Claims
- 1. A digital information recording medium having an audio data area for storing audio contents, a video data area for storing video contents, an audio management block for storing audio management information, and a video management block for storing video management information, said medium comprising:a first substrate; a second substrate; and an adhesive layer sandwiched between said first and second substrates, wherein said audio management information includes search information for accessing any of the audio contents and video contents which are recorded in the different audio data area and video data area, respectively, wherein said audio management information includes an audio manager information management table, wherein said audio manager information management table includes auto play information specifying playback status after loading the recording medium into a player configured to playback the medium, and start address information for an audio still video set that defines a set of an audio still video, wherein a backup block for said audio management information is associated with said audio management information and includes a backup of said audio management information containing said playback status, and wherein contents of said audio data area are recorded in audio packs configured to store data of the audio contents, and still picture packs configured to store data of a still picture to be played back during playback of the contents of said audio packs, and wherein said first substrate has a first refractive index and a thickness, and the first refractive index with respect to the thickness is selected to be a range defined within the following points, refractive index=1.45 with the thickness of 0.653 mm, refractive index=1.56 with the thickness of 0.640 mm, refractive index=1.65 with the thickness of 0.640 mm, refractive index=1.65 with the thickness of 0.550 mm, refractive index=1.56 with the thickness of 0.550 mm, refractive index=1.45 with the thickness of 0.563 mm.
- 2. A medium according to claim 1, wherein said audio management information includes a search pointer table, andwherein said search pointer table includes a first search pointer including address information of the audio contents, and a second search pointer including address information of the video contents.
- 3. A medium according to claim 1, wherein said audio management block storing said audio management information has physically or logically smaller addresses than addresses of said video management block.
- 4. A medium according to claim 1,wherein said audio contents includes audio title set information, wherein said audio title set information includes audio title set program chain information for controlling the audio contents, wherein said audio title set program chain information includes an audio still video playback information table, and wherein said audio still video playback information table includes audio still video playback search pointers and audio still video playback information.
- 5. A medium according to claim 1, wherein contents of said audio data area are recorded inaudio packs for storing data of the audio contents, and still picture packs for storing data of a still picture to be played back during playback of the contents of said audio packs.
- 6. A medium according to claim 1,wherein said audio contents includes audio data and audio title set information management information, and wherein said audio title set information management information includes attribute information indicating a predetermined sampling frequency and a predetermined number of quantization bits used in the audio data.
- 7. A medium according to claim 1,wherein said audio contents includes audio data and audio title set information management information, and wherein said audio title set information management information includes coefficient information indicating a coefficient upon mixing down the audio data having multi-channel outputs to 2-channel outputs.
- 8. An apparatus for playing back the audio or video contents from the medium as defined in claim 1.
- 9. A method for playing back the audio or video contents from the medium as defined in claim 1.
- 10. A medium according to claim 1, wherein the backup of said audio management information is closer than the audio contents backup area to a lead-in area of the digital information medium.
- 11. A digital information recording medium having an audio data area for storing audio contents, a video data area for storing video contents, an audio management block for storing audio management information, and a video management block for storing video management information, said medium comprising:a first substrate; a second substrate; an adhesive layer sandwiched between said first and second substrates; an audio zone of said information recording medium comprising the audio data area and the audio management block, wherein the audio contents and the video contents are disposed on the information recording medium to be accessed for playback based on the audio management information, wherein the audio management information includes an audio manager information management table, wherein said audio manager information management table includes auto play information specifying playback status after loading the recording medium into a player configured to playback the medium, and start address information for an audio still video set that defines a set of an audio still video, wherein a backup block for said audio management information is associated with said audio management information and includes a backup of said audio management information containing said playback status, and wherein contents of said audio data area are recorded in audio packs configured to store data of the audio contents, and still picture packs configured to store data of a still picture to be played back during playback of the contents of said audio packs, and a video zone of said information recording medium comprising the video data area and the video management block, wherein the video contents are disposed on the information recording medium to be accessed for playback based on the video management information.
- 12. A player apparatus for playing back a digital information recording medium having an audio data area for storing audio contents, a video data area for storing video contents, an audio management block for storing audio management information, and a video management block for storing video management information, said medium comprising: a first substrate, a second substrate, and an adhesive layer sandwiched between said first and second substrates, wherein said audio management information includes search information for accessing any of the audio contents and video contents which are recorded in the different audio data area and video data area, respectively, wherein said audio management information includes an audio manager information management table, wherein said audio manager information management table includes auto play information specifying playback status after loading the recording medium into a player configured to playback the medium, and start address information for an audio still video set that defines a set of an audio still video, wherein a backup block for said audio management information is associated with said audio management information and includes a backup of said audio management information containing said playback status, and wherein contents of said audio data area are recorded in audio packs configured to store data of the audio contents, and still picture packs configured to store data of a still picture to be played back during playback of the contents of said audio packs,wherein said first substrate has a first refractive index and a thickness, and the first refractive index with respect to the thickness is selected to be a range defined within the following points, refractive index=1.45 with the thickness of 0.653 mm, refractive index=1.56 with the thickness of 0.640 mm, refractive index=1.65 with the thickness of 0.640 mm, refractive index=1.65 with the thickness of 0.550 mm, refractive index=1.56 with the thickness of 0.550 mm, refractive index=1.45 with the thickness of 0.563 mm, and wherein said audio management information and said backup of said audio management information is closer to a lead-in area of the digital information medium than an audio contents backup area, comprising: a system controller, capable of controlling operations of the player, and comprising a stored control program, wherein the system controller controls the operations of the player using the stored control program; a disk drive configured to rotate the digital information recording medium and to read out recorded data from the digital information recording medium; an audio decoder; and a video decoder.
