with FIG. 1.

FIG. 4 is the knitting machine in accordance with FIG. 3, with a holder in the form of a rubber cord.

FIG. 5 is a bed of a loop-forming machine with system components and the holder accommodated therein.

FIG. 6 is the unit formed of the holder and the system components following the removal from the bed in accordance with FIG. 5.

FIG. 7 is a schematic side view of a detail of another embodiment of a system component with a holder.

FIG. 8 is a schematic side view of a detail of a system component having a cutout for the accommodation of the holder in the shaft region of the system component.

Claims
  • 1. System component (1) for a knitting system, comprising a body (3) that is intended for the accommodation in a guide channel (4) of a loop-forming machine, and comprising at least one means (14) that is provided for the temporary connection with at least one section (18, 18a) of a holder (17).
  • 2. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the body (3) has a projection (8), on which the means (14) is arranged.
  • 3. System component in accordance with claim 2, characterized in that the projection (8) is a foot.
  • 4. System component in accordance with claim 2, characterized in that the foot (8) is provided for driving the system component (1) by means of a cam box.
  • 5. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the means (14) has an open-edge cutout (14) with a mouth (15) having a width that is smaller than the diameter of the holder (17).
  • 6. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the means (14) has an open-edge cutout (14) with a mouth (15) having a width that is smaller than the width of the cutout (14).
  • 7. System component in accordance with claim 6, characterized in that the width of the mouth (15) is 70% to 90% of the width of the cutout (14).
  • 8. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the means (14) is a cutout (14) having an edge (16) that follows an arc.
  • 9. System component in accordance with claim 5, characterized in that the means (14) is a cutout (14) having an edge (16) that follows a polygon.
  • 10. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the holder (17) is an element made of an elastic material.
  • 11. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the holder (17) is a rubber cord (18).
  • 12. System component in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the holder (17) has a round cross-section.
  • 13. System component in accordance with claim 4, characterized in that the holder (17) has a cross-section which is greater than the cutout (14).
  • 14. Set consisting of at least one system component in accordance with claim 1 and of the holder (17) assigned to said system component.
  • 15. Method for handling system components in accordance with claim 1, said components being of a knitting system, whereby the system components (1)—as long as they are in a bed (5)—are temporarily connected to each other for handling by means of the holder (17);the system components (1) are removed in this configuration from a bed (5) and reinserted in the bed (5); and,the holder (17) is removed once the system components (1) have been reinserted in their bed (5).
  • 16. Method in accordance with claim 15 for handling the system components of a knitting system, whereby the holder (17) is elastically deformed for insertion in the cutouts (14) of the system components (1).
