Claims
- 1. A method for information distribution comprising:
placing digital information into a broadcast signal; capturing said digital information from said broadcast signal upon broadcast thereof; transforming said captured digital information into a format recognizable to a mobile communication device; and storing said transformed information on said mobile communication device.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein placing digital information into a broadcast signal includes providing a coupon and converting said coupon into digital information.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein said placing digital information into a broadcast signal includes coupling said digital information with at least one video signal.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein coupling said digital information with said at least one video signal includes encoding said digital information into said at least one video signal.
- 5. The method of claim 4, wherein said encoding includes amplitude modulation.
- 6. The method of claim 4, wherein said encoding includes frequency modulation.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein said placing digital information into a broadcast signal includes coupling said digital information into at least one audio signal.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein said storing said transformed information includes storing said transformed information in a form that is visible on a display screen.
- 9. The method of claim 1, wherein said storing said transformed information includes storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable over a cellular network.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein said storing said transformed information includes storing said transformation information in a form that is transmittable by radio frequency (RF).
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein said RF includes Bluetooth®.
- 12. The method of claim 1, wherein said storing said transformed information includes storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by Infra Red (IR).
- 13. The method of claim 2, wherein said placing information corresponding to at least one coupon into a broadcast signal includes coupling said information corresponding to at least one coupon with at least one video signal.
- 14. The method of claim 2, wherein said placing information corresponding to at least one coupon into a broadcast signal includes coupling said information corresponding to at least one coupon with at least one audio signal.
- 15. The method of claim 2, additionally comprising, redeeming said coupon comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is visible on a display screen of a said mobile communication device; and activating said mobile communication device to display said information on said display screen, for said information to be readable by a reader at a point of sale.
- 16. The method of claim 15, wherein said information on said display screen includes a bar code.
- 17. The method of claim 2, additionally comprising, redeeming said coupon comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by infra red (IR) light; and activating said mobile communication device to transmit said infra red light, for said infra red light to be readable by a receiver at a point of sale.
- 18. The method of claim 2, wherein said coupon is redeemed comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by radio frequency (RF); and activating said mobile communication device to transmit said RF, for said RF to be readable by a receiver at a point of sale.
- 19. The method of claim 18, wherein said radio frequency is in accordance with Bluetooth®.
- 20. The method of claim 2, wherein said coupon is redeemed comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by cellular transmissions; and activating said mobile communication device to transmit said cellular transmissions to be readable by a receiver at a point of sale.
- 21. A method for information distribution comprising:
placing digital information into a visual pattern; capturing said digital information from said visual pattern by scanning said pattern; transforming said captured digital information into a format recognizable to a mobile communication device, and storing said transformed information on said mobile communication device.
- 22. The method of claim 21, wherein placing digital information into a visual pattern includes providing a coupon and converting said coupon into digital information.
- 23. The method of claim 21, wherein said visual pattern includes a bar code.
- 24. The method of claim 22, additionally comprising, redeeming said coupon comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is visible on a display screen of a said mobile communication device; and activating said mobile communication device to display said information on said display screen, for said information to be readable by a reader at a point of sale.
- 25. The method of claim 24, wherein said information on said display screen includes a bar code.
- 26. The method of claim 21, additionally comprising, redeeming said coupon comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by infra red (IR) light; and activating said mobile communication device to transmit said infra red light, for said infra red light to be readable by a receiver at a point of sale.
- 27. The method of claim 21, additionally comprising redeeming said coupon comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by radio frequency (RF); and activating said mobile communication device to transmit said RF, for said RF to be readable by a receiver at a point of sale.
- 28. The method of claim 27, wherein said radio frequency is in accordance with Bluetooth®.
- 29. The method of claim 21, additionally comprising, redeeming said coupon comprising:
storing said transformed information in a form that is transmittable by cellular transmissions; and activating said mobile communication device to transmit said cellular transmissions to be readable by a receiver at a point of sale.
- 30. A method for coupon redemption and purchasing in accordance with said coupon redemption comprising:
receiving coupled first and second information from a user, said first information corresponding to at least one coupon and said second information corresponding to the identification of said user, storing said first and second information in at least one storage media; storing third information in at least one data base for each user, said third information for each user including identification data for said user and purchasing data for said user; attempting to match said second information with said identification data for said user from said third information, and if there is a match; sending a purchase order and a payment to a supplier of the good or service corresponding to said coupon; and charging at least one financial instrument associated with said user for said good or service in accordance with said coupon.
- 31. The method of claim 30, wherein said receiving coupled first and second information includes receiving said information from a cellular transmission.
- 32. The method of claim 30, wherein said receiving coupled first and second information includes receiving said information from a radio frequency transmission.
- 33. The method of claim 30, wherein said receiving coupled first and second information includes receiving said information from an infra red (IR) transmission.
- 34. The method of claim 30, wherein said first information corresponding to a coupon has different monetary values, depending on the time of its transmission by said user.
- 35. The method of claim 30, wherein said second information includes a personal identification number (PIN) of a said user.
- 36. The method of claim 30, wherein said second information includes the cellular telephone number of said user.
- 37. The method of claim 30, wherein said identification data of said third information includes information selected from the group comprising:
Personal Identification numbers, telephone numbers or both.
- 38. The method of claim 30, wherein said third information includes information selected from the group comprising: credit card data, debit card data, bank transfer data, or combinations thereof.
- 39. A reading apparatus comprising:
a sensor for receiving a first transmission of first information; receiver processing circuitry in communication with said sensor configured for receiving said first transmission and transforming said first information of said first transmission into a format compatible with that of a mobile communication device; and a first activatable controller in communication with said sensor and said receiver processing circuitry configured for activating said sensor and said processing circuitry to capture said first transmission.
- 40. The reading apparatus of claim 39, additionally comprising:
a second activatable controller for signaling a mobile communication device to send a second transmission including second information corresponding to said first information.
- 41. The reading apparatus of claim 39, wherein said receiver processing circuitry is additionally configured for decoding said first information.
- 42. The reading apparatus of claim 39, wherein said receiver processing circuitry is additionally configured for storing said first information.
- 43. The apparatus of claim 39, wherein said mobile communication device includes a personal digital assistant.
- 44. The apparatus of claim 39, wherein said mobile communication device includes a cellular telephone.
- 45. The apparatus of claim 39, wherein said sensor includes a photodetector.
- 46. The apparatus of claim 45, wherein said photodetector includes a photodiode.
- 47. The apparatus of claim 39, wherein said sensor includes a microphone.
- 48. The apparatus of claim 39, wherein said sensor includes an infra red detector.
- 49. The apparatus of claim 39, wherein said sensor includes a radio frequency detector.
- 50. A reading apparatus comprising:
a sensor for receiving a first transmission of first information; receiver processing circuitry in communication with said sensor configured for receiving said first transmission and transforming said first information of said first transmission into a format compatible with that of a printing device; and a first activatable controller in communication with said sensor and said receiver processing circuitry configured for activating said sensor and said processing circuitry to capture said first transmission.
- 51. The reading apparatus of claim 50, additionally comprising: a second activatable controller in communication with said receiver processing circuitry, said second controller configured for manual activation and for sending at least one signal to said printing device for activation of said printing device.
- 52. The reading apparatus of claim 50, wherein said receiver processing circuitry is additionally configured for decoding said first information.
- 53. The reading apparatus of claim 50, wherein said receiver processing circuitry is additionally configured for storing said first information.
- 54. The apparatus of claim 50, wherein said printing device includes a hand-held printer
- 55. The apparatus of claim 50, wherein said sensor includes a photodetector.
- 56. The apparatus of claim 55, wherein said photodetector includes a photodiode.
- 57. The apparatus of claim 50, wherein said sensor includes a microphone.
- 58. The apparatus of claim 50, wherein said sensor includes an infra red detector.
- 59. The apparatus of claim 50, wherein said sensor includes a radio frequency detector.
- 60. A method for information distribution comprising:
broadcasting said information; providing a time period synchronized with said broadcasting of said information; receiving at least one transmission from at least one user, said at least one transmission including at least one address of said at least one user, within said time period; and providing said at least one user with said information at said address.
- 61. The method of claim 60, wherein said information includes a coupon.
- 62. The method of claim 60, wherein said address includes a telephone number.
- 63. The method of claim 60, wherein said address includes an electronic mail address.
- 64. The method of claim 60, wherein said address includes a postal address.
- 65. The method of claim 60, wherein receiving said at least one transmission from at leas one user includes receiving a cellular transmission.
- 66. The method of claim 60, wherein receiving said at least one transmission from at leas one user includes receiving an electronic message.
- 67. The method of claim 66, wherein said electronic message includes at least one electronic mail.
- 68. The method of claim of claim 60, wherein said broadcasting said information includes broadcasting a plurality of portions of information, each of said portions including at least one identifier associated therewith.
- 69. The method of claim 68, wherein said step of receiving said at least one transmission from said at least one user additionally includes data corresponding to at said at least one identifier associated with said portion of said information.
- 70. A method for information distribution comprising:
providing digital information; capturing said digital information with a video camera; transforming said captured digital information into a format recognizable to a mobile communication device, and storing said transformed information on said mobile communication device.
- 71. The method of claim 70, wherein said digital information includes providing said digital information in text form.
- 72. The method of claim 70, wherein said digital information includes at least one machine readable form.
- 73. The method of claim 72, wherein said at least one machine readable form is selected from the group comprising: visual patterns, bar codes, and combinations thereof.
- 74. The method of claim 70, wherein said digital information includes information corresponding to a coupon.
- 75. A method for information distribution comprising:
providing digital information in the form of light pulses; capturing said digital information by scanning with a light pulse reader; transforming said captured digital information into a format recognizable to a mobile communication device, and storing said transformed information on said mobile communication device.
- 76. The method of claim 75, wherein said light pulse reader includes a video camera.
- 77. The method of claim 75, wherein said light pulse reader includes a photodetector.
- 78. The method of claim 75, wherein said digital information includes information corresponding to a coupon.
