Claims
- 1. A taxane composition obtained by culturing a biologically pure culture of a taxane-producing microbe, said microbe having been isolated from a tree of the Genus Taxus.
- 2. A composition according to claim 1, wherein the taxane is taxol.
- 3. A composition according to claim 2, wherein the microbe is a taxol-producing fungus.
- 4. A composition according to claim 2, wherein the microbe is a fungus having the taxane producing characteristics of Montana BA.
- 5. A composition according to claim 2, wherein the microbe is a fungus designated as Montana BA.
- 6. A radiolabelled taxane composition obtained by culturing a biologically pure culture of a microbe, said microbe having been isolated from a tree of the Genus Taxus.
- 7. A composition according to claim 6, wherein the taxane is taxol.
- 8. A composition according to claim 7, wherein the microbe is a fungus.
- 9. A composition according to claim 7, wherein the microbe is a fungus having the taxane producing characteristics of Montana BA.
- 10. A composition according to claim 7, wherein the microbe is a fungus designated as Montana BA.
- 11. A composition according to claim 7, wherein the label is provided by .sup.14 C, .sup.13 C, or .sup.15 N.
- 12. A pharmaceutical composition, which contains a pharmaceutically effective amount of a taxol composition produced according to claim 1, combined with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable inert or physiologically active diluents or adjuvants.
- 13. A pharmaceutical composition, which contains a pharmaceutically effective amount of a radiolabelled taxol composition produced according to claim 6, combined with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable inert or physiologically active diluents or adjuvants.
