Abstract
Techniques to manage contact information are described. An apparatus may comprise a mobile computing device. The mobile computing device may include a subscriber identity module having a first set of contact information. The mobile computing device may also include a contact management module. The contact management module may include a subscriber identity module cache manager to retrieve the first set of contact information from the subscriber identity module and store it in a subscriber identity module cache. The contact management module may also include a contact information database having a second set of contact information. The contact management module may further include a contact database manager to retrieve the first set of contact information from the contact information database and the second set of contact information from the subscriber identity module cache for a contact application. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Claims
  • 1. A mobile computing device, comprising: a subscriber identity module having a first set of contact information;a contact management module to comprise: a subscriber identity module cache manager to retrieve said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module and store it in a subscriber identity module cache;a contact information database having a second set of contact information; anda contact database manager to retrieve said first set of contact information from said contact information database and said second set of contact information from said subscriber identity module cache for a contact application.
  • 2. The mobile computing device of claim 1, said contact application to receive said first and second sets of contact information from said contact database manager, and integrate both sets of contact information into a single set of contact information.
  • 3. The mobile computing device of claim 1, comprising a contact application to receive said first set of contact information from said contact database manager, and display said first set of contact information as subscriber identity module contact information.
  • 4. The mobile computing device of claim 1, said subscriber identity cache manager to retrieve said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module when power is applied to said mobile computing device.
  • 5. The mobile computing device of claim 1, said contact database manager to set a backup parameter to indicate said first set of contact information should not be copied to another device during synchronization operations.
  • 6. A system, comprising: a radio sub-system;a processing sub-system to connect to said radio sub-system;a subscriber identity module having a first set of contact information;a contact management module to comprise: a subscriber identity module cache manager to retrieve said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module and store it in a subscriber identity module cache;a contact information database having a second set of contact information; anda contact database manager to retrieve said first set of contact information from said contact information database and said second set of contact information from said subscriber identity module cache for a contact application.
  • 7. The system of claim 6, said contact application to receive said first and second sets of contact information from said contact database manager, and integrate both sets of contact information into a single set of contact information.
  • 8. The system of claim 6, comprising a contact application to receive said first set of contact information from said contact database manager, and display said first set of contact information as subscriber identity module contact information.
  • 9. The system of claim 6, said subscriber identity cache manager to retrieve said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module when power is applied to said mobile computing device.
  • 10. The system of claim 6, said contact database manager to set a backup parameter to indicate said first set of contact information should not be copied to another device during synchronization operations.
  • 11. A method, comprising: retrieving a first set of contact information from a subscriber identity module;storing said first set of contact information in a subscriber identity module cache; andretrieving said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module cache and a second set of contact information from a contact information database for a contact application.
  • 12. The method of claim 11, comprising: receiving said first and second sets of contact information;integrating both sets of contact information into a single set of contact information; anddisplaying said integrated set of contact information on a display.
  • 13. The method of claim 11, comprising: receiving said first set of contact information; anddisplaying said first set of contact information as subscriber identity module contact information on a display.
  • 14. The method of claim 11, comprising retrieving said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module when power is applied to a mobile computing device.
  • 15. The method of claim 11, comprising setting a backup parameter to indicate said first set of contact information should not be copied to another device during synchronization operations.
  • 16. An article comprising a machine-readable storage medium containing instructions that if executed enable a system to retrieve a first set of contact information from a subscriber identity module, store said first set of contact information in a subscriber identity module cache, and retrieve said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module cache and a second set of contact information from a contact information database for a contact application.
  • 17. The article of claim 16, further comprising instructions that if executed enable the system to receive said first and second sets of contact information, integrate both sets of contact information into a single set of contact information, and display said integrated set of contact information on a display.
  • 18. The article of claim 16, further comprising instructions that if executed enable the system to receive said first set of contact information, and display said first set of contact information as subscriber identity module contact information on a display.
  • 19. The article of claim 16, further comprising instructions that if executed enable the system to retrieve said first set of contact information from said subscriber identity module when power is applied to said mobile computing device.
  • 20. The article of claim 16, further comprising instructions that if executed enable the system to set a backup parameter to indicate said first set of contact information should not be copied to another device during synchronization operations.
