Claims
- 1. A tape cartridge which comprises:
- a main casing containing a tape, the main casing having an upper wall with an upper surface, including ports for drawing out tape formed on a front portion of the main casing at left and right sides thereof, and a pocket with an upper surface at a rear side for tape loading, the pocket being open at upper and lower sides and front side of the pocket between said ports and formed in a recess at said front portion of the main casing,
- a front lid having a front wall pivotally supported for upward movement on said front portion of the main casing by a shaft for selective movement between a closed position and an upward rotated open position for closing and opening, respectively, of said front portion of the main casing,
- an upper lid for selectively opening and closing an upper face of the pocket along with the opening and closing, respectively, of the front lid, the upper lid having a main face plate being pivotally connected by way of pins at a forward edge of said main face plate of the upper lid to an upper edge of said front wall of said front lid, said main face plate being spaced above an upper surface of said main casing when said front lid is in the open position, and
- means provided between said main casing and said upper lid for guiding said upper lid so that said main face plate of said upper lid is withdrawn towards a rear portion on said upper surface of said pocket along with said upward opening rotation of said front lid such that said main face plate extends substantially parallel to said upper surface of said main casing throughout a full range of movement of said main face plate, wherein an upward and rearward extending covering wall is integrally formed at said upper edge of said front wall of said front lid for extending over and covering the forward edge of said main face plate of said upper lid when said front lid is in said closed position.
- 2. The tape cartridge as claimed in claim 1, wherein said guiding means includes arm pieces provided to depend from opposite sides of the main face plate of the upper lid and having sliding pieces provided at forward ends of the arm pieces, and arcuate guide grooves formed in forward and backward directions on opposite side walls of the pocket, the sliding pieces of the arm pieces being slidably received in said guide grooves.
- 3. The tape cartridge as claimed in claim 2, wherein the forward edge of said main face plate of said upper lid is formed into a convex arcuate shape in a longitudinal side sectional view, and wherein an inner face of said covering wall is formed into a concave curved face generally following the forward edge shape of said main face plate.
- 4. The tape cartridge as claimed in claim 2, wherein on the upper edge of the front wall of said front lid, boss portions having the pins are provided to extend rearward at opposite sides of said covering wall, with pin holes pivotally receiving said pins being provided at opposite ends on the forward edge of the main face plate of said upper lid, and wherein at upper edges of the opposite side walls of said pocket, said recesses for receiving and supporting said boss portions from above in a closed state of said upper lid are provided.
- 5. The tape cartridge as claimed in claim 1, wherein at an outer side bottom surface of said main casing, a slider member is slidably attached for selective sliding movement in forward direction and a backward direction.
- 6. The tape cartridge as claimed in claim 5, wherein in a lower edge inner face of said front wall of said front lid, a recess portion is provided to extend laterally so that a forward edge of said slider member engages said recess portion.
