Claims
- 1. A system, comprising:an electrode structure adapted to be deployed in a body; a roving element adapted to be deployed in the body; an operative element carried on one of the electrode structure or roving element; a device coupled to the operative element to condition the operative element to perform a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure while deployed in the body; and an image controller configured to generate an image of the electrode structure while the operative element performs the procedure, the image depicting a proximity image of the roving element to the electrode structure.
- 2. A system according to claim 1, wherein the electrode structure comprises an elongated body.
- 3. A system according to claim 1, wherein the electrode structure comprises a loop.
- 4. A system according to claim 1, wherein the electrode structure comprises a three-dimensional basket.
- 5. A system according to claim 1, wherein the electrode structure comprises an outer electrode element and an inner array of electrode elements located within the outer electrode element.
- 6. A system according to claim 1, wherein the operative element is located on the roving element.
- 7. A system according to claim 1, wherein the operative element is located on the electrode structure.
- 8. A system according to claim 1, wherein the image comprises an idealized graphical image.
- 9. A system according to claim 1, wherein the image controller includes an input for establishing a proximity threshold for the proximity image.
- 10. A system according to claim 1, the image controller comprising an output coupled to a display device for visually presenting the image.
- 11. A method of recording the use of structures deployed inside a body, comprising:introducing in a body an electrode structure having one or more electrodes; transmitting electrical energy to one or more of the electrodes to create an electrical field between the electrode or electrodes and a reference electrode; introducing in the body a roving element having one or more electrodes, one of the electrode structure and roving element carrying an operative element conditioned to perform a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure; and generating an image of the proximity of the roving element to the electrode structure while the operative element performs the procedure.
- 12. A method according to claim 11, wherein generating the image of the proximity of the roving element to the electrode structure is based in part on voltage amplitudes sensed by one or more of the electrodes in the electrical field.
- 13. A method according to claim 12, wherein generating an image includes inputting a threshold proximity value for comparison to sensed voltage amplitudes.
- 14. A method according to claim 11, wherein generating an image includes displaying the output.
