Claims
- 1. A therapeutic composition in dosage unit form effective as an antihistamine comprising a therapeutically effective inhibiting amount of a p-alkyl phenoxy alkanol ester selected from the group consisting of: ##STR36##
- 2. A therapeutic composition according to claim 1 in which the ester is ##STR37##
- 3. A therapeutic composition according to claim 1 in which the ester is ##STR38##
- 4. A therapeutic composition according to claim 1 in which the ester is ##STR39##
- 5. A method for the antihistaminic treatment of animals in need of said treatment which comprises administering to the animal an amount therapeutically effective as an antihistamine of a p-alkyl phenoxy alcohol ester selected from the group consisting of: ##STR40##
- 6. A method according to claim 5 in which the administration is orally.
- 7. A method according to claim 5 which comprises administering a composition according to claim 1, in dosage unit form.
- 8. A phenoxy alkanol ester selected from the group consisting of: ##STR41##
- 9. A p-alkyl phenoxy alkanol ester according to claim 8 having the formula: ##STR42##
- 10. A p-alkyl phenoxy alkanol ester according to claim 8 having the formula: ##STR43##
- 11. A p-alkyl phenoxy alkanol ester according to claim 8 having the formula: ##STR44##
