Abstract
Geartac is a storage device that allows athletes to suspend and store the gear used in their sport. The gear could consist of anything from boxing gloves to skateboarding knee pads. Geartacs' multifunctional de-sign gives you the ability to suspend your gear from a completely portable utility belt. The belt is made from 2″ velcro strapping which allows the gear to be attached to the strap using the velcro straps on the gear to hang and store or to just air out and dry. Its' unique suspension system consists of a three way buckle which allows you to hang it anywhere on the go. The strap has a snap hook and a D-ring enclosure which allows it to be clipped to any hook, eyebolt, or horizontal bar. Whether you're at home, the gym, the rink or the ring, Geartac hangs your equipment in one compact space and permits it to vent freely while air drying to help prevent the spread of bacteria.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In the world of Mixed Martial Arts, the life span of athletic gear is greatly diminished because it is constantly saturated with perspiration. Traditional storage devices such as bags create odor and spread bacteria. Geartac was created to eliminate odor and halt the spread of bacteria, dramatically increasing the durability of sporting gear.

BRIEF SUMMARRY OF THE INVENTION

Geartac is a device that allows you to un-clip and transport your gear in one bundle to your next event because of the velcro hook and loop system.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

a Exploded profile of “TAGH1” giving thickness.

FIG. 2
b Exploded front view of “TAGH1” giving, width, and hardware dimensions and placement.

FIG. 3
a 2″ Plastic D-ring and dimensions. D-rings are used mainly as attachment points. They are also useful in belts with “double D-ring buckles”.

FIG. 3
b 2″ Plastic slide and dimensions. Slides are strap adjusters, used in conjunction with side release buckles. They allow for a fairly large range of sizes in collars, fanny pack belts, etc.

FIG. 4
a 2″ Metal snap-hook and dimensions. This style is excellent for shoulder straps, camera straps, purses, etc.

FIG. 4
b 2″ Double adjust side release buckle and dimensions. The double adjust buckle is commonly used on light duty straps where you need to adjust the strap on both sides of the buckle. You can use them for back packs, fanny packs, belts, etc.

FIG. 5
a This diagram provides a picture of how the D-ring can be used to hook “TAGH1” over a peg hook.

FIG. 5
b Depicts the metal snap-hook and how it is used to snap through a hook eye bolt.

FIG. 6
a Shows a side view of how “TAGH1” can be wrapped around a clothing bar rack and then fastened to itself using the metal snap-hook and D-ring to act as a catch for the metal snap.

FIG. 6
b Is a front view showing how the meatal snap-hook interacts with the D-ring to create a “hook and loop” enclosure.

FIG. 7
a 2″ one-wrap velcro tape and dimensions. 25 Yard Roll ONE-WRAP. Available in: Black, White & Yellow. Reusable and flexible, patented VELCRO® brand ONE-WRAP® self-gripping fasteners are a unique back-to-back fastening system. VELCRO® brand ONE-WRAP® straps wrap around objects to be bundled or controlled, and then the remaining strap tip attaches back onto itself for a neat and secure closure without buckles or hardware. Operating temperature range: 0 to 220° F.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

TAGH1 is virtually a vertically oriented utility belt. It utilizes 6′ of velcro attached in a loop format, see FIG. 1b by a 2″ double adjust side release buckle, see FIG. 4b to enclose the loop for hanging. The ends of the strap are then finished secure with a 2″ plastice slide, see FIG. 3b. To create the three way hook and loop attachment the top of the velcro loop has been fitted with both a 2″ D-ring, see FIG. 3a and a 2″ metal snap-hook, see FIG. 4a. Both of these pieces can either hook over a knob or post with the D-ring, see FIG. 5a or snap through a hook eye with the metal snap hook, see FIG. 5b. In order to accommodate larger diameter fixtures with circumferences as large as 2″, one can wrap the strap over the bar and connect both the 2″ D-ring to the 2″ metal snaphook, see FIGS. 6a and 6b. as a large band enclosure. Once the device is hanging in one of its many states, athletic gear using velcro closures can be secured to the “TAGH1” using the “velcro” hook and loop system. The “TAGH1” has 360 degrees of “velcro” hook and loop closures to allow gear to be stored anywear on the device using both the inside “hook” system and the outside, softer, “loop” system created by the velcro.

Claims
  • 1. “TAGH1” is a device that stores and holds athletes' gear in such a way that the open air venting allows the gear to dry freely and more efficiently then if in an enclosed storage device.
