Claims
- 1. A recording apparatus comprising:
- a recording head for performing a recording operation by ejecting an ink from an ejection port using heat energy from a driving signal;
- drive means for supplying the driving signal to said recording head;
- ejection quantity control means for controlling an ink election quantity ejected from the ejection port by changing the driving signal to be supplied to said recording head;
- temperature measurement means for measuring a surrounding temperature;
- temperature variation calculation means for calculating a variation in temperature of said recording head on the basis of a thermal time constant of said recording head and energy of the driving signal supplied to said recording head by said drive means during a unit time;
- presumption means for performing presumption of the temperature of said recording head on the basis of the variation in temperature calculated by said temperature variation calculation means, and the surrounding temperature measured by said temperature measurement means; and
- ejection stabilization control means for performing ejection stabilization control according to the presumed temperature presumed by said presumption means, wherein said presumption means performs a following presumption taking into consideration a variation in temperature caused by the ejection stabilization control performed by said ejection stabilization control means.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said ejection stabilization control means comprises restoration condition control means for controlling a restoration condition.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said restoration condition control means performs restoration processing of said recording head under a condition according to the presumed temperature.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said restoration condition control means performs pre-ejection of said recording head under a condition according to the presumed temperature.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said restoration condition control means performs suction restoration of said recording head under a condition according to the presumed temperature.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said recording head causes a change in state in an ink by the heat energy, and ejects the ink on the basis of the change in state.
- 7. A recording apparatus comprising:
- a recording head for performing a recording operation by ejecting an ink from an ejection port using heat energy from a driving signal;
- drive means for supplying the driving signal to said recording head;
- ejection quantity control means for controlling an ink ejection quantity ejected from the ejection port by changing the driving signal to be supplied to said recording head;
- temperature measurement means for measuring a surrounding temperature;
- temperature variation calculation means for calculating a variation in temperature of said recording head on the basis of a thermal time constant of said recording head and energy of the driving signal supplied to said recording head by said drive means during a reference period;
- prediction means for performing prediction of a future temperature of said recording head on the basis of the variation in temperature calculated by said temperature variation calculation means and the surrounding temperature measured by said temperature measurement means, said ejection quantity control means controlling the ink ejection quantity by changing the driving signal on the basis of the future temperature predicted by said prediction means; and
- ejection stabilization control means for performing ejection stabilization control according to the future temperature predicted by said prediction means, wherein said prediction means performs a following prediction taking into consideration a variation in temperature caused by the ejection stabilization control performed by said ejection stabilization control means.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said ejection stabilization control means comprises restoration condition control means for controlling a restoration condition.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 8, wherein said restoration condition control means performs restoration processing of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 8, wherein said restoration condition control means performs pre-ejection of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
- 11. An apparatus according to claim 8, wherein said restoration condition control means performs suction restoration of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
- 12. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said ejection stabilization control means performs temperature control of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
- 13. An apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising:
- head temperature measurement means for measuring a temperature of said recording head;
- detection means for detecting a difference between the variation in temperature of said recording head calculated by said temperature variation calculation means, and a variation in temperature of said recording head measured by said head temperature measurement means; and
- correction means for correcting calculations of said temperature variation calculation means according to the difference.
- 14. An apparatus according to claim 7, further comprising:
- head temperature measurement means for measuring a temperature of said recording head;
- detection means for detecting a difference between the head temperature predicted by said prediction means for predicting the future temperature of said recording head, and a head temperature measured by said head temperature measurement means; and
- correction means for correcting calculations of said temperature variation calculation means according to the difference.
- 15. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein said recording head causes a change in state in the an ink by the heat energy, and ejects the ink on the basis of the change in state.
- 16. A recording apparatus comprising:
- a recording head for performing a recording operation by ejecting an ink from an ejection port using heat energy from a driving signal;
- drive means for supplying the driving signal to said recording head;
- temperature measurement means for measuring a surrounding temperature;
- temperature variation calculation means for calculating a variation in temperature of said recording head based on a thermal time constant of said recording head and energy of the driving signal supplied to said recording head by said drive means during a unit time;
- presumption means for performing presumption of the temperature of said recording head based on the variation in temperature calculated by said temperature calculation means, and the surrounding temperature measured by said temperature measurement means; and
- ejection stabilization control means for performing ejection stabilization control according to the presumed temperature presumed by said presumption means, wherein said presumption means performs a following presumption taking into consideration a variation in temperature caused by the ejection stabilization control performed by said ejection stabilization control means.
- 17. An apparatus according to claim 16, wherein said ejection stabilization control means comprises restoration condition control means for controlling a restoration condition.
- 18. An apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said restoration condition control means performs restoration processing of said recording head under a condition according to the presumed temperature.
- 19. An apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said restoration condition control means performs pre-ejection of said recording head under a condition according to the presumed temperature.
- 20. An apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said restoration condition control means performs suction restoration of said recording head under a condition according to the presumed temperature.
- 21. A recording apparatus comprising:
- a recording head for performing a recording operation by ejecting an ink from an ejection port using heat energy from a driving signal;
- drive means for supplying the driving signal to said recording head;
- temperature measurement means for measuring a surrounding temperature;
- temperature variation calculation means for calculating a variation in temperature of said recording head based on a thermal time constant of said recording head and energy of the driving signal supplied to said recording head by said drive means during a reference period;
- prediction means for performing prediction of a future temperature of said recording head based on the variation in temperature calculated by said temperature variation calculation means and the surrounding temperature measured by said temperature measurement means; and
- ejection stabilization control means for performing ejection stabilization control according to the future temperature predicted by said prediction means, wherein said prediction means performs a following prediction taking into consideration a variation in temperature caused by the ejection stabilization control performed by said ejection stabilization control means.
- 22. An apparatus according to claim 21, wherein said ejection stabilization control means comprises restoration condition control means for controlling a restoration condition.
- 23. An apparatus according to claim 22, wherein said restoration condition control means performs restoration processing of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
- 24. An apparatus according to claim 22, wherein said restoration condition control means performs pre-ejection of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
- 25. An apparatus according to claim 22, wherein said restoration condition control means performs suction restoration of said recording head under a condition according to the predicted temperature.
