1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a television cabinet and more particularly to a television cabinet having CRT attaching bosses.
2. Description of the Related Art
The CRT of a television receiver is attached to a plurality of bosses formed on the back surface of a front plate of a front cabinet of the receiver. The CRT attaching bosses are extended rearward from the front plate of the front cabinet. The CRT attaching bosses need a strength that withstands a drop test under a state in which the CRT as a heavy object is supported and an impact during an actual use.
As one countermeasure for improving the strength of the CRT attaching bosses, the increase of the thickness of the bosses is considered. However, when the thickness of the bosses is increased, a skew is liable to be generated on a surface opposite to the back surface of the front plate on which the CRT attaching bosses are formed, that is, on the front surface of the front plate. When the skew is generated on the front surface of the front plate of the front cabinet, an adverse influence is given to an external appearance. Thus, an obtained product may be possibly treated as a defective product. Therefore, in order to improve the strength of the CRT attaching bosses, the thickness of the CRT attaching bosses cannot be increased.
Further, to increase the strength of the CRT attaching bosses, the thickness of the base parts of the bosses may also need to be increased. However, when the thickness is simply increased, there is a possibility that the skew is undesirably generated on the surface of the front plate upon molding the front cabinet with a resin to give the adverse influence to the external appearance. Thus, the obtained product may be possibly treated as a defective product. Therefore, while the generation of the skew is prevented, the strength of the CRT attaching bosses needs to be improved.
For the purpose of improving the strength of parts molded with a resin such as the television cabinet, various structures are proposed.
In JP-A-6-311459, rear cabinet attaching bosses and holding ribs are formed integrally with the inner surface of the front cabinet of a television cabinet and the holding ribs are connected to CRT guide ribs. Further, a structure is employed in which the thickness of the base parts of the ribs is reduced to prevent a skew in the outer surface of the cabinet and the thickness of parts remote from the base parts is increased to improve a strength.
In Japanese Utility Model Registration No. 3073842, in the peripheries of CRT attaching ribs formed in the inner surface of the front cabinet of a television cabinet, triangular structures in which three tubular posts are connected together by plate shaped members are formed and the triangular structures are provided with reinforcing ribs. Thus, even when a great load or impact is exerted on the front cabinet, a synthetic resin can be prevented from being whitened in the peripheries of the CRT attaching bosses.
In JP-A-2004-058413, the fluidization of a resin is generated by adjusting the thickness of parts near the base parts of bosses in a resin mold product so that the orientation of a filling material flowing in the bosses is prevented from intersecting at right angles to the orientation of a filling material flowing in a bottom surface adjacent to the bosses. Specifically, the thickness of the parts near the base parts of the bosses is reduced so that a contradiction is decreased. Accordingly, the generation of a skew in the base parts of the bosses can be prevented. The thickness of the parts near the base parts of the bosses is increased so that the generation of welds in the protrusions of the bosses can be prevented. Thus, strength can be improved.
In JP-A-10-128754, a structure is employed for preventing a skew or a warp caused by a solidification of a resin that is generated in a forming die made of a photo-curing resin. A box shaped frame body of the forming die is formed with reduced thickness by a low heat resistant resin. Many reinforcing ribs are formed integrally in grid shapes on a back surface thereof. The back surface is filled with a backing material. In accordance with this structure, after the photo-curing resin is cured, the skew or the warp are prevented from being generated to improve strength.
In JP-A-11-192627, a synthetic resin mold product is provided in which the skew of a thick part is prevented by an internal foaming. The internal foaming is generated by providing a plurality of reinforcing protrusions and injection filling the cavity of a metal mold with a soluble material mixed with a foaming agent. This foaming causes a cubical expansion to arise to correct the contraction of the material due to cooling. Thus, the generation of the skew can be prevented.
In JP-A-9-104081, two panels that are injection molded in a stack metal mold are connected together to improve the strength of the panels. In the panels respectively, grid shaped ribs are formed and bosses are formed halfway or in the intersections of the ribs.
JP-A-9-289619 discloses a structure that a plurality of CRT attaching bosses extending rearward and in the substantially horizontal direction are provided inside the four corners of a front cabinet to attach a CRT.
JP-A-2003-230075 discloses a structure that a plurality of substantially rectangular ribs are formed integrally on the inner wall surface of a front cabinet and CRT attaching bosses are connected to posts by these ribs.
JP-A-9-104440 discloses a structure for improving strength relative to a load of a bottom plate of a container, especially, a rigidity relative to a bending or the like. On the back surface of the bottom plate of the container, that is, on the outer wall of the bottom surface of the container, grid shaped ribs that are regularly connected lengthwise and breadth-wise are formed. The strength relative to the load of the bottom plate is improved by these ribs. Further, a structure is disclosed that the grid shaped ribs are formed in a hexagonal shape.
JP-A-10-035372 discloses a trim for a motor vehicle in which ribs are integrally molded with a resin so as to be arranged in a hexagonal shape.
JP-A-2000-009389 discloses a shelf board used when a ceramic product is sintered. In the shelf board, ribs arranged in a triangular form are formed for the purpose of preventing the ceramic product mounted thereon from being slipped off.
In the above-described JP-A-6-311459, since a contact area of the bosses and the holding ribs is small, cracks are undesirably apt to be generated in the contact parts of the bosses and the ribs during a drop test. In the above-described Japanese Utility Model Registration No. 3073842, bosses are connected to the triangular structural body by the ribs. However, since a contact area of the bosses and the ribs is small, cracks are undesirably apt to be generated in the contact parts of the bosses and the ribs during a drop test. In the above-described JP-A-2004-058413, the strength is improved by adjusting the thickness of the base parts of the boss parts. However, when the thickness of the base parts is increased, there is a possibility that the skew is generated on the surface of the cabinet. On the contrary, when the thickness of the base parts is decreased, even if the generation of the skew can be prevented, the strength cannot be improved. In the above-described JP-A-10-128754, the grid shaped reinforcing ribs are formed and the back surface is filled with the backing material so that the generation of the skew or the warp of the box shaped frame body having the small thickness is prevented and the strength is improved. However, there is no description of the relation between the thickness of CRT attaching bosses and the generation of the skew. Thus, such a structure cannot be applied to a countermeasure for preventing the skew upon improvement of the strength of the CRT attaching bosses. In the above-described JP-A-11-192627, the skew of the thick part is prevented by foaming. However, since the thickness is not increased, it cannot be said that the improvement of the strength is sufficient. In the above-described JP-A-9-104081, the grid shaped ribs are formed in the panels and the bosses are formed halfway or at the intersections of the ribs. However, since a contact area of the bosses and the holding ribs is small, cracks are undesirably apt to be generated in the contact parts of the bosses and the ribs during a drop test.
In the structure described in JP-A-2003-230075, the CRT attaching bosses are connected to the posts by the ribs. However, since a contact area of the bosses and the ribs is small, cracks are undesirably apt to be generated in the contact parts of the bosses and the ribs during a drop test. In the container described in the JP-A-9-104440, the height of the ribs is not specifically referred to and a relation to bosses is not described. That is, JP-A-9-104440 does not describe a structure that needs to be formed so that a skew is not generated in an external appearance in accordance with the thickness of the bosses like a reinforcing structure of the CRT attaching bosses. In a structure disclosed in the JP-A-10-035372, shock absorbing characteristics are ensured and the shock absorbing characteristics are made compatible with the prevention of a skew on a surface by the ribs formed on the back surface of the trim for the motor vehicle. However, the JP-A-10-035372 does not describe a structure that needs to be formed so that the skew is not generated in an external appearance in accordance with the thickness of bosses like a reinforcing structure of the CRT attaching bosses. In a structure described in JP-A-2000-009389, the ribs arranged in a triangular form are provided for the purpose of preventing the ceramic product from being slipped off. However, JP-A-2000-009389 does not describe a structure that needs to be formed so that the skew is not generated in an external appearance in accordance with the thickness of bosses like a reinforcing structure of the CRT attaching bosses.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to improve the strength of CRT attaching bosses without giving an influence to an external appearance in a front cabinet of a television receiver.
According to a first aspect of the invention, there is provided a television cabinet having a front cabinet for attaching a CRT, the television cabinet including: a plurality of CRT attaching bosses provided on inner walls at four corners of the front cabinet, the CRT attaching bosses extending rearward and in substantially horizontal direction for attaching the CRT; a plurality of posts provided in the vicinity of the CRT attaching bosses; a plurality of plate shaped members that connects the CRT attaching bosses to the posts; a plurality of thickness portions in which a thickness of the inner walls is formed so as to be larger by 0.45 times or more and 5 times or less as the thickness of the CRT attaching bosses than the thickness of other portions in the vicinity of a base part of the CRT attaching bosses; and a plurality of grooves formed in a grid form in the thickness portions, the grooves having a depth and a width the same as a difference between the thickness of the thickness portions and the thickness of other portions, wherein the diameter of the CRT attaching boss has a length capable of including three or more grooves formed on the inner walls.
According to a second aspect of the invention, there is provided a television cabinet having a front cabinet for attaching a CRT, the television cabinet including: a plurality of CRT attaching bosses provided on inner walls at four corners of the front cabinet, the CRT attaching bosses extending rearward and in substantially horizontal direction for attaching the CRT; a plurality of thickness portions in which a thickness of the inner walls is formed so as to be larger by substantially half as thick as the thickness of the CRT attaching bosses than the thickness of other portions in the vicinity of a base part of the CRT attaching bosses; and a plurality of grooves formed in a grid form in the thickness portions, the grooves having a depth the same as a difference between the thickness of the thickness portions and the thickness of other portions.
The above objects and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing preferred exemplary embodiments thereof in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Embodiments of the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings hereinafter.
Entire Structure
A cabinet of a television receiver according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a front cabinet 1 with which the front surface side of the cabinet is covered and a rear cabinet (not shown in the drawing) with which a rear surface side is covered.
CRT Attaching Boss and Structure in the Vicinity Thereof
The CRT attaching boss 3 is formed so as to extend rearward and in the substantially horizontal direction from the back surface of the front plate 10. The form of the CRT attaching boss is cylindrical. In the vicinity of the CRT attaching boss 3, a post 4a is formed on the back surface of the top plate 7. On the back surface of the side wall 8, a post 4b is formed. On the back surface of the front plate 10, plate shaped members 5a to 5d are formed. One end of the plate shaped piece part 5a is connected to the side wall of the CRT attaching boss 3 and the other end is connected to the side wall of the post 4a. That is, the plate shaped piece part 5a serves to connect the CRT attaching boss 3 to the post 4a. One end of the plate shaped piece part 5b is connected to the side wall of the CRT attaching boss 3 and the other end is connected to the side wall of the post 4b. That is, the plate shaped piece part 5a and the plate shaped piece part 5b form an obtuse angle. The side wall of the CRT attaching boss 3 is further connected to the back surfaces of the top plate 7 and the side plate 8 by the plate shaped members 5c and 5d.
The CRT is fixed by screwing the CRT attaching bosses 3 to CRT attaching fittings (not illustrated) fixed to the CRT.
In the back surface of the front plate 10, a thickness part 12 for reinforcing the strength of the boss 3 is formed from a part near the base of the CRT attaching boss 3 to a part near the base of the post 4. In the thickness part 12, substantially rectangular grooves 16 are formed in a grid form.
As shown in
Further, the CRT attaching boss 3 is formed so as to have a diameter of length including the three grooves 16 as shown in
The depth Da of the groove 16 is equal to the difference between the thickness De of the thickness part 12 and the thickness Dd of other portions as shown in FIG. 4. Namely, the depth of the groove 16 satisfies a formula (1).
Da=De−Dd (1)
Here, the depth Da is equal to the difference between the thickness De of the thickness part and the thickness Dd of other portions. However, the depth of the groove 16 may be changed within a range in which the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 can be assuredly held and a skew on the surface of the front plate 10 corresponding to the thickness part 12 can be prevented.
The depth Da of the groove 16, that is, the thickness (De−Dd) of a part by which the thickness part 12 is thicker than other portions corresponds to substantially a half as thick as the thickness Dc of the CRT attaching boss 3. Here, substantially a half as thick as the thickness Dc means 0.45 to 5 times as thick as c. Namely, the depth Da of the groove 16 satisfies a formula (2).
Da=De−Dd=0.45 to 5*Dc (2)
As described above, in the vicinity of the base of the CRT attaching boss 3, the thickness part 12 whose thickness is larger than by the thickness 0.45 to 5 times as thick as the thickness of the CRT attaching boss 3 than the thickness of other portions is formed. The CRT attaching boss 3. The grooves 16 whose depth Da is equal to the thickness (De−Dd) of the part by which the thickness part 12 is thicker than other portions are formed. Thus, the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 is improved and the skew on the surface of the front plate 10 corresponding to the thickness part 12 can be prevented at the same time. That is, while the strength of the base of the CRT attaching boss 3 is increased by the thickness part 12, the volume of the thickness part 12 is reduced by the plurality of the grooves 16. Thus, the skew on the surface of the front plate 10 corresponding to the thickness part 12 can be prevented.
Further, the width Db of the groove 16 is substantially equal to the depth Da of the groove 16 so that the groove 16 has substantially a cubic form. Thus, an impact from all directions is easily absorbed.
Further, the thickness Df of the posts 4a and 4b and the thickness Dg of the plate shaped members 5a to 5d are not larger than the thickness Dd of other portions. Namely, the thickness Df and Dg satisfies a formula (3), because when the thickness Df and Dg is more increased, a possibility is made higher that the skew on the surface of the front plate 10 is generated in the parts of the posts 4a and 4b and the plate shaped members 5a to 5d.
Df, Dg≦Dd (3)
As dimensions that satisfy the above-described condition, below-described dimensions may be set. For instance, Da=1.0 mm, Db=1.0 mm, Dc=2 to 2.2 mm, Dd=2.3 mm, De=3.3 mm, Df=2.3 mm, Dg=2.3 mm.
In the embodiment, the number of the posts connected to the CRT attaching boss is two. However, a structure may be employed in which the number of the posts is three or more to improve the strength for holding the CRT attaching boss in the front plate of the front cabinet.
Further, in the embodiment, the form of the groove 16 formed by the thickness part 12 is rectangular. However, a triangular form or a polygonal form such as a hexagonal form, etc. may be employed.
Further, in the embodiment, the plurality of the thickness portions 12 whose forms are rectangular parallelepiped are arranged to form the groove 16. However, a structure may be employed in which curved ribs are arranged in wrinkled forms to improve the strength of the base parts of the bosses and the parts in the vicinity thereof.
According to the embodiment, the base part of the CRT attaching boss 3 is formed to be thicker by the substantially half c/2 as thick as the thickness Dc of the CRT attaching boss 3 than other portions. The plurality of the grooves 16 having the depth Da equal to the thickness (De−Dd) of the part with the thickness corresponding to the difference between the thickness of the thickness part and the thickness of other portions are formed in the thickness part 12. Thus, the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 can be reinforced and the skew can be prevented from being generated in the external appearance of the front cabinet 1 corresponding to the thickness part 12. That is, the thickness part 12 is formed in the base of the CRT attaching boss 3 and the plurality of the grooves 16 are formed that have the depth Da equal to the thickness (De−Dd) of the part with the thickness corresponding to the difference between the thickness of the thickness part and the thickness of other portions. Thus, the thickness of the base can be increased so as to increase the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3. Further, the volume of the thickness part 12 is reduced by the grooves 16 so that the generation of the skew can be prevented upon forming the front cabinet with the resin. As a result, in the front cabinet 1 of the television receiver, the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 can be improved without giving an influence to the external appearance.
Further, in the embodiment, since the plurality of the grooves 16 formed in the thickness part have the cubic forms, the grooves 16 can be easily formed with the resin. Further, when the grooves 16 are formed in the cubic forms, the grooves 16 obtain good symmetrical characteristics. Accordingly, the grooves 16 can easily absorb the impact from all the directions.
Further, in the embodiment, the grooves 16 are formed in the thickness part 12 with such a density as to include three or more grooves 16 in the CRT attaching boss 3 in a plan view. Accordingly, the skew due to the decrease of the volume of the thickness part 12 can be prevented without lowering an effect of improving the strength by the thickness part 12.
Further, since the posts 4a and 4b are provided in the vicinity of the CRT attaching boss 3 and the CRT attaching boss 3 is connected to the posts 4a and 4b by the plate shaped members 5a and 5b, the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 can be more increased. That is, the thickness part 12 is formed in the vicinity of the base of the CRT attaching boss 3 and the CRT attaching boss 3 is connected to the posts 4a and 4b, so that the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 can be more enhanced. Further, not only the thickness of the base of the CRT attaching boss 3, but also the thickness of the bases of the posts 4a and 4b and the plate shaped members 5a and 5b is formed so as to be large. The plurality of the grooves 16 are formed in the grid form in the thickness part 12. Accordingly, the strength of the bases of the CRT attaching boss 3 and the posts 4a and 4b can be increased and the skew can be prevented in the thickness part 12. Therefore, an effect of enhancing the strength of the CRT attaching boss 3 of the television cabinet can be more improved without giving an influence to the external appearance. In the television cabinet, since the two posts 4a and 4b are connected to one CRT attaching boss 3, the strength of the boss can be effectively increased.
Further, the thickness Df of the posts 4a and 4b and the thickness Dg of the plate shaped members 5a and 5b are not larger than d. Thus, the security of the strength of the posts 4a and 4b and the plate shaped members 5a and 5b can be made compatible with the prevention of the skew.
As described above with reference to the embodiment, the television cabinet has a front cabinet for attaching a CRT and a rear cabinet connected to the rear part of the front cabinet. The television cabinet includes: a plurality of CRT attaching bosses extending rearward and in the substantially horizontal direction on the inner walls of the four corners of the front cabinet to attach the CRT; the CRT attaching bosses being connected to two or more posts provided in the vicinity of the CRT attaching bosses by plate shaped members; and thickness portions in which the thickness of the inner walls is formed so as to be larger by the thickness 0.45 times or more and 5 times or less as thick as the thickness of the CRT attaching bosses than the thickness of other portions in the vicinity of the bases of the CRT attaching bosses. A plurality of grooves having the depth and width of the difference between the thickness of the thickness portions and the thickness of other portions are formed in a grid form in the thickness portions. The diameter of the CRT attaching bosses has the length capable of including three or more grooves formed on the inner walls.
According to the configuration above, the base parts of the bosses are formed so that the thickness of the base parts is larger by substantially half as thick as the thickness of the bosses. A plurality of grooves having the depth equal to the thickness corresponding to the difference between the thickness of the thickness portions and the thickness of other portions are formed. Thus, the strength of the bosses can be increased and a skew can be prevented from being generated in the external appearance of the front cabinet corresponding to the thickness portions. That is, the thickness portions are formed in the bases of the bosses and the plurality of grooves having the depth equal to the thickness corresponding to the difference between the thickness of the thickness portions and the thickness of other portions are formed. Accordingly, the thickness of the bases can be increased so that the strength of the bosses is increased the generation of the skew can be prevented by the plurality of the grooves upon forming the front cabinet with a resin. As a result, in the front cabinet of a television receiver, the strength of the CRT attaching bosses can be improved without giving an influence to the external appearance.
In the television cabinet, since the forms of the plurality of the grooves formed in the thickness portions are substantially rectangular, the grooves can be easily formed with a resin.
In the television cabinet, the width of the groove is substantially the same as the depth of the groove. Thus, the groove has good symmetrical characteristics. Accordingly, the strength of the bases of the bosses can be advantageously enhanced and the grooves can be easily formed with the resin.
In the television cabinet, the diameter of the CRT attaching boss is formed so as to have the length capable of including three grooves. Thus, the improvement of the strength of the bases of the bosses and the prevention of the skew can be effectively realized.
In the television cabinet, the posts are provided in the vicinity of the bosses and the bosses are connected to the posts by the plate shaped members. Thus, the strength of the bosses can be more increased. That is, the thickness portions are formed in the vicinity of the bases of the posts and the bosses are connected to the posts, so that the strength of the bosses can be more enhanced. Further, not only the thickness of the bases of the bosses, but also the thickness of the bases of the posts and the plate shaped members is formed so as to be large. The plurality of grooves are formed in the grid form in the thickness portions. Accordingly, the strength of the bases of the bosses and the posts can be increased and the skew can be prevented in the thickness portions. Therefore, an effect of enhancing the strength of the CRT attaching bosses of the television cabinet can be more improved without giving an influence to the external appearance. In the television cabinet, since the two posts are connected to one boss, the strength of the boss can be effectively increased.
The thickness of the plate shaped piece part is substantially the same as the thickness of the boss. Accordingly, the strength of the plate shaped members can be ensured and the skew can be prevented at the same time.
According to another aspect, the television cabinet has a front cabinet for attaching a CRT and a rear cabinet connected to the rear part of the front cabinet. The television cabinet includes: a plurality of CRT attaching bosses extending rearward and in the substantially horizontal direction on the inner walls of the four corners of the front cabinet for attaching the CRT; and thickness portions in which the thickness of the inner walls is formed so as to be larger by substantially half as thick as the thickness of the CRT attaching bosses than the thickness of other portions in the vicinity of the bases of the CRT attaching bosses. A plurality of grooves having the depth of the difference between the thickness of the thickness portions and the thickness of other portions are formed in a grid form in the thickness portions.
According to the above configuration, the base parts of the bosses are formed so that the thickness of the base parts is larger by substantially half as thick as the thickness of the bosses.
In the television cabinet, the form of the groove is substantially rectangular in the vicinity of the bases of the CRT attaching bosses.
In the television cabinet, since the forms of the plurality of the grooves formed in the thickness portions are substantially rectangular, the grooves can be easily formed with a resin.
In the television cabinet, the width of the groove is substantially the same as the depth of the groove.
In the television cabinet, the width of the groove is the same as the depth of the groove. Thus, the groove has good symmetrical characteristics. Accordingly, the strength of the bases of the bosses can be advantageously enhanced and the grooves can be easily formed with the resin.
In the television cabinet, the diameter of the CRT attaching boss has the length capable of including three or more grooves formed on the inner walls.
In the television cabinet, the diameter of the boss is formed so as to have the length including the three grooves. Thus, the improvement of the strength of the base parts of the bosses and the prevention of the skew can be effectively realized.
In the television cabinet, the forms of the grooves are triangular.
In the television cabinet, the forms of the grooves are simple, so that the grooves can be easily formed with the resin. Further, when the triangular grooves are arranged at random, an impact from all directions can be readily dispersed.
In the television cabinet, the grooves are hexagonal.
In the television cabinet, the forms of the grooves have good symmetrical characteristics. Accordingly, the strength of the bases of the bosses can be advantageously enhanced and the grooves can be easily formed with the resin.
In the television cabinet, the forms of the grooves are wrinkled.
In the television cabinet, the plurality of the grooves are wrinkled to increase the strength of a direction on which an impact is readily exerted by a drop test. Further, the wrinkled grooves are formed in random directions so that the impact from all directions can be dispersed.
In the television cabinet, the CRT attaching bosses are connected to posts provided in the vicinity of the CRT attaching bosses by plate shaped members; and the thickness portions are formed in the vicinity of the bases of the posts and the plate shaped members and the grooves are formed in the grid shape.
In the television cabinet, the number of the posts provided in the vicinity of the CRT attaching bosses is two or more.
According to the configuration above, since the two posts are connected to one boss, the strength of the boss can be effectively increased.
According to the television cabinet, a structure that the generation of a skew can be prevented and the strength of the base parts of bosses is enhanced can be provided.
