The present disclosure relates generally to packages, and more specifically to tape dispenser packages.
Rolls of tape may be packaged for retail display. Sometimes the rolls of tape are removed from the original packaging and placed in another container for dispensing the tape.
The present disclosure may comprise one or more of the following features and combinations thereof.
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a tape dispenser package includes an integrally formed carton, a tube, and a plurality of rolls of tape. The integrally formed carton includes a storage box, a lid, and tube mounts. The storage box is formed to define an internal-storage cavity. The lid is coupled with the storage box along a living hinge and is movable selectively about the living hinge to allow and block access to the internal-storage cavity. The tube mounts are coupled to the storage box about living hinges. The tube is located in the internal-storage cavity of the storage box. The tube has a first end and a second end spaced apart from the first end. The plurality of rolls of tape is mounted on the tube.
The tube mounts may include a first support and a second support. The first end of the tube may extend into the first support and may be supported by the first support for rotation relative to the first support. The second end of the tube may extend into the second support and may be supported by the second support for rotation relative to the second support.
In some embodiments, the second support includes an outer-support wall, an inner-support wall, and a bridge that extends between and interconnects the outer-support wall and the inner support wall. The outer-support wall is formed to include an aperture. The inner-support wall is formed to include an aperture. The second end of the tube is located in the apertures of the outer-support wall and the inner-support wall.
In some embodiments, the outer-support wall is generally parallel with the inner-support wall. In some embodiments, the bridge is generally perpendicular with the outer-support wall. In some embodiments, the apertures formed in the outer-support wall and the inner-support wall are circular.
In some embodiments, the storage box includes a front wall, a rear wall opposite the front wall, a bottom wall that interconnects the front wall and the rear wall, a first end cap coupled to the front wall and the rear wall, and a second end cap coupled to the front wall and the rear wall. The front wall, the rear wall, the bottom wall, the first end cap, and the second end cap cooperate to define the internal-storage cavity.
In some embodiments, the storage box includes a bottom wall, a front wall, a rear wall, and a hook receiver. The front wall is coupled with the bottom wall about a living hinge. The rear wall is spaced apart from the front wall and coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge. The hook receiver is coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge. The bottom wall is formed to include an aperture having a first shape and the hook receiver is formed to include an aperture that has the first shape.
In some embodiments, the first support includes an outer-support wall, an inner-support wall, and a bridge. The outer-support wall is coupled with the hook receiver along a living hinge. The bridge is coupled with the outer-support wall along a living hinge. The inner-support wall is coupled with the bridge along a living hinge. The outer-support wall of the first support is formed to include an aperture. The inner-support wall of the first support is formed to include an aperture. The first end of the tube is located in the apertures of the outer-support wall and the inner-support wall of the first support.
In some embodiments, the second support includes an outer-support wall, an inner support wall, and a bridge that extends between and interconnects the outer-support wall and the inner support wall of the second support. The outer-support wall of the second support is coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge. The bridge is coupled with the outer-support wall of the second support along a living hinge. The inner-support wall of the second support is coupled with the bridge of the second support along a living hinge.
In some embodiments, the lid is coupled with the rear wall along the living hinge. The front wall is formed to include a serrated cutting edge.
In some embodiments, the storage box includes a first end cap. The first end cap has a front-end wall formed to include anchor tabs and a rear-end wall formed to include tab-receiver slits. The front-end wall is coupled with the front wall along a living hinge. The rear-end wall is coupled with the rear wall along a living hinge. The anchor tabs extend into the tab-receiver slits.
According to another aspect of the present disclosure, a tape dispenser package includes a carton that includes a storage box, a lid, and tube mounts. The storage box is formed to define an internal-storage cavity. The lid is coupled with the storage box along a living hinge and is movable selectively about the living hinge to allow and block access to the internal-storage cavity. The tube mounts are located in the storage box. The tube mounts include a first support formed to include at least one aperture therein and a second support formed to include at least one aperture therein. In some embodiments, the storage box is transparent and made of plastics materials.
In some embodiments, the tape dispenser package further includes a tube located in the internal-storage cavity of the storage box. The tube includes a first end located in the at least one aperture formed in the first support and a second end located in the at least one aperture formed in the second support. In some embodiments, the tape dispenser package further includes a roll of tape arranged round the tube.
In some embodiments, the second support includes an outer-support wall, an inner-support wall, and a bridge. The bridge extends between and interconnects the outer-support wall and the inner-support wall. The outer-support wall is generally parallel with the inner-support wall. The bridge is generally perpendicular with the outer-support wall.
In some embodiments, the storage box includes a bottom wall, a front wall coupled with the bottom wall about a living hinge, and a rear wall spaced apart from the front wall and coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge. The first support is coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge. The second support is coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge.
In some embodiments, the storage box includes a hook receiver coupled with the bottom wall along a living hinge. The bottom wall is formed to include an aperture having a first shape. The hook receiver is formed to include an aperture that has the first shape.
In some embodiments, the first support includes an outer-support wall, a bridge, and an inner support wall. The outer-support wall is coupled with the hook receiver along a living hinge. The bridge is coupled with the outer-support wall along a living hinge. The inner-support wall is coupled with the bridge along a living hinge. The outer-support wall of the first support is formed to include an aperture included in the at least one aperture formed in the first support. The inner-support wall of the first support is formed to include an aperture included in the at least one aperture formed in the first support.
In some embodiments, the lid is coupled with the rear wall along the living hinge. The front wall is formed to include a serrated cutting edge.
In some embodiments, the storage box includes a first end cap having a front-end wall formed to include anchor tabs and a rear-end wall formed to include tab-receiver slits. The front-end wall is coupled with the front wall along a living hinge. The rear-end wall is coupled with the rear wall along a living hinge. The anchor tabs extend into the tab-receiver slits.

The tape dispenser package 210 includes the tube 12, the plurality of rolls of tape 14, and a carton 216. The rolls of tape 14 are mounted on the tube 12 for rotation about the tube 12. The tube 12 and the rolls of tape 14 are located in the carton 216 for displaying, storing, dispensing, and cutting of the rolls of tape 14.
The tube 12 extends along the longitudinal axis 18 between the first end 20 and the second end 22. The first and second ends 20, 22 of the tube 12 are configured to be supported by the carton 216. The carton 216 supports the tube 12 and the rolls of tape 14 in spaced apart relation relative to a front wall 232, rear wall 34, and bottom wall 36 included in the carton 216.
Each of the plurality of rolls of tape 14 is formed to include the hole and the tube 12 extends through the hole to mount the roll of tape 14 on the tube 12. In some embodiment, the rolls of tape 14 are free to rotate relative to the tube 12. In some embodiments, the rolls of tape 14 are coupled with the tube 12 for rotation therewith.
