- 29. The method of claim 1 wherein said client accesses said reference document from storage media local to said client.
- 30. The method of claim 1 wherein said steps of linking and converting are performed by a computer.
- 31. A system for converting reference materials into interactive reference materials comprising:
means for obtaining at least one reference document in a computer readable form; means for searching said reference document for a piece of reference text having a pre-determined value; means for tagging said reference text with a tag indicating a reference text type; means for repeating said steps of searching and tagging until all pieces of reference text have been tagged; means for linking a first piece of reference text with a first value and a first type with a second piece of reference text having a related type and a related value; means for converting said at least one reference documents into a browser readable format; means for allowing a user to access said reference documents from a client; and means for providing to said user the ability to jump from said first piece of reference text to said second piece of reference text.
- 32. A method for converting reference materials into interactive reference materials comprising:
obtaining at least one reference document in ASCII text format; searching said reference document for a piece of reference text having a pre-determined value and being within a first disclosure; associating with said reference text a hyperlink directed to a location in said document separate from said reference link having a second disclosure related to said first disclosure; and converting said at least one reference documents into HTML.
